Wow! Ever since I rediscovered my love of Oldfield's music a month ago after many years of not listening to it, during which I thought he retired, RUclips keeps offering up concert videos and interviews. I've been a fan since the 70s, saw him in concert twice, '82 and '93, and didn't know he did ANY interviews! Of the interviews I've seen this one is the wildest! David Frost!?!? A game show?!?! Seriously?! I'm a hypnotherapist and had no idea hypnosis helped him and how it helped him. I'm reading his autobiography and he doesn't describe it as hypnosis in the book, so this was very interesting. Thanks for posting!
You saw Mike in '82 & '93? I wonder if you were in So California, because I think we were among the few in the US to get a Bells 2 concert visit. Well, I think he had a house here at the time. (In the '80's it was "5 Miles Out" at the Santa Monica Civic.) Yes, I recall reading about his therapy in Melody Maker back then. Something called "Exegis."
@@patbarr1351 Oh wow! '93 at the John Anson Ford Theater and in '82 in NYC where I lived until I moved to LA in '85, at the Ritz Theater. Were you at the concert at the Ford? I still remember what a thrill it was when the pipers made their entrance! The stage design with the stone walls were perfect for it. Until I read his 2007 autobiography 2 months ago I didn't know he lived in the Hollywood Hills which is near where I lived then in Studio City! Where did you see him in '82?
@@amritawhitman8112 I saw the band in Santa Monica, where they did a fairly long show with "Tubular Bells" and "Taurus 2" among others (no "Family Man" though). Yes, Mike lived here for a while. Quite a few of my British faves were in California (Thomas Dolby and Camel's Andy Latimer too) but I guess they got homesick after a while, except for Ringo of course. I really love that Ford amphitheatre. I saw Guster play there (terrific live show) not long before the "pando" hit.
Like all these shit celebrity shows it was money for old rope for all those appearing. Good concept though, voyeurism, people are nosey esp for celebrities homes.
Ridiculous programme. As for the accent, I once lived in the same house as a woman from Washington DC, who told me that this affected, pretentious type accent is very much associated with the Washington government community.
Not just an unforgettable musical icon and genius but a thoroughly nice bloke as well
Bonsoir, je suis français et j'aime beaucoup Mike Oldfield et je sens qu'il est une personne simple avec un talent énorme 💙💪👍
MO, a very nice musical genius. His music gives me so much comfort in this covid19 crisis. Txs for sharing
Genius ! Poland Love Mike Oldfield ;-)
Poor old Mike, having to suffer through that nonsense!
Musical genius... incredible talent. Bless you and thank you for your music ❤️
Big fan from India!! His music is exotic....simply amazing!!

All the things I knew about him I never knew he was a Trek fan. Brilliant artist.
He is GOD!
Back when through the keyhole was hosted by true professionals.

I loved him in blade runner 😉
Rutger Oldfield

You can,t knock Mike Oldfield. One in a million. Yes, I am a man in the rain.
Thx for this video. Does Mike Oldfield still live there?
Mike looks extremely uncomfortable, hope he got some money from it.
You are much loved Mike O!
"heroic sized television" lol if he only knew 🤣
Good interview with David . Short but sweet. Mike got his point over in an understated way as usual.
I love Lloyds pasta sauces 👍👍👍
Crisis crisis, you can’t get away
Maestro.
Yes, Maestro - a high gifted Maestro.
Tubular Door Bells.
What a lovely house Mike Oldfield did have, love the pool though.
Had, this was many years ago. He’s currently in the Bahamas.
@@Chriskimbermusic it was on a recent documentary about him, I wonder what that house sold for ?
Oh, thank you, Ralph!
Just where did you get this clip I’ve been looking for years?
I have a reason for that!
Are you interested in why?
@GaryGuevara Well, unfortunately I didn't buy the house.
But I bought a banjo that is in the house.
@GaryGuevara Hmm, yes! A few times in the front row at his concerts.
His son Like uses the house as a studio, Tilehouse Stufio. I suspect he probably lives there as well.
@@Coneman3 Wrong house :) The house in this video is Roughwood Croft. Tilehouse Studio is based at Little Halings, Mike's previous house in Denham.
@@dunebasher1971 I didn't know he lived anywhere else in Buckinghamshire?
who is that Jonathan ? Is he from "Bread" that liverpool comedy family ?
Why have I just watched this.....
Get the feeling mike just lived in the studio room
Yes, it's the only one that seems relatively cluttered.
Mike hoovered up well before the TV crew arrived.😁
His staff would of done that.
What bilge. What is with Lloyd Grossman’s ridiculous accent? Mike looked uncomfortable but at least present; David Frost was…light years away.
Ridiculous programme. As for the accent, I once lived in the same house as a woman from Washington DC, who told me that this affected, pretentious type accent is very much associated with the Washington government community.
I love his music!😀
Thanks a lot !
Hypnosis or not, he was definitely the youngest person in the room.
I watched and recorded this (l still have it on VHS) when it was first broadcast. God l feel old lol.
Me too. 😊
Got to be five miles out
Terrible tv show
