@exhaust addicts. 1) You need to use Sound Analyzer Pro (android) and find the drone frequency while you drive it. Vary speed and find what frequency is most objectionable to the driver. It's likely the one reading the strongest in the app at that time. 2) Then get a reading on the exhaust temperature where your J pipes are going to be. 3) With those two pieces of information, you calculate the quarter wavelength of the drone frequency. That's the length you need for the J pipe (including the bent part) measured down the center (or simply the average of inner and outer around the bend). With proper J pipe setup, you could probably do away with the mufflers. While most J pipes tend to be in the same range of lengths, if you fine tune, youll get better results.
I run a nice exhaust setup with no drone on my cammed Camaro. Headers, hf cats, vibrant 1794s, and then vibrant ultra quiet resonators in place of mufflers
he couldve added those vibrants on without all the J pipe bs and it wouldve fixed it i had 2 of those vibrants put on my 5.0 because the rasp and drone was absolutely horrendous those resos got rid of 85% of the cabin noise and cut the rasp in half and this was with an X pipe i got an H pipe now and its super deep and throaty
Those J-pipes don't look long enough, they need to be 29 inches long to cancel the drone on a crossplane V8. I have 29 inch J-pipes on my old Mercedes & they pretty much cancel all the drone. Most of the drone is in the 1100 to 2000 rpm range on a V8 when you remove silencing.
Sounds amazing definitely a complete unique set up. If drone was the main issue he could always just add sound deadening inside the car and wrap his exhaust. Overall sounds amazing.
Drone isnt always = drone. Some say drone is gone when you open the windows. For me its a lot worse with open windows. For the wrap the exhaust part, I‘ve never heard of that method against drone. Could you explain how it works?
Sounded better (more open) without the Vibrants overall, but they did add some flavor (tone) on acceleration. I am sure the J-pipes help minimally, but Helmholtz resonators would be smaller and more effective over a wider range of frequencies and engine/road speeds. I wish him luck. The rabbit hole of changing mufflers is a deep and expensive one, especially when you don't address the root cause of the drone....
If he wants to kill drone, put some matting ingredients the trunk, under the carpet and rear seat. Also, most importantly, use a packed performance muffle, even if it's straight through, like a type s borla or SLP lm2. The last setup sounds like something you'd get with a packed muffler. Also, place the mufflers where the vibrant are
As long as you can hear the cam very loud, cammed LS is still a cammed LS, it sounds good just about any way you put it, especially with longtube headers. If u don't want drone, just get Corsa Extremes, Borla ATAKs or MBRP with J-Pipes.
It's not the drone the gets me it's the humming not rubbling I been threw 4set ups on my Silverado still don't rubble I found the tips stick out far helps alot yes the last set up sounds clean on the maro
Should've just added the TF mufflers in front of the Bullets (and installed the j-pipes), probably would've been quiet enough and spent a lot less time and money.
Definite improvement to me with out the resonators added at the end. The left J pipe was supported at the end but the other side wasn't. Also, the small amount of weld that was bracing it will break sooner than later.
Cam, hi flow cats and long tubes, but he wants it quieter?
The rasp those LS motors can make with the wrong setup can be super annoying.
Loud doesn't mean faster
@@H1GHD3FF well considering it’s loud from long tube headers and a cam im sure its faster their genius

Never heard of True flow mufflers or seen J pipes installed on a car or truck anyway Camaro sounds good Beastmode
total flows sound the best
That man will have to get over it. It’s cammed with long tubes and high flow cats. You will have drone.
Needs a full corsa cat back for a no drone sound. That’s what I had on mine and no drone
J pipes aren't universal. The length has to be tuned to the frequency you're trying to cancel out.
The Vibrants in addition to the TF and J pipes sounds deeper, less raspy.
I like it. 👊🏿

"Yeah, its louder" 😂
Thought j-pipes needed to be tuned, not one size fits all.
That is correct. They didnt exactly do it how you should.
So if you have no room for j-pipes, would a dual in/dual out BORLA be better than a dual in/dual out magna flow.
Should try some borla s types on his 15th visit😂😂😂😂😂
probably will be missing a few horses
It's the longtube headers - nothing much you can do about that.
