The 'loading' is in short hidden in the draw distance. The game loads the region it draws and gives low graphics for further away. It's not in your face due to the art style. Which in my opinion is genius

Seeing the Sky Nail from the top of that Fontaine tower was a cool moment, the feeling of "I did that, I rose a relic long forgotten by history". Being able to see your impact and knowing everyone else in the world can is something that I adore in games.
One thing I wonder if how the flooding of Fontaine looked from outside, cause the entire country is elevated from sea level. Like, did the whole body of water just went up and then down out of nowhere?
The elevation is the flooding, Fontaine before hand was at regular sea level and the underwater areas were all above water. Thats why there are so many ruins down there. So basically it just kept rising up from where its at now

When I tell people this is my "once in a lifetime game that I've waited YEARS for," it's because of this. The world is massive and seamless. And, you can play co-op with both people doing their own thing on entirely different points of the map. The world is vibrant, there's a day and night cycle. I love it. 😊
I loved how I could see the jade chamber from the top of dragonspine or how I can be on the other side of sumeru but still see the sumeru city with the tree. That as well as the music that comes up while I’m chilling farming chests in chasm remind me why I fell in love with this game.
I hope we will get to explore the volcano's area in Natlan, hearing it explode and seeing it in the distance just triggers my explorer senses every time.
Unfortunately we'll get there in 5.5, numerous leaks tells that there's unlikely for a new area in 5.4 since that patch has events and characters from Inazuma .
Behold the power of draw distance! The game's art style also makes the lesser detailed environments look so good from far away similar to what Breath of the Wild's cel shading does for it. Hoyo really optimized Genshin to hell and back for it to run on every device. I believe this is also why the npcs have similar models and characters have the same body types. To save on resources.
I honestly get shooced whenever a new region comes out because what do you mean this game is free??? The story is so good but the game itself, the scenery?? Sometimes we take Genshin for granted, its an amazing game for being free (regarding app purches not in game purches)
The 84939283 langue versions also take up lots of space. And past quest files which cannot be used again (cut scenes and such you cannot replay). But yes, no matter the loading style, the growing map and character roster will result in bigger storage needs. And the music... Most games don't have THIS much diversity in soundtracks... I just don't get how people play this thing on phone...
What i like with genshin is that even with HDD, there's hardly any loading when doing exploration.. meanwhile ssd is a must for wuwa to make the game not having fps drop or loading when exploring

The northern map of Natlan (I never recall what the map name) is definitely high enough to see Liyue. But I think it's the fog that makes it hard to find the jade chamber from there It's not the distance but the environment 🤔
I've been doing this every region update since launch, just to see how far you could see and how many regions. Favorite spot is Liyue the adepti mountains (forgot the name lol).

Me after every update : Go to explore a new region ❌ Visit every mountain and place from where u possibly can see a new region✅ For example, I'm pretty sure that 97% of players didn't notice that you can see Natlan from Aaru village, and not from some mountain, directly from a village ( like any npc from Aaru can freely see Natlan from there) Also a place where you can see 6 nations right now in sumeru ;) 😅
And thats why I prefer Genshin over WuWa. Now guys I am not trying to start a quarrel just saying that all WuWa landmasses are separated by large bodies of water and that too for no purpose except there is a reason which is that they don't know how to smoothly transition between the regions

the real reason is voice lines. Audio files do not compress well at all or they end up sounding awful. Any game that takes up a lot of storage is mostly audio files.
I'm an old gamer who's been there since the early days of Nintendo. I always looked forward to AAA games with large maps just to go out and explore. That's how I became a big fan of the Final Fantasy and Assassin's Creed series. I no longer buy any games anymore though. All my wishes and dreams came true in this one game. My only issue is that I joined the game late and don't have enough time to explore all its nook and crannies.
The sad part is this is also the reason they can't implement seamless flight. Loading all the chunks before you get there will burn if not brick your device with how big the maps are.
Everytime I'm on a high spot I look around to spot Fontaine because for me Fontaine is blue,Fontaine is the Water,Hydro,Fontaine is the better France and the masquerade,Fontaine is Home💙🩵🇨🇵
Once you fully cleared the exploration, there's no goal in going back, but only to do events. Definitely just a waste of storage on those off-beaten path to treasure 😂

Random exploration vs exploration using guide are different.Random exploration is more satisfying since we just discovered new regions by ourselves.

The Jade Chamber is one of my favorite landmarks since it's so easy to recognize.

The actual reason is from all the audio. Music and voice lines are the largest. PS5 has a larger file size due to PS5 having 4K textures.
