I rode this same swell on the east coast of Australia a few days ago. It was a strange swell. It was very powerful in the lip and whitewash, however, the barrels weren’t pitching very wide / hollow. Thin, heavy barrels; hard to ride, looks like it was the same in Hawaii
in my opinion nothing beats the afternoon sun illuminating an Aquamarine chandelier with a silhouette of a man in a sacred space on a wave riding creation..

Brother, I proclaim your view of pipe is the best!! I follow religiously and only request one thing. (Besides having a grom on the beach interviewing those who come out of pipes line up) Time stamp your videos so I can head out to surf here in California with nobody out because the swell is just hitting here!(3 days) 🤙

I can't even fathom how that drop feels. Does everyone take one on the head on their first Pipe wave? Reckon I'd forget about the bottom turn when I left my stomach 10ft above me.
I noticed it too and tried to slow the vid down but still can’t make it out. There were whales spouting out there in some previous vids but that thing moved really quick like a breaching shark.

So, absolutely nobody is going to believe anything you say about your surfing prowess.... Starting with, people that do "know more about surfing than you'll ever know"..... never write that. ODL's clips are ALWAYS solid. Never once seen a click bait title and cranks them out. You're the first person I've seen yet just spout off b.s. about the quality..... Then you add the icing about your "knowledge". Well "Rockin Robin" ????? Start your clinic. What's wrong with the photography? What is it EXACTLY that ODL did or didn't do that lowered the quality so low to be so disappointing????
Hats off to everyone in the water, that was BIG PIPE… I know I saw a couple waves in the 15’ Hawaiian range and that is big… Unreal!!!
