I will preface this in saying that this is a very rough translation and there's probably a lot of grammar mistakes and strange wording, but I did my best :D It's only the first 6 mins (I actually had to redo most of it, because my PC decided to crash on me and I was using the wordpad which (as I learned today) does not have an auto save option, so that was fun). My guest for today's youtube membership interview is Versailles' Hizaki! Hizaki: Thanks for having me, I'm Hizaki. Kamijo: Yesterday actually today on the 20th of June, we are doing a live talk for both of our youtube channels' youtube membership. I'm uploading this video on my channel but since Hizaki was so kind to be my guest today, after finishing the video please go check his channel as well. So let's get started! Hizaki, since I really wanted you to play the guitar for me in this studio, so I made a lot of preparations. Hizaki: Oh really? Kamijo: Yeah so I would be really happy if you would do it some time. Hizaki: Ah thank you. Kamijo: I really wanted to cherish the world view and beauty and thinking a lot about all these things I came up with this studio for the Versailles members. Masashi and Yuuki also came visit me already and Teru was a guest performer on one of my live performances, so I really wanted you to come to me too* (*he said Masashi and Yuuki did „katsuyou“ for him and he wants Hizaki to do the same. To me that word means „to be active (in a career)“, so I'm not really sure how to translate it well. I think he means that they joined him on a live performance or on his youtube channel) Hizaki: Yeah I had heard that you made a studio for us, but I was really surprised how well it turned out. Kamijo: Acutally I planned out all the decoration in this studio. Hizaki: Oh really? Kamijo: Yeah, I designed everything on illustrator, so it's really precious to me. Hizaki: If you can make it look just the way you want it to it really becomes important to you. Kamijo: This was actually my second time to design a studio. The first time my client left me a lot of freedom, he just wanted it feel modern. But this time I was thinking about the Petit Trianon, the place in Versailles where Marie Antoinette used to life with the kids, when I came up with the design. -live performances now and from now on- Kamijo: So now I would like to ask about live performances now and in the future. Hizaki, you're actually quite active when it comes to live streams and live house performances. Hizaki: Yeah, but there we don't have any drums or singers. It's just guitar and base. I'm active in places where guitarists usually like to play. Kamijo: Ah I see. Guitars are already melody instruments and you can also do riffs on them, so you have a lot of freedom. Piano and guitar are really unfair aren't they? (It's meant as a joke, because you can do so much with a guitar that they're op compared to other instruments) Hizaki: Well the most unfair is probably singing. Kamijo: You think so? Hizaki: Well for most musicians and also fans life performances have been something we have loved for decades, so I definately think that won't change. But somehow, before if you saw a lot of people crowding together you didn't want to go there. (I'm really not sure, if I understood this right, it doesn't really make sense with what comes after...) Kamijo: Ah yeah there is also people who don't like that right? Hizaki: I'm actually like that myself, so I don't think to myself „I wanna go to ???“ (???) Kamijo: It's true, you might not really think about making songs that would be good for a concert, where you can imagine everyone singing along really loud and cheering right? No matter how it changes I would like to correspond accordingly (Then I think Hizaki said, he's still happy he did the project he was doing in the meantime because they were special as well (Kamijo agrees)) (ok sorry guys, I'm giving up I'm not sure I understood things right earlier and without context this is to difficult for me ^^' I stopped at aprox. 5.40. If I come back to this I will probably start from 6.05 and hope I can understand some more context so I have something to work with)

It's so good to see them together after such a long time! I was truly happy when the video with Teru came out as well. I hope they make lots of great music together again:).

しかしレコード時代が40年近く続いたことを考えればもう暫くはCDが重宝される時代が続きそうですね。
ゲームもDLC版が主流になりつつありますがやはりパッケージ版も未だ根強いです。
その点は音楽も同じで、現物が手元に残るというのはやはり大きいかと。
音楽、本、ゲーム、これらの共通点は仮想世界の提示であること。
その世界をより深く構築していくには付属品が必要不可欠ではないかと考えます。
また、アルバムという作品は花束に置き換えられるのではないでしょうか。
視覚映像で捧げられた花束と、実際に手に取った花束、どちらが心潤うかは歴然たる差があると思われます。
しかしストリーミング音源のいいところは手軽さであり、単曲で好きなように買えるところ。
RUclipsなどでMVを観て気に入ったもののアルバム1枚買うのはちょっと敷居が高いライト層はストリーミング、
コレクターやライブに足を運ぶ層は迷うことなくCDでしょう。
洋楽アルバムだと歌詞カードにライナーノーツによる解説が書かれてるじゃないですか。
それを読みながら音源を聴くとまた違った視野で1曲1曲を楽しめるので曲への愛着がより深まりますね。
確かにCDの強度面で進化がないのはおかしいとは思います。
研磨すれば表面はピカピカになるものの時間が経てばまた傷がつくの繰り返しになりますから。
これはRepurchaseを狙った企業戦略なのだろうかw
とはいえ、ここ20年はmp3やaac、近年ではflacにリッピングして聴いてる人も多いと思うので買ったCDは未だ新品同様だったりしますけどね。
カセットテープにダビングして擦り切れるまで聴いてた時代が懐かしいですw
