The Brotherhobby and HGLRC 2004 is the best performing motor in the class at this moment (totally my opinion from what I've seen) They come in at sub 17g with motor wires and have the normal 1.5mm shaft. (Since the lack of the ability to pick from a variety of props will make it harder) We have a local racing legend, Farmlife FPV, with the brotherhobby VY. Running 550ma 6S 75c packs. He was faster around the track and longer in the air than he ever was with his older 20x20 6S 2306.5 BMS motor setup running a 1400mah 6S. That being said he was the Best SA performing pilot at world's 2019. So his flying is insane, and the quad motors don't heat up and the overall amp draw was 72amps. And is able to get a 19:1 thrust to weight ratio There is alot of potential in these builds, and in terms of track performance, cost of parts, momentum in to crashes are significantly less. All this being said. The 250g mark is insane, but has set a benchmark that will push innovation for all us FPV RC addicts 😉
Could also consider using the Brother Hobby 2004, if I remember correctly they come in at 16g each and you have more prop options. These Xings might have a little more top end grunt, and the Nazgul props are pretty good though.
iFlight just sent me a few of these motors and beast aios to test. I am so excited to see how your build performs, and I may have to copy your frame choice...
Looks like this should be a really fun build! If you want to make it under the 250g mark, look into going with the gnb 3s 1100mah 130c pack and 2800-3300 kv. You'll get weight reduction, less battery sag and surprisingly good results. I've really enjoyed my setup with 2203 3450 kv and Gemfan 5125 props running on that gnb pack.
All I do is split the wires for 5v and grd if missing pad space. Ive done basically the same build with Brother Hobby YV 2004 1950kv motors and Predator 5.
Dangit! I think you just inspired me to jump on the ultralight bandwagon. It will be 100% custom and completely over engineered in typical bennymack fasion of course.
Was trying to build that setup, but i had a hard time getting a frame to be able to fit those M2 motors and FC :P Mistakes were made along the way ;) Awesome build anyway!
Kind of curious what you are studying in school. Been watching you since you were flying in the hallway. Sure has been fun watching your progression. I fly a lot of L.O.S. too. Peace out Seth. When I solder I just love my magnifying visor. Makes all that small work so much easier.
May you share your tune? I am currently building a quite similar quad and some values for reference would be really nice 🙂 (Beast H7, 22035 2500kv 4s, ELRS+Vtx combo)
Have you done a 22:1 thrust:weight ratio yet sir id love to see you do that and its obtainable at 400gram so u can use fpv. Motors needed TOA LITE 2306 2450kv 2280 gram thrust at 63.4amp using 51499 tri blade weigh 31.4g without cables so say 33gr. 132gr -motors there are some light 50g frames , hobbywing 30x30 60amp 4-1 15gr fc-3.3 gr vtx 5gr camera 2gr antenna 3gr . 32gr total need alight battery to provide 255amp's of burst so the Lumenier N2O Feather-Lite 1150mAh 6s 130c LiPo Battery which has 250c burst at 180grams 250 times 1.15 is 287.5amp of burst power. so 132gr +50gr +32gr+16gr (props) = 228gr quad + 180gr battery 408gr can use titanium motor screws and prob save 3gr. also probably other 60amp or even 50amp mini stacks that provide enough burst for motors to get to 395gr but anyways 2280gr x4 is 9120gr thrust . 9120/408gr = 22.35:1 thrust:power ratio! then at 395gr would be 23:1 thrust:weight ratio. Now how accurate is static thrust when they measure thrust on motors vs how much thrust its putting out based on weight gravity etc when flying full rip idk prob lot of math involved but most people use thrust data given just as u probably did to determine the 15:1 . But 15:1 honestly is not that impressive . yea fast as shit but imagine 22:1 so id like to see a new thrust ratio king build . i done hours of searching to find motor data and best motors etc. U can also get a 21:1 ratio on 4s using there 2208 2650kv motors will provide like 1880gr thrust at 16.2V and 52amp so a fully charged 4s could do 16v for a second maybe fully charged which can lighten the battery down to 130gr but that 50gr saving in weight bringing quad to 350gr and having 400gr less thrust per motor give u a less thrust to weight ratio at 350gr so the 6s way is the stronger one.
Nice build. I'm using a Fouride 5" with the Lumenier 2005s, more of an efficient/LR buid. 20x20 stack with baro and and GPS/Compass, 190g dry so i can pretend it's 'sub 250' with the right 4s 650 XD.
@@TheRCAddict Gotcha. Just wondering how long FCs last in general. Half my builds have AIOs and half have 20x20s .. Time will tell I suppose. Congrats on the channel subs :}

I would actually go with 4s if I built something like this, the smaller motors don't need the higher voltage to give them the torque they want, and the 6s battery will be heavier for the watt hour equivalent. Just my opinion though, great build!
@@jean-lucsedits4319 I think it is, I got that bit of information from a Kababfpv video, I assume it's true, coming from him, but of course I could be wrong. I'm not really sure how sag would be affected, I would have to do testing, comparing the two batteries. I've never flown 6s before, so I can't really say
They are definitely not the lightest option, but once you see the flight video I don't think you'll complain ;) I'd much rather have an insane power quad that weighs 10g more imo
Why lie and say this a 150 gram quad when you clearly show that its only 150 grams WITH NO PROPS OR BATTERY??? Whats the point? just tell the truth or not mention the weight at all and you still got a great build and video!!
I'm not lying I never said with props and battery it's 150g. Props and battery depend on the person and will weigh different so I prefer to weigh something like this this way. With a smaller battery this can be 248g flying weight

can you make a new link for the motors?
are you sure that less than 100 amps will suffice???

No such thing as too powerful
I don't like this trend to smaller at all, I want bigger. Not smaller, more fragile, and harder to work on.
Making things lighter (apart from the frame, and even then not always) makes your quad less fragile.
