Thank you Cheri for letting me know. Watch out for any residual burs on the edge!

Can't thank you enough for these uploads Bonnie. Your patience to pursue a 'screwy' blade is inspiring not to mention how you maintain other potential/relative issues whilst focusing on, in this case bending (ie when you thought to feel for burr at a 'puzzling' stage). You can never make enough of these videos, please keep em' coming! Love your attitude, aptitude and disposition.

Thank you Bonnie!! I got ten shears from a groomer last week, six were either heavily worn or badly sharpened by others, bevelled convex curved shears missing ride lines, some nicks, a challenging lot. The main problem was a pair of curved semi-convex shears having the same issue as these, I did what you did and, voila! It worked! Personally, I'm not a fan of using an ArcHone stone on the ride lines, at least my experience isn't good. I prefer cutting a paper towel instead, like I do on utility and fabric shears (which I sharpen on an Ookami Gold) and leave the ride line alone. Thank You, Again!

Terrific work Bonnie! The very reason along with clipper blade sharpening that I did not venture into the grooming industry.

If you can avoid it and have enough salons, do so! Most people I train recently have connections already to the grooming industry and can't ignore it.

Another great video Bonnie! This is a typical problem I run into with curved grooming shears. Mostly due to them being dropped or a dog knocking them off the grooming table. I take the same approach and slightly bend until it cuts properly. Most of the grooming shears of this style I see are in that $70 - $100 dollar range.

Would heat help make the bending safer?

Possibly. I've heard of people doing that.

What is your opinion on the manufacturers of the scissors? You said they were harder than you thought? I also recently did some Geib Kiss curve scissors and I would say they felt soft, not mega soft, but soft... I hear a lot of people talk about the steel industry having to make a lot of changes recently. could the quality of the metals be being altered? I have no idea about these ratings. I learnt about the rockwell scale and all that, and about how the cobolt effects it, but then in real world applications it never seems to match up with what i learnt.

You know, I really don't worry or concern myself with the steel when sharpening, only when I contemplate bending them. The better steel can hold a sharper edge. My science degree was in biology and chemistry, not metallurgy. If I knew at age 18 what I would do with my life career I might have selected a different major. :)😀

@@BonikaShears yeah, I don't really worry even if i have to bend them. I mean if it has to be done it has to be done, as long as my customers are aware, but they dont care, if i dont fix them they dont work anyway so would be heading for the bin so nothing to lose.
