Wow I’ve officially learned the best way to gaslight/ cause the Mandela effect is probably to make a trivia game with 1% of the answers being wrong.
I'd say more than 1% of the questions they answered had errors of some type. As a hockey fan, those last two questions were painful. It is the President's Trophy. Dan was right about that. And while Buffalo did draft a fake player, the team name is spelled the Sabres
It's a little bit more than 1%
Imagine the power of looking your friends dead in the eyes and absolutely insisting, "no John that's incorrect. It was the Texas Rake Massacre. No points, next question." Never back down, never look back.
That Gremlins question made me rage
@@MegaVidFan1getting facts wrong about 2 of the most famous movies in the last 50 years is wild
It was on this day that google will have a spike of people randomly searching Texas Rake Massacre
Well it got like 240 searches. That's something I guess.
All I got when I searched Texas Rake Massacre was a tweet from November 2023 about how a rake won't do, and news stories about the guy who killed his wife with a rake in Iowa 😅
@@imveryangryitsnotbutter How do you find that info? Can you find that on your phone?
I definitely contributed to that just now, lol.
@@spiwolf6998 "Google Trends" will let you see the interest in search terms over time, and there's a spike from 0 to 100% search interest in "Texas Rake Massacre" today.
I like how they specifically unchecked the category for ‘70s movies and the very first question is about a movie from 1975.
The first two, even!
that's so messed up. they should patch that.
I have had a similar issue when I played this game myself. It's absolutely a bug 😅
@@wartygourd Patch generic licensed shovelware? That sounds like effort.

That Gremlins one is 100% wrong. I had to open the movie and scrub to it to make sure I wasn’t going crazy.
-No bright light, especially sunlight because it will kill them.
-Do not let them get wet.
-Never feed them after midnight.
Exposing them to the moon technically counts as sunlight, as moonlight is just sunlight being reflected off the moon's surface.

@@AGR04 that's kinda ok tho, I don't blame them for getting rid of many categories. It's the fact that Arin kept rushing the questions and failing earlier everytime that kind of cracked me up tho
This was amazing performance art.
Wow, what a quality game. The Texas Rake Massacre? Don't expose Mogwai to moonlight? One of the questions even said "Stars Wars."
This is disappointing even by the standards of games based on TV shows that were popular 20 years ago.
I just noticed that’s, Jeesh this game…
"And now, a question about Star Wars!"
"Uh, is the answer Star Wars?"
"I...... Yes, it is." (Yelling angrily at an assistant)
I believe the theories that these questions and answers were AI generated and not double-checked.

Why is every trivia game they play broken somehow lmao
Looking up reviews of the game on Steam show that this is like a major problem with it. Someone said it says that Pearl Harbor took place in 989 ad and that what horse riders wear to protect their head is a "bomb" not helmet.
Every time I see anything related to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire all I can think about is that time that a dude on the show, I think here in Sweden nailed every single question without any trouble whatsoever and on the final question, he used the Phone A Friend lifeline to call his mum or something, but not to ask for help, he just called to tell her that he was gonna win the million and then nailed it on his own
I am 100% convinced the Texas Chainsaw question was a bug!
Just got to the gremlins question and i feel like someone somewhere got fired and put in wrong answers to these questions as a final F-U to their bosses!
Probably Gremlins as well. AI generated game.
I think the question about Gremlins was also wrong
Makes you start to wonder what other wrong answers they were sure of were bugs
Yeah, I just checked, they shouldn't have lost those.
What the hell? A trivia game that flags the wrong answers? Thats incredibly frustrating and would be an immediate uninstall 🤬
Honestly, I'd be asking for a refund, tbh.

Ummm...I'm not 100% sure, but I'm about 110% sure that the 1974 film, directed by Tobe Hooper, was NOT called the Texas Rake Massacre. That's a bug.
Actually, after the Mogwai question, I'm pretty sure the "answer validation team" hasn't watched any movies made prior to the year 2000
Starring Sideshow Bob
Or the game was written by AI
@@Amins88 Naw, the game was written by the French who don't know their movie trivia.
Based on the dialogue in this game, there's a non-zero chance that they don't even speak English.
@@Mario583a Actually, taking "Don't feed after midnight" and "Don't expose to sunlight" and creating a bastardized amalgamation of the two as "Don't expose to the moon" is exactly something an AI would do.
Nearly spat out my soda at the Gremlin question. Everyone who’s seen the movie knows it’s don’t expose them to bright lights, especially sunlight (not moonlight), don’t get them wet and don’t feed them after midnight. The game devs effed up on that one.
I've never even seen the movie, nor do I know what it's about, but I still know the answer because it's basically a meme at this point. How the game developers got it wrong is beyond me.
28:10 that was an IMPRESSIVE scream Arin; being far from the mic helped the vibe of it lol
I was in the process of pulling this game up on the Nintendo shop to buy because of the fun movie categories... and then it got two super easy movie questions wrong (Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Gremlins). Thanks for warning me, Dan and Arin!
Ahh yes everyones favourite horror movie The Texas Rake Massacre...wtf???
Starring one of the all time greatest horror movie villains: Leaferface
That gremlins answer unironically pissed me off >:(
Rule one: don't expose to sunlight (death)
Rule 2: don't get wet (duplication)
Rule 3: don't feed after midnight (evolves into gremlin)
And most importantly never Kiss your Mogwai in the moonlight 🌙
When is it safe to feed them then, 6am?
I only kiss dad mogwai
"One-he loves bright light, but moonlight will kill him.
Two-he must be *_m o i s t_* at all times.

@@daztora True, actually... it's after midnight all the time. That's the perfectly worst time to base that rule around. If it was like 6 pm or something, it would at least make sense... but midmight? There is no clear indication of when it's after or before midnight.
I totally understand that smart Tv frustration in the beginning 😂 like just make a TV that turns on immediately and does what I want it to
I have one from TCL and it's great. Responsive, no lag, saves my place in videos when I change apps or inputs or even turning it off. It actually works right.

Not only did the Colts move out of Baltimore in the middle of the night, the local news managed to catch the vans. The moving company, Mayflower vans, got so much hate and harassment that they were forced to move out of Maryland completely, which is still in effect today.
They took everything except the band uniforms and the only reason they didn't get those was because they happened to be getting washed at the time.
This comment sent me down a several hour long rabbit hole.
the grumps guessing correctly and the game being like WOMP WOMP LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER has brightened my day tbh i'm laughing so hard
Guys, either your copy of the game is bugged, or the person in charge of writing the questions and answers failed miserably. You're not crazy - There is no such thing as a "Texas Rake Massacre" and there is no rule involving the moon for Mogwais (there IS the rule about them hating bright lights, but nothing about the moon or moonlight specifically). You were correct in both instances.
I just had a thought. If they're emulating it what if it's a failsafe for pirated copies? I heard Spyro had a really mean one back in the day where the game just breaks in new ways. But in reality it's probably just a broken game, these are the things I think about when I don't sleep.
@@cutecats532 this is a 4 year old PC game you can buy on Steam that they have recent DLC for. You don’t emulate PC games. Also I very highly doubt there’s any sort of failsafe in this game, and if there was it definitely wouldn’t be “1% of the questions provide wrong answers”
@@abysslight2490 You absolutely can pirate PC games but devs just don't put failsafes in games anymore because it doesn't really do anything, all it does is have loads of people think you've got a broken game

That Texas Massacre answer being 'rake' at 6:24 really confused the heck out of me, and I tried looking to see if there was some actual massacre or if Tobe Hooper accidentally called it the Texas Rake Massacre in an interview or something, and I think...they just flagged the wrong thing as the answer. Which is very frustrating and weird.
Edit: And now at 16:57, they flagged the wrong answer again - it's exposed to bright light like sunlight that will kill them! Whoever made the theme categories for 80s and 90s movies did a terrible job - especially considering the Texas Chainsaw Massacre was released in the 70s so that one shouldn't have even shown up.
I looked it up too, just in case there was *anything* out there, and it has to be a bug in the game. I couldn't find anything either.
yes, that has to be some sort of data error.... wasn't a rake!

28:18 There's that old Arin rage we know and love.
Don't think anyone's called out the Manga question as being iffy too. Legend of Galactic Heroes is literally the only one that WASN'T made this century. Like, are they doing a "gotcha" and not counting it as a manga because it was a series of novels first?
I'm wildly uncertain of that myself. The plot involves a lot of fleet-level tactics and maneuvering shenanigans, so I have to wonder if it was either direct to anime or if it started as a light novel. ... Looking it up, the series of SF novels were from 82-89, the anime started in 88 and went to like 93, and the manga went from 86 to 2000, fully bracketing the main long-running series... so that's weird. Also looking back at the question "not a classic manga" is loaded and weird. I'm more confused than before now.
and the other 3 "classics" are all post 2005 (13-19 yo classics, huh?), and at least personally I've never heard of them on the "classics" conversation either so I had to google what they even were
I appreciate you guys looking into this one. I had heard if Galactic Heroes, so it was the only one I was confident was a classic.
I think that's literally it, that Legend of the Galactic Heroes is being considered a Book and Anime series first, and therefore not really a manga. And you're right that's still weird, bc yeah, none of the other entries are old enough to be considered "classic manga" by most people I know.
Arin's "FUUUUUUUUCKKKKKK" at 20:04 has me still in stitches!
Arin and Dan were certainly not raking in the cash after they were both victims of the Texas Rake Massacre.
When asked "who's a sith" Jar Jar Binks should absolutely count
When the Colts left Baltimore in the middle of the night, all they left behind were the marching band uniforms at the dry cleaners 😅 John Ziemann hid the instruments so those couldn't be taken. The marching band absolutely refused to be disbanded. They continued to play without a football team at picnics, parades, and other NFL games. Their efforts are a big reason football came back to Baltimore in '96 💜🖤
"Take it off the list, Arin."
*"FUCK!"*
Ahaha
You have no idea how much I love trivia games and game shows, and I love watching you guys play them. I'm also raging at the fact that some of the questions are blatantly incorrect.
The "smart" part of all smart appliances should be a module that's removable with simple household tools
I really do wonder if these questions are getting generated by AI, given that multiple questions about movies were flat out wrong.
I mean, this game's dev and pub is French, so..........
Wasn't this game made in 2020?
This game was not made when AI was to the point its even at now.... And I guarantee you no one is updating this game regularly. Even after the port. It's 10+ years old AT LEAST. People really thinking AI is at fault? No... It's just bad proofreading and checking.
@@CrazeeAdam Someone IS updating this game regularly. A ton of the categories you can see right now that weren't in older episodes were released as DLC content THIS year in 2024, with the "Microsoft Video Games" category coming out as recently as 3 months ago. Also this game is 4 years old, I don't know where you're getting 10+ years from. The suspicion of AI usage comes from the fact that all these incorrect answers, as well as some really awkwardly worded questions and answers like "What is the Title of Star Wars? Star Wars. Correct!" and the Princess Bride one, and some inconsistencies in the answers (The NHL award is the Presidents' TROPHY, the Presidents' Cup is a golf tournament) come from the new DLC categories, that just so happened to have come out during the current generative AI boom.

If that isn't the setup for a The Simpsons episode with Sideshow Bob as the main antagonist, it's a huge missed opportunity. Heck, Tree House of Horrors is just around the corner.
