Poor Mrs. Kes! I'd read that she'd had a number of confrontations in the breeding seasons leading up to the current one. But I suspect a confrontation like the one with the Jackdaw would have left deep emotionally traumatic scars on any bird, with or without other serious confrontations before or after. Whatever happened to her this season must have been more than she could face again. Hopefully, she survived and is out there someplace quiet learning how to let it go and start life again.
