the key to not fucking up your knees and never being able to dance no more (roughly sayd) is to not OVER EXTEND your legs. just snap your legs back to the part where your legs are still a bit bended. and at the END of the snap FLEX your leg muscles to make sure that you dont accidently over extend and injure your knees!

be carefull with SNAPING your knee back... you can pop your leg backwards with just a small movement of your knee... The pop dont come with the snap but with the right technique,the dance is called popping not snapping... MrWiggles fcked up his knee i think because of that... Good tutorial though !

... look all the OGs from EB, they all have knee problems. This happens 2 ways with the knee rolls and with snapping your knee backwards. Ask any doctor... the rolls are ok(not perfect) with the right movement/technique... but snapping your knee back is really bad for your knee. MrWiggles might not got injured during snapping his leg but is surely was a factor to his knee problem( i was not there but it makes sense to assume that).
+dionisis panagiotatos surely, but so is hip hop in general, now considering the knee, try focusing on the upper leg and butt muscles instead of focusing on snapping your knee, same effect and absolutely safe. That's how this should be taught.

Mike Serds this is what I've heard too, but when I tried to focus on tensing my thigh and butt, it ends up looking like a mini hip thrust (which makes sense because you tense your butt during hip thrust) which this video says is exactly what you are not supposed to do..any suggestions?

I've always found the forward pop to be more comfortable and safer. With enough practice it is just as good as the backwards way.
You can damage your knee snapping it backwards too much or too hard. Be careful.
In_Vas_Por I think this as well. But whenever I do the forward pop it looks like I'm ducking because of the bent leg... Any suggestion on fixing this?

I see how some people do this thing where they pop and their whole body, well, pops. And I see them popping their arms and legs together. However im not sure if they also pop their chests along with their arms and legs. Would anybody know the answer to this?
