i had to turn it down so much just so i could watch. cause it is nice to see how he handles every situation. but i agree so much pointless key hitting lol i think realistically only 100 actions are ACTUALLY being done a minute could be outstandingly wrong but that's just how i feel.
Can you mute the crazy key mashing lol. The gameplay and commentary is amazing but listening to you hit 12 buttons to move a scout is rough. haha

APM really doesnt matter in AoE4, he obv. has high APM but it only really makes a diff. at the highest level (or if you have to 1v4)

think you got things mixed up. call of duty is one of the lowest skill ceiling games around and Strategy games like this are some of the most stressful.
Heck nah. These games be stressing me out. FPS you just run around and be quick. But strategy games makes you question your own intelligence.
this is some incredible map control, leaving no room for enemy and no moment for respite.
Fun game. Would be nice to see 4 Abbasid players each take a different wing.
My only complaint watching this video is his insane clicking just to make the APM look better. You can play at a pro level with like 60-80 APM

dont think he cares about APM. If you dont enjoy the sound, thats understandable. I'll copy a previous comment I made on why he seemingly clicks 20 times to move one scout.
"As to why he does so many actions, it is to keep tempo from the start of the game. there will be more things to monitor as the game goes on and he checks everything. At the start of the game, all army hotkeys are on scouts and all production building hotkeys are on TC. He is just cycling through all of the keys. Eventually when there are archers, barracks etc, he will remove the TC and scouts from the respective hotkeys and add barracks and archers to it. That way, he is still clicking the same buttons but now checking the whole army and production. It is muscle memory and building muscle memory and not just "oh clicking buttons-cool""
What is APM?
@@YYZ-21actions per minute. IE, clicks, key taps per minute.
checking in aoe4 world there was 3 silver 1 and 1 gold 2 so not bronze players.

Love the content and the commentary throughout giving a better idea of what is happening and the thought process. This has improved my gameplay for sure. Any way to dampen the sound of the keyboard and mouse? It is a lot of added distraction..

Just don’t listen to it. Same as watching SC2 or any other tournament - high APM is just part of it.

The keyboard is a killer for this. Not sure it's all entirely necessary? I may be wrong, or is it too keep up the APM? Seems crazy.
It's just a habit of his. I do a similar thing in other games where I am constantly jumping up and down, running in circles and spamming skills just because I find it more satisfying than standing still or running in a straight line from A to B.

Yes I couldn't stand it. Just watched the last minute to see what happened. It's so loud and unnecessary. It may just be a habit but damn its louder than the gameplay and him talking lol and seems a little redundant early on with such little units to interact with (which could be the reason hes doing it because it's a slower part of the game and might want to not just sit there waiting)

Now I know neither of you actually play the game. In order to play well in dark age you need to have constant view over vills production because in this stage of the game 1 less sheep or vill could mean winning or losing in high level games

I managed to take on 2 bronze players as a gold3/plat1 (I dont remember exactly) on pit in a team game once where my teammate crashed or left or whatever. he managed to slow down one side enough just a bit before he left that I was able to fight em. was still tough though. I can't imagine taking on four. elephants help though

Kinda late but not really. He would just ring the bell and the enemy villagers would be killed by arrows. It would be game over but not for him

@@sighost8577 Nobody has a "big army" in Dark Age. Everyone has essentially "nothing". And if you spend time building a large army in Dark Age, you will make it to Feudal Age much later than otherwise which has a lot more bonuses than staying in Dark Age. This is why early game is mainly about rushing to Feudal, and Dark Age armies are mainly used for defense.
Why people click orders 20 times as if it would make the unit faster? I've never understood this. All my childhood friends did this. Am I the only one who used to click only once to order units on this game? Same with StarCraft, CC, Civ.
Maintaining constant apms
Nothing else to do, lol. So might as well click it over and over again...even though I know it doesn't change anything. Just some random meaningless stuff I do every now and then, to perhaps express my impatience.

It feels like for pros the moment they start the game, they produce villagers, move the scout, move the sheep and send villagers to two different tasks. I struggle with that and it takes me >10 seconds to get started. Of course, this is partially practice, but I still think a video explaining the order and mechanics you use would be very valuable. Especially because there's really no video like that.

You can watch Drongo's guides. He typically coach the viewer on those things a bit more. But honestly, you should just play a bit more. And come back to observe how other players do things.
You can try watching at 0.5x. He didn’t really go a lot in the first 10 seconds - he queued a villager, sent the scout North, sent the scout’s sheep back to the TC, added the scout and TC to hot key groups and then set the villager rally point to food. But he clicked like 20 times for the rally point which made it seem like a lot more was happening.

Next time is pretty simple tho.... 4 doing feudal rush, game finished. No matter how pro you are, how fast your apm is, you cant do anything without army and eco.
He is basically winning with insane effective Apm, decision making and Eco, and all these come after 10minutes.
Reading that chat gave me brain cancer. basically a bunch of people spamming the whole game "They are not bronze, they are gold because, they dont seem like bronze ....". One would think after the first minutes that would stop but some of them are so out of this world that they think the chat needs to know again that they are probably not bronze. I mean the last time someone said that was 5 seconds ago so beasty might have forgotten it. Just follow the chat guys it will make you mad as hell.

2 - In AoE 4, can all forests be traversed? Are forests used as walls in AoE 4?

Man I am terrible at this game and I made it to gold. You have to be on console or using a trackpad to be on Bronze. And I am like "5 minute villager idle time" "make spears against MAA and archer cause i dont have gold but all this food" in a 30 minute game bad.

Edit people asking about the 20 clicks to move the scout. Its similar to league of legends and spam clicking to move your character. It makes them move faster! (thats what we tell ourselves anyway lol!)
