My take on this song is that an older (mature) Christina/Demi is/are suggesting to a young audience (Little girls) to speak up about any form of abuse and not to stay silent (I wasn't made to fall in line) - But, majority of the time they will find society will not always believe in them and that if someone speaks up it can be tough (male/dominant figure voice) Also it makes sense to end with that male/dominant voice that says 'Shut your mouth, stick your ass out for me; march - two, three, who told you you're allowed to think?' as majority of the times the aggressor wins (see: Kesha's case). Just because pop music is fun, doesn’t mean it should be completely vacuous. I love that she delivers fantastic vocals, good songs and a message of empowerment. This lyric video alone is very powerful, particularly with the male voice stating, “Who told you you’re allowed to think?” Very topical and apropos considering the onslaught of sexual harassment allegations and overall sexism against women that’s been emerging as of late.

In the song she also sings that "I'm gonna pay for this" which alludes to the fact that the industry doesn't want her to sing about this and will probably punish her for it especially if it wakes some up. The astonishing thing in the video is that she is given the mic by the handlers to sing this song to us. They give them (Christina & Demi) the mic and step out of the frame and that's what we see on TV. Hence they are not completely free whilst singing this song to us; sadly it appears that they've been ordered to sing this song. Plus I notice that even when they escape they are surrounded by monarch butterflies which is a sign that they are still controlled. I've seen that Christina is the only one laying on the field at the end which has led some to speculate that Demi represented Britney and she's still under their control. However I believe it is a way of portraying that Christina's escape only truly occured in her mind.
