    Many thanks for posting - your review of a Contour seems to be the only one not by a B&O retailer.
    We just upgraded from a BV14-40 with BL6000s, to a BV Contour 48. Was tempted by the 55 inch, but very glad to have stuck with the 48 inch - it is a noticeable size upgrade from a 40 inch display without outgrowing the space we had - also much cleaner having everything on the one floor stand with a lot less cables. We will greatly miss the motorised floor stand of the BV14 (and Beocenter 1 before that), but the manual floor stand is silky smooth and it is effortless to pivot with one finger (a neat party trick, when the combined weight is 49kg).
    I wont miss Android TV on the BV14 - a huge disappointment, and a great drag on general performance whether you were doing anything smart, or not. The LG CEC control over an Apple TV is quite close to what we had with PUC control on the BV14. Being able to reuse our Beoremote 1 (we have 4 BR1s for each area of our living room) - and control all aspects of the screen, soundbar and AppleTV makes this a Beovision to me.
    The silver stand is stunning in the flesh. You can see and feel the quality - they took no shortcuts. We also went for the light oak speaker cover - a nod to the smoked oak lamellas on our BV14 - which is almost the same price as the LG C2 48 (now that is very Beovision). Sadly you cant mix and match oak covers on the Contour as the light oak cover has a silver top to match the stand, while the smoked oak cover only comes with the black top for the black frame (sigh).

      congratulations and enjoy! You took a big step in to this century coming from a bv14 with barely working android :p

    I know this is an old screen built in but as a bedroom TV my Main bedroom is 4 by 4 I really like this setup

      The one on sale now is I think a C3 or G3 panel, they've updated the panels inside with the years.

    Another great video. I didn’t like the Contour from the original leaked photo but I must admit once I’d seen it on Henrik’s video and now yours, I’ve changed my mind. It is rather good looking indeed. As yourself I do think the lack of PL options is a mistake at that price level.
    48 inch doesn’t make sense for me neither so will not be replacing my LG 55 & 65 Stage & BS35 solutions and the size and lack of PL makes it a no go for my living room as well.
    Good effort from B&O though and a very nice addition to the range.

    Great video! You seem a bit nervous at the beginning, were you? Seems like it's always so natural for you to make such video's. Like the new format, liked the old format as well. Where you not able to talk in the store? And I agree, OLED over LCD. LCD has come a long way, but OLED is something very different. Especially the black levels and amazing colours.
    The Contour looks amazing too! Love the design! Would you say it's more like a secondary TV? Like for in a bedroom for instance? Since it has no powerlink and most B&O owners I know have more than one pair of Beolab speakers.

    • @Mikipedia
      @Mikipedia  3 года назад +1

      I was nervous as my cats kept messing up the takes :p I had to re do it a few times and it was really annoying lol.
      Talking in the store is hard as the phone keeps on ringing and people keep walking in and I don't know who doesn't want to be in a video or what details are being said in the background that shouldn't be shared like shipping/address details and all that. I've done it before but that 15 min video took over an hour and a half to do as for the reasons mentioned above.
      This is either a secondary tv or a perfect tv for houses in cities here where the Livingroom is ~3 meter wide and you don't need extra speakers. When I walk through the city I see those kind of Livingroom's everywhere here and at such a distance a 55'' may actually be too big because you sit so close to it.
      For the price I would've loved to see 1 or 2 PL sockets on it, would've been the perfect ''my first modern B&O'' tv then, but sadly it's not there.

    I agree with you Michael. A little too expensive. Even if they took a grand off of it it would be more palatable but I guess the reality is that there will be trade in deals and discounts via dealer available like we saw with the eclipse.
    I don’t need a second tv to go with my eclipse but my parents for example would love this. Just not at RRP!

    • @Mikipedia
      @Mikipedia  3 года назад +2

      I always advise to see if you can get a deal, B&O generally works on the assumption of ''asking price'' there tends be room for discussion. It's expensive for sure, but it does look the business :p (wish it had PL too!)

  • @skodbolle
    @skodbolle 3 года назад +1

    Its fine that the TV is a bit "fat" it's a better solution to fit the speaker flush with the screen. Mind you I do like the BV8 with the "stick-out" speaker that is a also a good way to fit more speaker in a flat TV, but this is better

    • @Mikipedia
      @Mikipedia  3 года назад +2

      I guess you could say that the choice was a ''beer belly''(sticking out front) or a ''fat ass''/sticking out back like we have here :p I think more people in general like a fat ass over a beer belly in general lol

    Hi,
    Thanks for this great video, the only one on the web about these products.
    I like Contour: makes me think about BV 11 and 14 that were so nice.
    Question: do you see a difference between LG C7 and GX panel? Maybe the first one lacked brightness.
    Main question: apparently, 65" will come in February; do you know more about the date? I've been waiting for so long...
    Keep safe, happy new year, and love to your cats

    • @Mikipedia
      @Mikipedia  3 года назад +2

      Thank you! I mostly see the difference in the C7 vs cx/gx in the upscaling of lower end sources like regular tv in hd and sd. In 4k they are basically the same, some tweaks here and there but nothing major. the upscaling though is significantly better for hd and sd sources, so good you almost can't tell it's not 4k.
      The eclipse will probably launch when they reach critical inventory numbers, as you can understand it's a bit harder to get everything in time atm. There is no point in launching it when you can't buy it :p
      Cats say thank meow :p

      @@Mikipedia Thanks a lot for this great answer. What you say is very interesting to me because 95% of my TV consumption in Belgium comes from a "Digicorder" broadcasting "regular TV": F1 races, concerts, news, shows,...
      I will keep watching news about Eclipse 65"" availability
      In the meantime, I keep watching my 1997 Beovision Avant that still works perfectly!
      Thanks a lot for your excellent video's, keep safe, love to your cats and Happy New Year !

    Very nice looking setup! The cabling on the back however makes it look like the Stage and LG Screen both keep their original power cable. Does that mean the Contour has two plugs?

    I like that it’s more substantial in design, in what is a particular considered designer piece. If they didn’t match the cable cover with the sound centre it would have looked weird. I like it.

      I never disliked the design, as I said in the video I still think it's too much and I prefer the Stage + Stand + free hanging screen. I don't like the price still, I still don't like that it has no PL options. It's still not for me, I don't think I'll be buying this, like I said in the video too :p
