Time to up-grade to a property out-of-town, that has room for a substantial warehouse type building. Or ideally has one already on site, ready to use. The money you're spending on gas, meals out, storage fees, trailer storage, and the all-important time and convenance factor of every thing in one place would be invaluable. One of the most important factors will be all that money would be going to help pay for something YOU OWN. It will make life easier as your family expands. Nobody wants to have to pack up the baby to go do shipping, etc.
I agree with you on the table, you need a good table, when I started out I used my dining table which killed my back. My son is very good at making furniture, he custom made me a shipping table which is perfect for me. He measured how tall I needed it so I didn't have to bend and put on a white easy to clean top, it has 9 drawers and 2 open shelves. As always I love your videos!!
Glad you switched to paper. It works really well for all but the most delicate things (even then use bubble wrap AND paper). Plus it is recyclable and reusable. Win-win. Thanks for the video!
1. You don’t need to justify what you have, personal or business. 2. Economists say you need 2 months income as a cushion in case of need so you’re on the right track. Bravo!
I got a used rollo printer on marketplace for $75. Great investment. Also got a giant quality scale at a goodwill auction for $12 with 35 lb max, accurate to 1/10 oz. I also just use white card stock on the walls and table from the $1 store for our pics.. And I collect used boxes at my 9-5 job! I'm soooo cheap! Oh, my shipping table is one of those 4000 pound banquet tables that my father in law salvaged (from a school he cleaned) when they tossed it! FREE 99
I get a lot of paper now in packing. It has many reuses for crafting and packing for storage or moving. Plus, it's not as annoying and environmentally unsound as styrofoam, peanuts, and the ever fun bubble wrap. ❤
All of my grown kids order from Amazon & give me their boxes & packing materials! I never have to buy boxes, except for records. Saves a lot of money money!
Ive learned so much watching your videos. Found some Orvis yesterday and a FJ polo and i would have just passed them by had I not learned their resale value from you. Thank you Julien and Kayla! ❤
went to the bins today...picked up a skillet and when paying the person said not to bother weighing the skillet..got it for free....it's a wagnerware Sidney 0 1401 d.....not bad for free, needs cleaning but not rusty or wobbly.
I started during Covid listed everything I had around the house so my daughter and I both keep items to list just incase we can’t get out of a week or month. It’s smart!!!
😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻 Call local body shops. And ask them if they have the size you need. My husband said they get a lot of strong boxes every week. Tuesday and Wednesday are the best days to get them at his place. P. S. I have not forgotten the bead pictures. I just haven't recovered enough to unbox them and take the pictures.
You guys made me switch from primarily bubble to bubble and paper. I just started about a year ago and the best things I did was have my grandpa make me a custome shipping and photo station. It was only $200 but fits my space perfectly
I enjoy your videos (watch them while I cook or do artwork projects 🤭). Shipping things? Use hot air popcorn popper and cheap popcorn; no storage issues, no need to order online, AND it’s super lightweight. Person receiving the order can throw it outside for the critters. POPCORN IS A PERFECT SHIPPING MATERIAL! I actually have a video about this!
Great video. Definitely needed the box size for golf clubs. My son has accumulated about 60 or more we have to get listed -- all good brand names. Thanks for the great videos and helpful information.
I do resale a tiny bit. I sold a western saddle on eBay. Wow I had to be creative on packing that. I use to sell eggs (until a predator for the second time killed all the hens. I gave up after 20 years with chickens.) I had lots of egg boxes, they worked great shoving them down into the empty spaces! Saddle arrived just fine. Actually I have sold 3 saddles on eBay.
I use bubble for large electronics and pool noodles cut down for corners and edges...they really make for good backing for cheap..like cents at the bins.
Where do you get you shipping supplies like the bags you put shirts in or blankets in? What is your average that you spend on shipping supplies per month? Between your storage unit/shipping/thrifting/shipping supplies/ booth... Do you consistently come out ahead? Great job you guys!!!! Thanks for your videos to you both. See you over on WN!
I had just posted this somewhere else. I had been looking up the best ways to store old newspapers and finally found a group of archivists that gave me some good advice. The acid-free newspaper sleeves are a great choice. Laying the newspaper as flat as you can, so size matters, the larger ones so you can fold out to lay flat. Also, inside, between the newspaper and the acid-free sleeve (on both sides) put 60# hard white card stock cut to match the full flat size of the acid-free sleeve (not just the newspaper, but the full sleeve.) Take a photo of the front of your newspaper, print out an 8.5x11 and put it in front so you know which one is in that sleeve. Store flat and in a cool, dry area.
I use mostly paper with some bubble where needed on breakables. My neighbor just gave me a ton of packing paper from their move so I am set for awhile!
Quick question: when buying a storage unit, how do you determine a cost price for each item "purchased"? Do you include items that you don't sell, or just count the items worth your time listing? Example: the unit costs $300, has only 10 items worth listing, so $30 per item for Cost of Goods.
I've been shooting on six foot foldout resin tables for 24 years. One or more tables are placed outside on the shaded side of a building. When we built our own four car garage we placed a wide cement sidewalk along the east and north end of the garage that connects to the west four lane wide driveway. Smaller items are typically shot on tables placed on the sidewalks. The tables are covered in a six foot roll out black treadmill mat. I cover the tables with items, shoot them all, put those items away and then repeat the process with a new batch of items. I can walk around each side of the tables shooting items from various angles, which is faster than having to constantly move items while holding your camera or setting down your camera each time you need to move an item for and different angled shot. This allows for hundreds of items to be shot very quickly. No messing with shooting tents, lighting, shadows from indoor shooting, grainy photos from limited indoor lighting or restricted space. So if I have bunch of collector plates to shoot I'll fill one or more tables with plates face up - typically three staggered rows per table. I quickly shoot the fronts of each plate, set my camera down, flip all the plates over and shoot all the backs in the same order. My 12 year old Canon Rebel crop frame camera with its kits lens, battery grip for extended shooting periods and Class 10 SD card will shoot far faster and better quality photos than a phone. I drop batches of photos into PhotoShop, crop each one in 4-5 seconds, and then use a custom Action to automatically save and close all the open images so this does have to be done manually. Sometimes a very light object, such as paper, will appear too dark so I apply another Action that automatically corrects the color. I do not waste time with any applications that claim to remove or replace the background. Larger items, such as steamer trunks, are placed on a 12 foot by 12 foot section of gray outdoor low pile carpet that is rolled out on the driveway. We sweep a portion of the driveway first and place some large foldout sections of cardboard under the carpet (very large free boxes with the side seam separated). We usually accumulate several large items so they can be shot all at once unless it a high end piece we want to immediately move.
Especially for you and your wife it's mandatory to have a stock pile 🤑 a successful business needs inventory 😅 the more the better 😇💪 especially when buying storage units , you have to buy when the buying is good 😅 and having thrift stores close by like you do you have to take a peak for them bolos 🤗
A seller I buy from uses the postal envelopes you can get for free for packaging material. They have a small amount of bubble wrap in them. One box had 8 empty envelopes in it.
Hey if guys ever come across some military surplus or vintage Carhartt I'd be really interesting especially if you find like a Detroit jacket in large / extra large. Love the videos and the info
I'm lucky enough that I have neighbors that save their empty boxes, leave them on the front porch... so every once in a while I have to double box something -- not a problem.. Harbor Freight also makes some fluorescent non fluorescent lights they are gangable.. sometimes people put things out of the curb with a Craigslist curb alert..Laxvespa--LosAngeles
my problem is lighting. I have an android phone and cannot find something to do pics inside. Ring light didn't work. I see Kayla has compact fluorescent bulbs in her office. Thoughts?
Kid is the goat. I loved him in that movie. I used to make my own toys also when I was a kid and blow them up and shit I wasn’t a p word though like he was 😂😂😂
I saw a fly fishing vest, hunting jackets and pants at my Goodwill on Monday. They split the jackets and pants up that were a set and priced at $15 each. Jackets and pants/jeans go for a maximum of $10 there typically. Saw a brand new Victoria's Secret tote bag for $18.99 (people don't even buy them online for half that). A pair of shoes I looked up that sells for $25 free shipping, they were asking for $35. And a baseball cap at $12.99. I'm going to need to look into other methods to source, this is getting insane 😅 Thanks to you guys, I'm going to see about checking local auctions and in the future would love to do storage units.
Ha, if the country does shut down, we won’t have internet to sell online! If we even have power! You should’ve kept all your gold and silver, it’ll be one of the only ways to buy stuff if $hit hits the fan! IYKYK
I know rules/laws can vary from state to state, but how do you two insure all of it? You're using your home and vehicles, making merch, booth, storage units and your trailer. Do you have a commercial policy or do you use your homeowners and personal auto policies?
A Greedwill employee wants to start reselling?? You don't say! That's why we don't bother with GW anymore. Getting extremely difficult to find good deals in Colorado. Yard sales? They want near retail prices. It's so ridiculous here. Californians doing California thangs.
"If you went to church you had a potluck on one of those tables" LOL YES YEA YUP!

You two absolutely make my day!! I love watching you to get my day started on a happy and positive note!! THANK YOU!!
I agree thermal printers are the way to go and natural light from windows or just outside makes great pics ❤

Free Uline shipping, good deal! I still box hunt, but I found it makes a bigger mess at home because the boxes aren't flat.
1:31 I 100% agree on paper vs bubble wrap & peanuts, except when the paper makes a significant difference in package weight & shipping cost.
Ive learned so much watching your videos. Found some Orvis yesterday and a FJ polo and i would have just passed them by had I not learned their resale value from you. Thank you Julien and Kayla! ❤

Get boxes from stores. Sometimes I score nice odd sized ones etc.
Thanks for the Unaline Company shipping discount week information.
Great sold items! Thank you for trying to help us I really appreciate it. Have a wonderful week ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
From Australia ❤❤ you two make me laugh all the time, luv your work thanks for sharing luv your videos as always ❤❤
I started during Covid listed everything I had around the house so my daughter and I both keep items to list just incase we can’t get out of a week or month. It’s smart!!!
If you went to church, you had a potluck… honestly made me laugh out loud. Been there, done that.

Interesting, I never thought of that!
This is quickly becoming my favorite channel of the two yall have. Thanks for the content brother.
Thanks for sharing. Julian you are definitely a joker❤😊
Great tips. I always wish I had got my thermal printer sooner!

You guys are awesome very informative even though I am not a reseller I love watching you and I love the giggles from behind the camera❤❤❤
I worked at my church and had to set up those tables for parties and just remembered the work out it was 😅 now I know how I messed up my back 😂
I use bubble for large electronics and pool noodles cut down for corners and edges...they really make for good backing for cheap..like cents at the bins.

Julian, what bait did you use at the cabin when you caught all of those bass in TN?
Got my Starbucks glass I won on your Whatnot. Can’t say thank you enough. You guys are great!

Y’all are the best !
Trying to find the free shipping on Uline. Is it only for some customers or minimum amount purchase? TY….love watching you both!
In line at Trader Joe’s another gone viral item. Mini canvas totes.😊 Yours will be in the mail 🎉😊Now I can watch this while standing in line.😂
Great video. Great business tips!
Thank you for all of the information. Great video.
Are you guys still going to get a warehouse ? I have to say, I am very impressed by how coordinated your storage unit is .
Thermal printers are awesome and even cheaper. No ink or paper and I actually use the labels from Temu and so far so good.
😊💕
Hey if guys ever come across some military surplus or vintage Carhartt I'd be really interesting especially if you find like a Detroit jacket in large / extra large. Love the videos and the info
I go between Amazon and Ebay same product can be a few dollars cheaper. Pretty sure the same vender will post on both with minor price difference.
❤❤❤

i am so looking forward to your christmas whatnot shows. I'm saving my $15 credit until then. 🎄
I’m so excited!I can’t wait!!!
I heard on another channel that the $15.00 credit is only good for 30 days. Not sure if that is true or not but maybe worth checking into.
Paper is so much better environmentally! Good decision!
they make peanuts from corn that are very environmentally friendly. they melt in water
Great job
I get packing paper and bubble wrap from people who have moved and are offering it up for someone else to take.
my problem is lighting. I have an android phone and cannot find something to do pics inside. Ring light didn't work. I see Kayla has compact fluorescent bulbs in her office. Thoughts?
Toy Story kid is Sid Phillips (no relation 😉).
Kid is the goat. I loved him in that movie. I used to make my own toys also when I was a kid and blow them up and shit I wasn’t a p word though like he was 😂😂😂
Great information and how to hints. Keep it up.
What thermal printer do you have? I got that wasn't compatible with my iPhone.
Just a FYI, you might want to find a Granger store, they usually have boxes cheaper than anywhere else.
Thank you!!!! I just found a store by me. Wow great prices.
Thermal printer is the best investment I made, and I am only a part time seller.
Sid as the kids name!
Julian, What was the size of the golf club box?
4x4x48
A man’s foot starts at 10 anything under a 10 is just a big child. And before I get lit up here I wear a size 12 😂
If you need books about Mustangs, let me know. I work at a used book store!
When you grocery shop, ask for paper bags instead of plastic. The bags are very sturdy for packing material and pad the boxes great.
Great idea!!
🙂
My SIl is the queen of amazon shopping. I raid her box room
Goto a news paper or a big printer and you can get rolls of paper for cheap if not free!!
SID is the toy story kid.
u-line is specific friendly ...
Julian is Syd!! Does that make Kayla Bo Peep?

My local Goodwill's prices are almost retail. They must have a person doing the pricing that checks eBay, and prices just under eBay prices.
