Exactly. This honestly makes me angry...because that young man should have known better than to enable her behavior.
I was married to my HS love too and he threatened to end his life, I never went along or let that sway me, it just confirmed for me staying away from him was the right decision.

This is so tragic. I'm in a fb group for Gatlinburg TN and live 3 hours away. I'm going on vacation there starting the 12th. His mother was posting in the group asking for any sightings or information. There were so many people making rude and hurtful comments. Like, he's a firefighter so no way he's being held against his will. Comments about it being fake or that the mother was being overly dramatic and they ran off together to get away from her. After all she's just went through and reading those comments 😞 My heart goes out to her and all family on both sides 💔

They had been broken up for 6 months!! She was STALKING him!! Following him!! I even believe she may of had a tracker on his car. She knew where he was over 22 miles away on a date! She knew exactly when he was at the gym. And I’m sure she had stalked him all over the place.

Sadly I heard she did not have a lot of family support so when they broke up it took his whole family away. No excuse whatsoever. Jyst hope people realize that when people threaten suicide do not go anywhere with them! Call 911.

And that is truly fun to deal with for a lifetime, trust me. When it is close family you cannot have a life, it is like PTSD your whole life.
It's also immaturity. I behaved that way (not to that extent) at 16 or 17. But you grow out of it. She put everything into him and never developed herself. Everything was all about him and people should have taken the time to redirect her and teach her that she was not an extension of him.

He called his captain to tell him what happened at Olive Garden with her. She had a meeting the next day with the captain but don't know the outcome. Very tragic

What’s sad is he KNEW she was manipulating him with cash app and he KNEW she had a gun and he probably thought that he could talk to her, reason with her and soothe her. You can tell he was a nice guy because he knew all those things plus he got his car keyed, was stalked at the gym, and he forgave her enough to jump in the car with her.

I don't think he jumped in willingly. She likely forced him at gunpoint, assuming a gun was the cause of death for both

You are correct about him trying to smooth things over. However, he wan only trying to talk her down. Getting in the car was trying to reason with her. I did something so stupid once so I know. You cannot talk them down. You MUST NEVER talk to them again, refuse to take their cells and avoid them like the plague. Break it off in public and walk away. Ignore them. Never speak to them. Never visit with them.
I married at 16 years old , had 2 children at 20 years old. When I was 24, he was killed in an auto accident on Christmas Eve. He was with another woman. I was numb.

Hi Gavin. This is extremely tragic and sad. My brother and his girlfriend also had a toxic relationship for years. It was a 'can't live with you, can't live without you' setup. My brother eventually took her life and then his own. He was very depressed about their split up. It was toxic both ways. They broke up once and she walked into a restaurant and behaved in the same way as Reagan did at the restaurant. This is so so very sad! So close to home!!

I agree, as someone who was stalked, and hurt, the courts and LEO needs to be much harsher when dealing with Stalkers. They are NOT IN LO E with their victims! They only want control. Until people stop allowing people to do this sort of thing, thinking it's something that will just go away? It will onkyvincrease.

I know heartbreak. I was in the same position as her. I had to move away and start over and it took me a few years to get over it. He then tried to get me back and I said no, because I never wanted to feel that heartbreak again. So sad this happened.

As much as I can empathize with her feelings, it is abnormal to be suicidal when a relationship ends. Feelings that extreme can be an indicator of underlying mental health issues and in some cases lead to the terrible outcome seen here… prayers for all the families. 😢

They found them n my home town/county it’s hard to believe they made it all the way from Savannah,GA area. I was stationed at Parris Island near Savannah so I’m pretty sure of the route they took to get here. They said n that statement he was with her prob unwillingly and possibly headed to Gatlinburg. Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge(Sevier County, TN) is approximately 15-20 from here(Cosby/Newport) Cocke County, TN it borders with Seiver, County. COCKE county might look like it’s pronounced C-O-K-E but it’s really pronounced C-O-C-K County, TN. Unfortunately it sounds to me like the guy was already deceased way b4 they ever got here and she decided to end her life. because it’s hard to believe he went unwillingly but from there to here he wasn’t able to get away from her to get help. The news here said the bodies were to decomposed to recognize or determine cause of death so they had to b sent to Knoxville for an autopsy. It’s wild she would come all the way here to harm herself like the note that she left reads. My condolences go out to the families involved.

If anyone ever feels like this after a break up , cheated angry betrayed jelous etc ….just know…believe when people say there’s plenty more fish in the sea, and you wil move on from that initial intense feeling , times a great healer , you can move on and be happy eventually , your not the only one to feel this , it’s a feeling as old as time , just know you wil get over it

The police didn't issue a public notice until the 26th, even after finding that suicide note? That was a huge red flag that Chandler was in danger. Flyer said missing since 25th...he was abducted on the 24th. The phone pinged in Cosby, TN Monday evening on the 24th. I hope a police BOLO was put out that Monday. When they determine approximate time of death, I'm afraid they will determine it to be Monday or Tuesday. She was angry. Chandler was trying to move on, and because of keying his car and her public disturbance at Olive Garden, she was probably also going to lose her job with the fire department. Sounds like she was overly dependent on him emotionally and blamed him for her situation. I could understand her having suicidal ideations, losing her bf and her job, but you don't murder someone you love, you murder someone you are angry with.

The term "recently broke up" is a bit misleading, they broke up in December, she was off her meds which kept her even and sane. I personally believe she hit him with her car then loaded his body into the car? He may have been alive but she wasn't taking him to the hospital.😢

Not broken up 2 years I read it was him trying to break up w her that long. She has serious mental health issues and threatened suicide a lot and he would get reeled back in. Then her dad died so it delayed it again, poor Chandler didn’t want her to be unalived. He finally moved out and they were finally broken up. It made it really bad for her bc they worked together. I’m sure seeing him w another girl sent her over the edge. 😢
I feel like she may of had BPD. I know that’s no excuse for what happened. I myself have BPD and about 4 years ago I was also in a tumultuous relationship that ended after 18 years. I was with my ex since 16. I made him and his family my life. He was also abu*ive. When he left I felt like my life was over. I spiraled down a really dark road. I could have seen myself like her. I was not in my right mind. It’s such a scary thought. I wish she had got help like myself. Unfortunately he lost his life and she didn’t give herself a chance to see that she had a life beyond making him her world. Mental health is a real illness, but does not mean you should take others down with you. Praying for his family.

My sincere condolences to Chandler’s family. They worked together, lived together maybe, too much “togetherness”. How suffocating if your with an obsessed, needy, clingy person, that’s a red flag. RIP Chandler😇 & Raegan too because, she clearly, didn’t get everything she needed in life either.

I am in no way excusing a crime but I am almost certain that she had borderline personality disorder. She seems to check a lot of those boxes and him leaving/the loss of her job could be massive triggers for intense emotional responses. I'm surprised I'm not hearing this more and it's very unfortunate that she was unable to receive the support she clearly needed.
Yesterday I kept hoping for a positive outcome. So sad. I know my questions is too soon but I’m wondering if she made him drive and held the gun to him? I would imagine it would be hard to keep a weapon on a strong man while driving many miles. So so scary. My heart goes out to their loved ones

In 2012 i found out My GF was with someone else because our normal communication paused and i just had that feel was heartbroken & 1week later my Father (52) passed away in my arms from a massive heart attack. Very rough couple yrs for me. God tested me and i found the strength (family close friends my DOG) to grieve through it. After i healed my beautiful loving sweet pup said goodbye. The main takeaway for me was, BE KIND and truly love people.
So unimaginably sad! Thinking of their family members.

Masters Mental Health. Day 1 grad school: you can be crazy in extreme, avoiding psych/LE, so long as you keep outlier thoughts to yourself, mask up and carry on. Individual moves covertly thru society unless & until a breaking point is reached. While there may be many clues, our protective mental process prevents adding up the signs leading to dangerous or fatal outcome. Strongly suggest male awareness that most dangerous time in abusive/coercive relationship is when exiting. Further complication preventing Reagan from seeking help was firefighter status. LE & FF often avoid professional help to appear strong and avoid losing face.

It’s important to understand that men have to be just as careful as women when it comes to relationships.
The fact that her father died earlier shows she might be suffering from grief. Grief can do weird things to people. I know my grief, 6 to 10 months after father's death, lead me to do something completely out of character.
Stop feeling sorry for her. If it was the other way around you'd be calling him a POS.
I’m no expert but I have experienced grief (loss of my father also) in my life, but never thought about offing someone because of it! If you think grief does this to you, go get help now, because you WILL experience it at some point in your life!
