Although you have a lot on your plate, you are level headed and take the initiative to find every way to mine efficiently and monetarily. Having a plan like you present here, not only gives you more money, but is a great way to reclaim the land almost immediately. I'm sure BC loves to see that when applying for next season's permits! I wouldn't change a thing with your videos. First of all, I appreciate genuineness rather than trying to please everyone all the time. Impossible. At least 90% of them anyway if they don’t get those robots up and taking over the work force in the next 15 years there will be none to do construction or retail…. I think we have 1 working for us now out of 200 we’ve tried to hire and he’s only going to be here till he start’s College in the fall

Sounds a great idea to clear fell yourself if you have the skills. Essentialy mining the ground twice, once for timber then again for gold. Good luck man hope it all goes to plan
Can you deal w any of that timber over the winter so it doesn't cut into sluicing time? I know the snow can get pretty deep but it doesn't look too bad in the vid.
Yes on a normal year I would be doing that. Time is ticking for me to get everything ready for the little girl coming so I had to change up my schedule this year. I may try and go in early next year to get it done though.

Just wondering why would you wait until the hot weather to clear trees for lumber. We always looked forward to the late fall and winter, no bugs, ground frozen easier to move around and easier to move the logs out also. ?????
In a normal year of mining I always do my logging when the snow hits like you suggest. I can't do it this year due to our baby showing up in a few months amd need to build a baby room and get everything ready:)
long ago a guy had told me that while logging /falling trees with a chainsaw one of them was rotten on the top even though while on the bottom cutting the wedge for falling the tree it was solid ( (usually the bottom is rotten ) as he was working on the fall cut the tree top section broke apart in sections and came down like a bunch of spears luckily missing him as he stood there.😳
Yes, in my small community in there are 2 men paralyzed from the waist down in wheelchairs caused from falling trees. It is very dangerous to power saw (chainsaw) cut down trees by hand. A person should build a protective 4’x4’x7’ steel or aluminum solid roof cage with either one open side or two open sides to do the hand cutting of trees out of, to cut the wedge out of the tree so it falls.
