Most of us men feel this way. Some of us are incapable of expressing it, while the rest of us are programmed not to express any signs of weakness. I was always told "get over it" about everything and it always stuck with me so for many years I never expressed myself because nobody wanted to hear a man "complain" about ANYTHING even if it's legit. Just "get over it, you're supposed to be a man".

Reggie was such an integral part of Girlfriends. I don't know if the show would have worked without him. Gosh, what do we need to do to help him get back in good with himself? Sounds like he's really struggling. Girlfriends was such a good show. It showcased a very good cast. I just want him to be okay.

I love the way he represented for professional black men. He wasn’t the overly aggressive alpha businessman. He was himself and wasn’t shamed or ashamed for it. I was a kid when Girlfriends came out. Over 20 years later and he isn’t much different than my fiancé.

Looking back, a lot of the guys I dated ended up being more like Williams than the archetypal black male represented in the media back then (rapper/gangster, pretty singer, athlete or alpha white collar worker). I was born in ‘92 for reference of how old I was when the show was in syndication and I didn’t watch it again from an adult perspective until a few years ago and I had already met my fiancé by then. So there was a period in time where I wasn’t watching or thinking about William like that lol Besides I had an absent father so that had a major effect in my choices when dating as well.

I’m glad he did Girlfriends and learned to like himself again. He really carried the show, and reminded me of so many men in my family. He was my best friend, my uncle, my cousin, and gave hard advice like a father would, and always a good laugh. He was my favorite character. He was THE character. As a 80's baby black dude, when the other shows went off and Girlfriends came on he was the only reason I never changed the channel. Reggie Hayes was such a strong character in Girlfriends, as William. His dynamic with Tracee Ellis Ross’ character Joan would not have been the same without him! I really hope and pray he remembers his value and loves himself… the world and the industry are cruel, but your value and worth exist regardless of your productivity or work! 😊
He actually cool in person, literally when we sat down for lunch, I was pitching him show ideas and everything pumped up and as I was forcing my way in Hollywood he was telling me at lunch he was done with Hollywood..I didn't understand til years later 😅

Reggie Hayes was such a strong character in Girlfriends, as William. His dynamic with Tracee Ellis Ross’ character Joan would not have been the same without him! I really hope and pray he remembers his value and loves himself… the world and the industry are cruel, but your value and worth exist regardless of your productivity or work! 😊

He was a great balance for the single women in the show as well as the couple. He also was a great supported role when he got with Monica it showed a different level to where his girlfriends had a different respect and envied who he was becoming in his relationship with women

I absolutely loved him in Girlfriends.
Reggie carried that entire series. William was the best character, the funniest, non toxic AND best friend on a disgustingly toxic show.
I adored his character and girlfriends, his acting was so well-rounded and I continue to look for him on television.
Brilliant actor. He absolutely should be working on a regular basis.
William was probably my favorite “girlfriend”. He always held them accountable and he was funny as heck. He was really the glue to be honest.
