I just finished reading ACOMAF for the first time! I loved it - I spent several hours this morning knitting on my stick season sweater while watching a recap video of it bc I wasn't ready to be done with the story ❤
Ah I can totally imagine that!! The reread of it is so fun because I do remember what happens overall but don't remember the details. Kind of feel like I'm sort off reading for the first time haha
I love 9” circulars too! I switch to magic loop for heel and depending on the sock I may continue with 9” until the toe. Good podcast and I enjoyed your content. Hope to see you again soon.
I use 2 16" circular needles for socks. Half the stitches on each needle. Second would be DPNs, but I haven't used them for a long time. I don't ever do magic loop. Also, always top down with heel flap and gusset.
Oeh that is a smart way to do it too! I'm not a big fan of the heel flap and gusset knitting wise but I made it on these socks and they do fit really well, so maybe need to do it more often haha
I am watching crimes, so I am prepared to not so good things, last I watched is the fall, quite old tv series. 🤭 and reading competition with knitting, so its always a hard choice, I started to planning my day for this all.
Hi❤ I never tried the small circulars but I prefer dpns over magic loop too🙈 and I think I have seen 52 weeks of socks volume 2 at my local yarnshop, maybe you can find it there?😘
Hii it's nice to see you again so soon! I see that everyone here is commenting about sock making but I'm not a very prolific sock knitter (only ever knitted a pair and a half and it feels like they take forever cause the yarn is so thin and the stitches are sooo small😂), anyway I'm gonna comment about your reading instead! I read the whole ACOTAR serie last year and loved it and this year I read Fourth Wing and them immediately after the releasing date here in Italy (which was around end of January) I also read the second book, Iron Flame. Girl, let me tell you, I might like them even more than ACOTAR😍 The story is so fascinating and engaging and the characters are so well written... and the dragons too!! I just needed to fangirl about them a bit I think haha anyway I know you read Fourth Wing, did you like it? I recommend reading Iron Flame too asap, it won't disappoint🥳
I loooooooved fourth wing!! It's definitely up there next to ACOTAR for me, it's just so good! I got Iron Flame as a present for graduation but haven't started reading it. I think I'm going to safe it for a vacation or something like that so I can completely get into it and read it in three days 😂 I'm so curious about the quality of the second book since the opinions on it are so mixed bit your 'review' makes me even more excited 😄
@@themindfulcreators I know! Before reading it I've heard some bad opinions too but honestly I don't see why, still prefer the first book - as it happens almost every time to me with series- but I really loved Iron Flame! It'll be a fantastic holiday read!
I hate magic loop... or "cursed loop" as I've started calling it 🤣 I always use DPNs for socks, they're my favourite. Your Surpass looks really nice! I'm making a Piping Hot at the moment, the sleeve shaping is done with short rows and it is SO satisfying. I procrastinated doing the sleeves for ages because I was a bit scared but they are really straightforward.
Haha cursed loop, I like that!! I tried DPNs actually before I got 9 inch circulars and I totally get you. And thank you so much! Ah the piping hot is definitely one I just NEED to make this year. What color combo are you using?
@@themindfulcreators I'm using a light olive green and a dark green for the piping! I also want to do one in navy with gold piping but I decided to go for a slightly less statement colour combination first 😆
I also prefer 9in circulars! I always get laddering on my socks with magic loop, no matter what tricks and tips I try... the heel on 9in circulars are never a problem for me, but I use the circulars where the needles are the same length on both sides so I don't have to fiddle with the tiny needle on the purling side. Are DPNs less likely to ladder than magic loop? I've been too scared to try it yet but maybe I should
Circulars with same size needles sound really nice too! What brand circulars have that? For me dpns do ladder if I use them as ‘normal’. What I like to do when I use dpns is to always knit a stitch or two more from the next needle. So I always switch the placement of the stitches on the needles which then doesn’t give me laddering anymore
@@themindfulcreators oh that's smart! I'll keep that in mind when I get around to using DPNS! For the same size needle circulars, I use ChiaoGoo 9-inch Red Line circulars, they also have ones that are like yours but the Red Line ones have the same size needles
I'm probably in the minority. I hate 9in circulars because they hurt my hands. My preferred are magic loop 1st, DPNs 2nd and only 9inch, if I have to 😅
Oeh okay I do totally get that!! One of the last time I picked up my nine inch my hands cramped like crazy which normally doesn’t happen. However I almost always knit on short needles so that might help with not getting much pain with the smaller ones
Oehh then maybe you might like it a bit more when you try it the other way. Have you tried it already because now I’m curious if you like that better 👀
@@themindfulcreators sadly I lost my sock mojo for a few months, now I have it back, because I wanna try this sooo bad😂 but I packed all of my sock yarn because I'm moving in less than three months. I'll keep you updated!
@@lizelotteklop1182 haha wooow you're an early packer! well prepared I would say. Maybe take a look in your boxes because I can't imagine having to wait three months to try this out 😂
@@themindfulcreators I knooow, I already packed it a few months ago in december😂 But my yarnstash was just a mess so i decided to clean it up and then I thought i might as well pack up. Sooo, that's how I ended up with no sock yarn and a lot of other yarn. Might buy some new sock yarn, cuz I still have all my knitting needles

I can imagine magic loop will be great for the heel indeed! And thank you so much, I really appreciate it😄 Welcome 😘
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. Love your sweater it’s beautiful.
Ah thank you so much! 🥰😄

Haha yeah I also love watching crime shows but it always hurts more when in a romance the ending is not a happy ending 😂
I'm in the same boat as you -- 9", DPNs, and I only do magic loop when I'm desperate!
Also had no idea you liked R&B, which is also my favorite genre
9 inch for the win!! I also had no idea you like R&B!! What’s your favorite type of R&B?🤩

9inch circulars and flexible dpns.... also cannot tolerate magic loop 😆. Just too fiddly for me.
Oeh I haven’t heard of flexible dpns, what does that look like?
whaaat, I hate 9'' circulars, but i just realised why. I thought you were supposed to knit with the smaller needle and i just made my fingers cramp
