Had an idea for your electrical issue. Put a deep box where the cord goes into the coop with a lid, then run a cord with a male end plug in it that can supply the power to the coop, that way you can always change a cord if necessary. And, probably get some sort of cover for your electrical connections which are exposed to the outside. May want to also consider a way to run the cord in the air to prevent it from ever possibly sitting in a puddle of water. Love the content, can not wait to see what y'all get into next.

The chickens that lay blue eggs are called, Ameraucanas, Araucanas, or Cream leg bars. We have 3 of these types of chickens and the lay from a pink to a sky blue egg. They are also the nicest of all the chickens we have.
Flair, you should run your own power to the chicken coop. Get a roll of 10/2 outdoor wire and a breaker for the breaker box in the barn, and run the 10/2 out of the top of the barn and up through the trees to the coop. that way it's up high enough off the ground so that you can drive under it. and then buy an end for it like extension cords have. Those extension cords you're using are not made with heavy enough gauge of wire to run heaters properly. They will most likely keep throwing the breaker or they could get overheated and meltdown and start a fire. When the heaters have been on for a few feel the plugs on the cords to see if they're getting hot, if they are that isn't good. Outside use 10/2 wire will work great and it will only be temporary for this winter and then you'll be moving.
