Hmm after to many computer failures I prefer to dive with a computer + bottom timer.
On OC you really don't need two computers. Just to know what depth you are and possibly the ascent rate.
For recreational dives a bottom timer is a good backup and for technical dives a computer is a good backup.
But what I wonder is the redundancy in lights / battery capacity. Specifically in combination with some heating setup.

With regards to lights and battery systems for heating, I prefer to keep them separate. A good rule of thumb is to go Burntime is 2x dive time, which gives you some leeway when batteries age and when cold water affects the battery as well. More burn time might be a good thing in overhead situations. IN Overhead we use 2 backup lights with good power and the same burn time.

Would the residual toothpaste not sting your eyes? Probably a stupid question

Robbie Sweeney hi buddy, no such thing as a stupid question! The only question that is stupid is the one not asked.
Before you put on the mask you rubb the toothpast out with your fingers and that does the trick. Maybe if you use a very mentholly paste. But a normal cheap white toothpast never gave me troubles.

I swear I have seen this video before. ...not that it shouldn't be rewatched as it is good information.

    Is utd selling anything anymore?

Hi thank you for your comment. The quick answer is yes. But UTD Equipment and UTD Scubadiving training have split up. So each branch can focus on their respective markets. Andrew is in charge of the equipment and if you want to get in touch with him you can reach him by going to: www.utdscubaequipment.com/
