  • Lufthansa Technik, the world's leading independent provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul, is practicing microservices architecture to speed development of AVIATAR using small autonomous teams. AVIATAR is a cloud-based infrastruture platform for the aviation industry that offers digital products and services for airlines, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), lessors, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO).
The Lufhansa Technik platform team is designing a standardized catalog of Microsoft Azure services to match performance, availability, security, and compliance requirements-as well as the deployment processes of such resources. This could easily cause a bottleneck if every service requested by our development teams was provisioned manually. Additionally, manual provisioning is error-prone.
We established an automation-first mentality with the goal of fully automating resource provisioning with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. We want developer teams to create great software for our customers, but they don't need to become an expert for all types of Microsoft Azure resources. With automation, we can offer a fast, high-quality way to provide required resources to our dev teams. In this session, we will talk about our automation best practices and our challenges.
