I've used Hotwire at least 20 times and never been disappointed with my hotel selection. Also, I've never seen a situation where they hint toward a hotel and it's not that hotel. If you see the language "The last person got...blank". In my experience blank is the hotel. Good luck and let me know how it turns out? Thanks for watching!
@@amoneyy4209 Generally I wouldn’t worry about using hot rates any more than any other booking. I’ve used hot rates at least 15-20 times and have always been good with my hotel selection. Read the listing thoroughly and remember if Hotwire gives you any hints, it’s usually pretty easy to figure out what hotel it’s is. Good luck and hope you get a great booking!
Big thanks for checking out the video and sharing your experience! Yes you’re right! Often the hotel website has the best deal, I usually start there. But that’s not always the case and sometimes you can get pretty great savings with 3 rd party bookings including the hot rates. It’s worth taking time to compare a few websites. And yes the hot rates aren’t refundable but often time 3rd party bookings are cancellable too.
That’s a great piece of information! Thanks for sharing. Often I’m able to figure out which hotel the hot rate is before booking but it would be better to know 100%!!
Thanks for watching! Just trying to have fun making videos ha! And you can find some really great deals on Hotwire too! Also guessing the hotel can be kinda fun.
@@fitnessnbeer9835 ok I downloaded the app! I am such a nerd with the price comparisons I will spend a hour shopping between them all to save 5 dollars! 😂 thanks again for the video! Make more! 😉
@@JenniferSparksSavoy If you’re that person I think you’ll have fun with the Hot Rates.🤣 I’ve never been dissatisfied with a Hot Rate selection. I’ve been wrong on the guess before (super rare) but it’s always so comparable to what I was thinking that it was good. Lots of times they basically tell you. If you see the language “The last person got...blank”. That’s the hotel. If you book a hot rate let me know how it turns out? Good luck!
I was not able to do the "hack". I'm not certain if it's because of how many hotels they were or what. Either way I prayed and went for the 🔥 deal and got a great hotel and saved almost $500. Thanks again!
Glad that it worked out well! You can’t always figure the hotel out but a good percentage of the time you can. And often they give you hints or narrow it down to 1 of 2, or 1 of 3 choices. (When they give you selections you can often figure out which hotel by repeatedly clicking into it and see which hotel doesn’t change) But even if you guess wrong, the selection is usually going to be so comparable to what you thought that it’s still going to be cool anyway. Thanks for sharing!!
Super glad it was helpful and that you got a good booking! Also check out the other video I did on Hotwire and vacation savings tips because I give an actual example of Hotwire savings (I show a real booking I made with screenshots and pricing examples). Hotwire isn’t perfect but can be great way to save on hotels if you pay attention and have a little flexibility.
So what I learned from the video, is that it may or may not be worth it depending on my needs. The only thing, that puts me off is the fact you don't know what hotel your getting until you pay for it. I mean it sounds worth it, but like I say not knowing what hotel is the deal-breaker for me.
Thanks for watching! And yes, I understand that booking a hotel without knowing the name can be scary but it is great way to save money if you’re willing to try it. I didn’t do a good job of explaining that most of the time it’s pretty easy to figure out what the hotel is or at least be able to narrow it down to a couple of options. Lastly I’ve booked Hot Rates at least a couple of dozen times and I’ve never been disappointed with the hotel selection. I’ve always been fortunate to get the caliber of property I believed I was booking.
LOL, thanks for watching. Yeah, love that tee, it's too funny! I buy most of my tees off of Donkey Tees in case you're curious. They have some pretty funny designs.
Love to hear that! And I truly hope it was helpful! I've had the best luck using Hotwire over any other discounted 3rd party website. I've used Hotwire like 15-20 times and have always been satisfied with my hotel selection. Thanks for watching!
I just made a reservation using hotwire and a few minutes later I called the hotel to confirm my room but they didn’t find it, so they’re telling me it will take 24-48 h to see the register, do you think is trustworthy? Do you have any similar situation?
I believe Hotwire is legitimate and is the same company as hotels.com. Honestly, I’ve never called to make sure my reservation is there right after booking but it’s always been there when we arrived. And I’ve used Hotwire dozens of times so I’m pretty confident in it. If something does go wrong I think you would be refunded but most likely your reservation will show. Please let me know if it doesn’t show. But I sincerely hope it does and that you have a great trip!
They’re usable for flights but not special. Generally I find flight prices to be consistent across platforms. You can save by booking flight and accommodations together but that’s the same as on most other platforms. The best savings on Hotwire is with booking hotels. Thanks for watching!
Unfortunately you can’t book a Hot Rate as part of a bundle with a flight included. You can book a flight and hotel bundle on Hotwire but you’ll choose your hotel by name for a potentially discounted price for booking together.
I had a fun time making this video! 🤣 Real talk, I’ve had success using Hotwire hot rates but under the right circumstances. Huge thanks for watching and commenting!!
I’ve gotten really good deals on Hotwire! I mean crazy good deals! For example I’ve gotten a room listed for $260 for $120. But $8 seems too good to be true so I don’t think I’d trust that listing. Hotwire is legit but I’m still skeptical about that posting. $8/nite mite be worth the risk🤷🏾♂️
The deals may be good but be careful if anything goes wrong they will not help you in any way. Theyre customer service is crap. I highly recommend you do NOT use hotwire.
I’m sorry to hear that. My experience has always been good.but I have not dealt with customer service much. I’ve always been happy with my hotel selection and never had a problem with my booking. It’s disappointing to hear a service I recommend let you down!
Beware of Hotwire when you book these deals. These hot deals are non refundable. Customer service sucks when anything goes wrong. Please read very carefully. I purchased there car insurance. Once I arrived at the car agency, I was told I couldn't use this insurance and had to have my own Full coverage insurance. What if you don't own a car? I was out of money and couldn't the car.
Oh wow, I hate to hear that! Why could you not use the insurance you purchased? Definitely sounds like a bum deal and you should have been refunded! Fortunately, I've had all good experiences with hotwire and my bookings have lived up to their listing; but I've only used them for hotels. I also recommend only using "Hot Rates" close to your travel dates or when you're 100% sure that you're not going to cancel. Thanks a bunch for watching and sharing your experience!
I purchased a midsize SUV from Hotwire website using their Hot Rate Car pricing on 12/6 and I was provided with itenary number *******069 and confirmation was booked with Hertz. Hertz lists the car as small size SUV. When I call Hotwire, they say the sales are final, but I am going to get only a small size SUV because it can be considered Midsize, eventhough Hertz has Small, MidSize and Large SUV category. They short change the customer with their pricing by booking a small SUV. If I really wanted a small SUV I could have purchased a smaller car for much lower price. Scam company at best!
Yo big thanks for contributing! And you absolutely should be annoyed. It’s both Hotwire’s and Hertz’s responsibility to make sure their listings are accurate. Im not sure who’s responsible for the listing? Id also make a point of it with Hertz when picked up my car. Sometimes you get lucky with a nicer vehicle anyway due to what is available. Hope that happens for you or they make it right! I only use Hotwire for Hotels and Resorts they’re not my favorite for flights or cars. I’ve had good luck with my experiences and saved money. I don’t think they’re a scam company, but they’re still wrong in this case. They should honor the listing as it was presented!
