My first Willys was a 1946 CJ and I was 10 Years old. Had wood blocks on the pedals and I sat on two Sears cateloges . I hauled our family water supply from a community well ten miles away in two 5 gallon water jugs. No top and no heater...we lived in the mountains so snow was ever present..lol I am a old man now...have had @15 Willys over the years. Never was without one. I currently have a 52 Wagon restored. I view a Willys like the family dog....part of the family. Would never be without one. Nothing more relyable nor faithful ..except My dog Mr. Jaxon! My wife is gone, my kids left town, my friends have passed..but my Willys...she is always here...a little more make up now days but...she is beautiful! Yes, get a Willys!
I should add ..my current Willys was from Ft. Carson Colorado..was n service until mid @60's. O.D. green. I rescued it from someone who wS gonna butcher it up. If you buy one...keep it original, restore and enjoy. We f you butcher it..you will become bored with it and a pittle history gets lost at the same time!
Had an opportunity to trade a Grand Cherokee for a 1945 CJ2A last year, she’s in rough- ROUGH shape. Very hacked and hobbled together. Decades of poorly welded patch panels(originally a Maine vehicle), but I’m glad to have taken on the challenge and be a part of the vintage Willys community.
I had this dream to own a Jeep 35 years ago, could not afford the prices asked then, so I bought a wreck and re made it, now I have 2 of them, great fun to drive through the vineyards.
Started my jeep restoration and wouldn't have taken on this project had it not been for your detailed and informative videos! THANK YOU SCOTT!!! Hoping more videos are posted in the future on assembly. Please keep them coming!
Thank you again for taking the time to make these videos. I would love to own one and hopefully will one day. Your videos I find very inspiring and more importantly fun. From me here in the UK thanks 👍
Thanks for this! Your videos pushed me to go ahead and get my dream Jeep! 1942 script tub GPW. The videos have been very helpful! Keep up the great work. Would love to see more in-depth videos on sheet metal repair techniques and painting techniques.
