    Curious why we don't say that word in exports?

    Very interesting
    Is this something you download? or upload from a CD?
    How much is it?

      This is something that's available on Steam right now for early access. If not, it will be. It's running $44.99.

    Gotta say. As nice as this is, nothing beats descriptive language and imagination. Miniatures and digital wizardry look nice but nothing beats the individual imagination.

    • @RPGElite
      @RPGElite  2 года назад +1

      I hear ya, but to be fair, all of this comes from the imagination. Even the time we take to make maps, include sound, and all the other bells and whistles.
      Plus, not everyone's imagination (or lack thereof) is the same. So tools like this helps to keep everyone on the same playing field. 😉
      Happy gaming! 👍🏿

      I hear your man. I've been theater of the mind since the very beginning. Beginning. I don't use maps for Minnie's. However I might use a photo of a particular person place or a thing but no battle maps.

    • @danielhughes3758
      @danielhughes3758 Год назад

      Yeah... I did a DND battle recently with 15 orcs, one ogre and a big thunder boar monster. There were 4 players plus some allies. That battle would have been almost impossible to track with just imagination 😅

    Why is half the video for "part 1, the basics" all about exporting a finished map??

    new subscriber here, I appreciate the series. I'm comparing map programs for printing out exciting 2D battlemats. This is kind of overkill for someone not using a virtual tabletop, but it stacks up well to other static products like Inkarnate. Thanks!

    • @RPGElite
      @RPGElite  Год назад +1

      It may seem that way but if you use different views of the map - like the new 1st person view in the update Fata Morgana -you can get some great screenshots that you can show to your players as well.

    My wife bought the system for me for my birthday and while i usually use Dungeondraft, its really a nice system to play around with. I'm definitely going to try exporting to foundry to see what my options are for lighting.
    Do you know if they have options to making curved walls? while i think the system is pretty sophisticated, you would think that curved walls would be a given....

    • @RPGElite
      @RPGElite  Год назад +2

      Great to hear!
      They do have curved walls now. They did not at first. That came out in the Abandoned Ruins Update which you can find here:

    • @RPGElite

      Yes, and depending on which VTT you use, the walls and lights will be reported as well. If you don't use a VTT, you can export the map and print.

    A fascinating resource, to be sure. It's robust and seems intuitive, obviously very crisp in presentation... but I'm not sure I'd get much mileage out of it. I've been using free resources from the internet for 20+ years, modular printed assets on the table and digital image files virtually, so this might not be my cup of tea. Regardless, really cool toolset. Thanks for sharing, boss.
