Michieletto has played one of the worst game in this life probably (is 21 so can happen), Balaso was quite honest..... the problem of Italy in the last 2 years is mental approach, in some days they don t fight and stay on the court to arrive at the end of the game....if you fight you can lose or win but if you have see the match was quite clear that italian players don t fight with focus at all and this is happen in other games too... anyway italy team is a young team so they can use the lose to improve (hope)

@@fabioarcuti Siamo arrivato da una partita troppo facile fatta con gli argentini , sembravamo dei marziani , mancava solo che schiacciassimo in rovesciata con i piedi e avevamo fatto tutto il repertorio . Mentre gli americani arrivavano da una battaglia con i francesi .erano più preparati ad una partita dura. Poi Romano è arrivato un po' scarico a questa partita nel primo set è stato costantemente murato , penso servisse una pausa anche per lui come hanno fatto Micheletto e soci . Comunque dopo il primo set ho guardato anche io la U17 femminile giocare con la Grecia . Hai notato che hanno giocato serza libero ?

During the match, the announcers didn't know what the fault was at 5:12 . And they never replayed it properly, but it was because the libero set it overhand in front of the 3 meter line, so it was an illegal backrow attack. Italy thought it was illegal backrow attack because the hitter was in front, but it was the libero at fault. FYI since I was confused watching it live.

That was as close to a flawless match against a very good team that you will ever see. A few days ago, Italy trounced Argentina who had rallied to beat the US a few days before that. . Matt Anderson gets better with age, which is a good thing because he's got a lot of it for an international volleyball player, lol

Everybody said that Jaescke was the star of the match, but I watched the whole thing again and did not see Anderson make one error, one mistake, one errant pass, or anything that hurt the team. I didn't see the stats but it felt like he had as many kills as Jaescke. Anderson's performance was as close to perfect as you can get.

How on earth a 36 years old player can play like this? USA played very well both in attack and defense. When Romano, Galassi, Lavia, Michieletto got blocked, while the likes of Thomas Jaesche and TJ de Falco displayed impressive spikes, including from the back through the middle, then ...yeah... a convincing 3-0 victory for Micah Christenson and co.

I was expecting the young Italian squad to put up a fight, but it seemed like they were just as surprised at the 3 set victory. The US is blowing full steam, most notably Thomas Jaescke who I know played well in Anakara but is somewhat a new face to the team. Their offense looks like it just got a new makeover. Good job USA!

The problem I see here is the italian coach. You can see that the first six are not on their element in this match especially Giannelli and the wing spikers. Why not try to use the other players from the bench? That’s why we have substitution. He still sticks to the starting 6 upto the 3rd set and didn’t make any adjustments at all, that’s why 3-0 is the end result. Btw, USA played almost perfect volleyball that’s why they deserved to be in the finals.
Some people are going to say that this USA team is old....The teams that have fallen by the wayside are old. Mr WEBER has given this team another face, emotional and tactical intelligence, improvement of Shoji as libero, De Falco and this fantastic Thomas Jaescke, who played almost perfectly. And of course the GREAT Matthew Anderson, a legend, great athlete and how easy and light he plays. Italy with a younger team, current world champion, succumbed to a game strategy that only a coach like WEBER could impose on this fantastic team. POLAND is a great favourite team, LEON is another very important name in this team and plays with its fans, but I believe very much in this team that I love, and even more in the beautiful Matthew Anderson. It is not for nothing that they are three-time Olympic champions and the greatest player of all time is in the Hall of Fame of VOLLEY Mr. KIRALLY.Go USA!
Usa is 33 average so is not an old team, is a very very old team.... italy 25 , Japan perhaps less, Polland 27.... is a matematichal division Holt 36, Smith 38, Shoji 33, Christenson 30/31?,Anderson 36, Jaeske 29, Defalco 26/27? And the other players on the bench are old for the most.... so Usa yes is very very old team but is a really strong team now with a lot of experience
The 1st time I see USA play was in the final of 1988 Seoul Olympic. I watched live on TV. But I did not know and did not see Kirally back then, because I did not know USA team and their players. I just then knew from the play, watching some spikes from them and the names from their jersey and by other info on the TV display. So, only two players I remember : the big man Craig Buck and Steve Timmons.
I agree with you, but for me, team USA is slightly favourite in the final! It's gonna be tougher than the semi, but considering that they already beat Poland in the prelimary phase, and turned to be still more consistent than back then, they can do it again. At least I hope so!

I was expecting the young Italian squad to put up a fight, but it seemed like they were just as surprised at the 3 set victory. The US is blowing full steam, most notably Thomas Jaescke who I know played well in Anakara but is somewhat a new face to the team. Their offense looks like it just got a new makeover. Good job USA!

I actually didn't expect that USA would just sweep Italy in just 3 sets this semis. In the elimination round, the key players of Italy didn't play against USA hence one of the reasons they lost. So I rlly thought this will be a close match. USA just went beyond great in this match, net and floor defense are on point

The problem I see here is the italian coach. You can see that the first six are not on their element in this match especially Giannelli and the wing spikers. Why not try to use the other players from the bench? That’s why we have substitution. He still sticks to the starting 6 upto the 3rd set and didn’t make any adjustments at all, that’s why 3-0 is the end result. Btw, USA played almost perfect volleyball that’s why they deserved to be in the finals.

Mr WEBER has given this team another face, emotional and tactical intelligence, improvement of Shoji as libero, De Falco and this fantastic Thomas Jaescke, who played almost perfectly. And of course the GREAT Matthew Anderson, a legend, great athlete and how easy and light he plays. Italy with a younger team, current world champion, succumbed to a game strategy that only a coach like WEBER could impose on this fantastic team. POLAND is a great favourite team, LEON is another very important name in this team and plays with its fans, but I believe very much in this team that I love, and even more in the beautiful Matthew Anderson. Usa is 33 average so is not an old team, is a very very old team.... italy 25 , Japan perhaps less, Polland 27.... is a matematichal division Holt 36, Smith 38, Shoji 33, Christenson 30/31?,Anderson 36, Jaeske 29, Defalco 26/27? And the other players on the bench are old for the most.... so Usa yes is very very old team but is a really strong team now with a lot of experience
The 1st time I see USA play was in the final of 1988 Seoul Olympic.
I watched live on TV. But I did not know and did not see Kirally back then, because I did not know USA team and their players. I just then knew from the play, watching some spikes from them and the names from their jersey and by other info on the TV display. So, only two players I remember : the big man Craig Buck and Steve Timmons.
I agree with you, but for me, team USA is slightly favourite in the final! It's gonna be tougher than the semi, but considering that they already beat Poland in the prelimary phase, and turned to be still more consistent than back then, they can do it again. At least I hope so!
