I had my Vizsla Bryn for thirteen years when she died almost a year ago. A true, loving companion, we spent many wonderful, beautiful hours hiking in the woods along streams and waterfalls. Such an affectionate, happy dog. She used to wait at a fork in the trail to see which way I would turn. I don’t think I’ll ever get over the pain of losing her, but I definitely want to get another Vizsla.
TheBoredPanda from a reputable breeder check the Vizsla cub of America‘s website for reputable breeders this breed can be very rewarding but require a lot of exercise
@TheBoredPanda Just remember when researching for a dog you only buy from a reputable breeder, one who has studied pedigrees, health and temperament. Never buy from a backyard breeder.
Love my vizsla. A breed that should be far more popular than it is, although that is not necessarily a bad thing. Certainly not for everyone, mostly due to their energy and need to be with people.
I have a mini vizsla (probably dachshund/vizsla mix) I found on the road. Really tough, needs 24/7 exercise and attention. Vizsla is the greatest but not for everyone.
I've not known of a vizsla to die at 10 yrs old! How sad! In my experience, at least with the breeder I've been familiar with... vizsla's have a life span of closer to 15 yrs (the breeder's oldest dog currently is 17!)
1, im Hungarian and the explanation of the word vizsla does make zero sense. the closest hungarian word that come to my mind is "vizsgal" ( means: inspecting) but that is a speculation based on the first 3 letters. vizs word does not exist. 2, i also have a vizsla and i cannot confirm she is smart. i would rather say she is dumb as a rock, but i still love her!

They aren’t a city dog but I got one and I live in a appartment, so I make time to go out with her one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon, she have a great behavior and she is only 9 months old.
You're right! A vizsla demands lots of time... and exercise... if you want them to be happy and healthy anyway. And I wouldn't recommend anyone get a vizsla if you have to leave it to go to work. They don't do well alone.. But, in my opinion, vizsla's are the best, most lovable dogs ever!

The only breed I'll ever own! Can't say enough about this breed. Love them.

Don’t get one, it’s a lot of work, think first if u have that much time. There r not a lot of dogs that need that much attention
Martin Decamerone I love our vizsla but u are right they require a lot of exercise and they aren’t a city dog.
