I barely play center but as a guard I understand that if I happen to be next to the center I will make it a priority to just box him out so that my center can easily position and grab board. It's such a simple rule that many players don't follow. The opposing center always runs around your other teamates for free and end up getting board when it could've been avoided easily.
I salute you and I agree. Everyone just runs to leak out. 2k really shows who understands the concepts of basketball and who just wants to score. Hate majority of the community 😂
Anyone should box out so, if you could box a center than your defender failed boxing you out, if you're able to good for you but then your defender just failed
Even if you have no box out beast, the worm animation that your opposing center will be doing on your teammates allows for more than enough time for your teams center or PF to reposition themselves and get the board easily.
Ok so its not just me. Every center has 96+ rebound. Nobody I play with helps box out, even power forwards sprint up court for fast breaks. I have to defend pick n rolls/pops block shots and box out these running 99 o board guys. But I have to play against 2-3 zone teams and even their guards box me out. I don't feel bad for giving up 20 boards a game.
Yeah this is what most of the playerbase never understands. Getting rebounds starts with boxing out and it's not just a center job. It's not a "skill issue" to not get the rebound while boxing out, because even the opponent has likely higher rebound. Whoever is directly under the paint has the priority to boxout first and then think about the rebound, but either the 3 or the 4 will just stand there watching in awe while maybe they are even getting cut off by their man chasing the board...

Hey laker, can you drop an inside center build for pro am?
What motion style do have equip
I have 2 SF builds and neither have high rebounding at all but I get put at PF more than half my games. I try to crash the boards and box out every possession but the other team has Cs as PF usually so they just grab it right over me even when I box them. I feel bad but can’t help it lol
1:58 passed a free dunk
Hooks! I don’t get it. Why do I need my jumpshot meter on for them? Can somebody explain if it’s possible to use layup timing for them!
I have an 85 vert, 85 defensive rebound and 75 offensive rebound with a 89 agility and I barely get rebounds over people. I guess I need rebound chaser on at least gold.
Boxing out plays a big part
Yeah but in certain situations there’s no need to box out. Like if me and my teammate are going for a defensive rebound they’ll always react quicker than me if that makes sense. Like they’ll jump faster, I always get a late reaction when it comes to rebounding. I think now that there’s legend badges in the game, having silver badges is pretty much pointless.
Rule number 1 for better boards: learn to worm
Tertiary we getting nerdy🤣
Is there a screen setting vid
Im sure your teammates blame u a lot for them missing when you set them screens 😂 happens to me all the time
How do you swim around them with boxout
What the best inside big motion style?
Giannis
I’m gonna give y’all a simple cheat to not make a bad C for Rec. Make the pro-tuned Paint Bully build. If/when you reach starter 3, get 99 O Board. You are now Prime Wilt Chamberlain. Thank me later.
Does anyone know why every time I grab an offensive board my player tries to do a putback?
Bro my putbacks always end up in some post fade looking layup and it’s a miss even wide open😭 I have contacts too and Ariel wizard
Someone please tell me why my player always goes for the putback when i press Y when I go for an offensive rebound
Cause you’re holding LT RT
Anyone have any thoughts about motion style for rebounding? Limited testing so far, and I can't really tell a difference between, Caruso, Suggs, and Rodman.
Been using cade and seen an improvement with on ball defense and rebounding
Every time I press square it does a put back
This year they are really punishing you if you can't box out
so big bigs are even worse this year?
Be honest, is standing dunks cooked this year
Haven’t really tried enough, been on the 6’8 so much. I might try and roll with the 6’10 for content and labbing purposes soon
thanks for the nerdy stuff
I made a rat build where I can get boxout gold and silver rebound as a guard I just box out their big eveytime so my homeboy can grab the rebound they be mad asl 😂😂
I’ve seen players with 92+ reb and my sf wit a 60 reb gets it over them. Ion kno how it b happenin but it does
How do you put back dunk?
X+RT
generationally early
need this as a 6’7 center
Ugh so annoyed Terrence Manns base and release is sooo different this year almost every jumper I used last year had 1 or the other!
