Hi Jim, I am glad you are back. Atlanta is beautiful!!! I like your Colorado video. That was beautiful drive!! I can,t wait to see your video in June!!! Thank you Jim!!!
Excellent looking video and a great ride, even with all the traffic. Echo & The Bunnymen sounded great, even though I'm not really into them. Thanx for posting this. Looking forward to the new videos.
I was watching a lot of your season 16 videos. I was wondering a lot about your route in season 16. When I watched this video, I finally saw your full route.
Awesome that you're heading to the Pacific Northwest! That's an area I need to head to, one day. And I see that you'll be taking I-17 on the way home. You'll be amazed at the transition from ponderosa pines to saguaro cactuses in only a span of 75 miles. Safe travels, good sir!
Great video. My colleague from Atlanta says that north perimeter is one of the most congested areas in the metro. Can't wait to go to Atlanta someday. I want to check out the Chik Fil A dwarf house locations.
Awesome. When I saw the map, I was like "YASSSS, FREEWAYJIM IS GOING TO SEATTLE!!!!!". Great video, I can't wait to start seeing videos from your trip!!! I am also taking a couple trips myself, I'm going to Tennessee/Alabama on the 7th of June, and to West Texas on the 22nd of June!!! I can't wait!!!!!!! Oh yeah, also, great video, I can't wait to see what the express lanes will look like!!!!!!! :)
+Nash wayz Thanks! hope you have a great time on your trips. Here's a video fo what the ExpressLanes will be like. ruclips.net/video/XsDFAmSLyGA/видео.html
Excited that you're coming out to the Pacific Northwest! I'm sure you'll have a great time (and for an added bonus, WSDOT has been doing a bit of repaving work in the Seattle metro area lately)! I'm sure you already have a great plan, but a couple things in Washington and Oregon I highly recommend checking out, in order of when you'll get there assuming you're starting going northbound out of Atlanta, would probably be: - I-90 crossing the Columbia River through Vantage (an absolutely stunning view) as well as by Keechelus Lake and Snoqualmie Pass (again, amazingly beautiful, despite some construction on the road by the lake right now) - The brand-new SR 520 bridge over Lake Washington (the west part isn't done yet but the new bridge is really nice - 3 lanes each side with one HOV 3+ lane on each side and full shoulders compared to the old 2 on each side with no shoulder and low/prone to flooding). This is electronically tolled, but certainly is worth a drive. - I-405 in Washington (terrible during rush hour and has some traffic issues even at non-peak times due to the new ETL lane addition, which has made traffic worse in my experience and that of many others, but still one of the Seattle metro's largest and most important freeways, and the view of Bellevue is very nice too) - I-5 crossing the Columbia into Portland (a beautiful river view and some city to go with it!) - US 26 westbound from Portland into Beaverton (kind of plain at the end, but a very cool incline right out of the city with tunnels and large hills that's worth seeing). No matter what, I am certain you will love what the PNW has to offer. I'm looking forward to seeing your upcoming videos, and if you want any Seattle tips/restaurant recommendations, I'd be honored to oblige.
+brunelljj Thank you, I'm hoping to get all you listed except 405 in Seattle, not that high on my list (I-405 in Portland is another story). I also plan on going to the Oregon coast and Astoria.
This was a great video by the way. Though I am from the Southeast, I have been in Texas so long now, I have gotten used to seeing "stuff" along the freeways instead of miles of trees. :-)
Always cool to see your videos on Atlanta, even if our roads are less than perfect, to say the least. You plan on doing some new videos on the HOT lanes whenever those are complete in a year/year-and-a-half?
I've driven in every major city in the US and our roads are pretty darn good compared to most cities and yes, I will likely film the ExpressLanes when they are completed.
I got a Peach Pass today just so I can enjoy the I-75 express lanes on the south side when they finally open. I don't know if I'll be around in Georgia to see the north side project be completed.
Very nice ride! Was impressed- always impressed and all by how Atlanta maintains it's highways, makes upgrades- and you had a beautiful day for a ride! Looking forward to your next long trip and videos! I look forward to seeing what new highways you ride on- btw- love the highway sign notations- very cool look!
I have to agree about Toronto's 401. It's not interesting and the signage is low rent. In fact, throughout Canada, only Ontario's cities have what may be considered freeways. However, next door in the nation of Quebec, the national highway system is the equal to America's Interstate in design, construction quality, and signage. Even the system's logo is a copy of the Interstate. If Freewayjim ever feels a need to record outside of the U.S., visiting Montreal could be worthwhile. The downtown freeway tunnel is fascinating to say the least.
Yay! FreewayJim is coming to my neck of the woods! (Seattle). And looks like your route involves my favorite NW highway, I-84 through Oregon. You will not be disappointed, I'm sure! (The lookout at Emigrant Ridge on that road is a must... On a clear day you can see for what seems forever....)
Really enjoy your videos. At about 0:53 you display signage for I-85/I-285 top end perimeter interchange but the highway signs show you driving through I-75/ I-285 top end perimeter interchange.
roadtrip suggestion. Capture some footage when rolling through Las Cruces, NM on I-10 east. You'll have the desert peaks of the Organ Mountains on the horizon, very beautiful drive.
Glad to see you'll be coming here to Minnesota. 2 questions I have though: 1. Will you be going clockwise or counterclockwise 2. In Minnesota will you be checking out the Mall of America?
You're heading to the Northwest? I can't wait until you show everyone the beauty and geographical diversity of I-90 in Montana/Idaho and Washington State. It's incredible! I think you'll be impressed by interstates 84 and 15 in Oregon and Utah as well (I uses to reside in the SLC area, but that was two decades ago). Cheers. 😊
5:01 The map looked very weird, but it's quite amazing that Seattle and Portland are on the route. Also, you're visiting Salt Lake City, Phoenix and El Paso again after the 2015 season.
Hey Jim, I think you have the wrong freeway sign in your annotations @ 0:55. WOW! Nashville, Louisville, Chicago, The Twin Cities Seattle, Portland, Boise, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas Phoenix, El Paso and DFW That's quite the road trip.
This is a nice video, BTW I'm looking forward to your big trip to the northwest, the landscape should be green compared to the desert of Cali, you will do videos of the plains, rockies, & cascades in addition to the cities?
Will you be filming this entire trip?!?! That would make for an awesome cross-country video. Also looks like you'll be passing through my city (St. Cloud, MN). Have fun!
I've been watching your videos for a while and love them. Since you are going to the great Pacific Northwest, you should check out Vancouver as well. FreewayBrent has this amazing video titled "BC 99 North, Sea-to-Sky Highway, North Vancouver To Squamish" that could use some updating in HD!
While in Phoenix, you should go on the 101 and the 202, they are pretty cool in my opinion. Also awesome video! But some day you could film highways in Toronto and other parts of Canada like the 401, it's extremely wide and the busiest highway in North America! Also the QEW, Don Valley Parkway, Gardner Expressway, and others. Hope you do some day get time to film in Canada, and check out Vancouver, it's pretty cool also. Thank you for the video.
+Logan Ward Thanks, I have not been to Toronto yet but would like to someday and honestly, the 401 does not impress me, it's just wide and busy, I can get that in Houston or a 5 mile stretch of I-85 in Atlanta (same setup), there are no great interchanges or features on that road. Now the Gardiner through Downtown is something I'd really like to see and film.
Yes Wisconsin!. Be sure to get some videos of Madison. One thing though are you sure you want to take 212 out thorough Montana that highway has nothing it's worse than I-80 through Nevada because that's got at least occasional mountain ranges. 212 is just flat and boring. Not too mention extremely remote. Anyway hope you have a nice trip!
So FreewayJim is going to make his way up to the Northwest. This will be a fun adventure. Of course I'll tune in at same bat-time same bat-channel. Happy Trails!!
Wow that is going to be a long trip . Are you going to flim the following : Indianapolis , Chicago , Minneapolis - St.Paul , Milwaukee , Fargo , Sioux falls , Rocky mtns , Seattle , Portland , Salt Lake City , Las Vegas , Southern California , Phoenix , El Paso , Dallas - Fort worth and more .
+Freewayjim Interesting. I haven't heard of that one. Do you think you might travel back to New York someday soon? I absolutely love all your videos, but especially the big city ones.
Maybe some day I will but filming in NYC is hard because of the camera restrictions and the general paranoia, I could not do it unless my son was with me to pop the camera on and off at bridges and tunnels (toll booths). Filming in the south, mid-west and west is different, I can just leave the camera on all day.
okay... how did it happen that first the sign said that you were approaching the 85 and the next sign says that you're approching the 75... sorry.. I just.. got confused sorry...
Haha yeah, that's cool. I'm trying to convince my folks to let me drive them up Mount Evans... I might finally get to go to CO this summer. Enjoy your trip.
In ham radio terms, the Top End of 285 is your dummy load. I've seen other roadgeek videos of I-90 going through MT-ID-WA, so this means I am really looking forward to yours, to see what a real high quality professional quality video of that stretch is like.
+Freewayjim yes!! I was saying wow that's Freewayjim. I use to watch your videos before I moved to Atlanta. I was acting a fool like your a celebrity but I didn't want to scare you lol!
Hi Jim, I am glad you are back. Atlanta is beautiful!!! I like your Colorado video. That was beautiful drive!! I can,t wait to see your video in June!!! Thank you Jim!!!
+Maureen Desquitado Thank you very much
Atlanta is awesome ! Thank you for sharing.
+Fábio Marcos Euzébio Thanks for watching!
Finally, you record in 2016! I never realized how much google maps and the freeways of Atlanta have changed since a few years back!
atlanta looks quite warm nice video!
+Snoop Eastwood The day I shot this video was near perfect!
Excellent looking video and a great ride, even with all the traffic. Echo & The Bunnymen sounded great, even though I'm not really into them. Thanx for posting this. Looking forward to the new videos.
Thank you, I'm not really into that group either but the tune was right for what the video needed.
NICE you're passing through Dallas, Phoenix, Cali, Vegas, and Seattle! Looking forward to the videos!
+74ryanwolf Thanks
That's one hell of a road trip. I'm so geeked to see the videos.
+wilijamesme Thanks, not much longer if at all than 2013 or 2015.
Song fits perfect
Thank you!
the shot at 1:03 is my profile picture, which was taken in june 2014. amazin how much it has changed since then
I have always look forward to your videos! Excited about what you will bring for 2016. Drive safe!
+MazdaStrider Thank you very much!
Perfect video!!! 10/10 editing! That is one looong ass road trip you have coming up 😁
+SleekDan97 Thank you, not much longer if at all than 2013 or 2015 to California.
Holy crap that's a high bridge...
Like the music and the Video
Thanks
I was watching a lot of your season 16 videos. I was wondering a lot about your route in season 16. When I watched this video, I finally saw your full route.
The joys of traffic in the Postbellum capital from the view of the Antebellum capital. You chose a very nice day for riding along.
+luvcarsgay Thanks!
Glad to see we are going to see a updated DFW video. A lot has changed since your last video.
+Harold81 I'm looking forward to seeing all that new stuff too.
Looking forward to that road trip. Thanks for posting
+mrtequilashooter Thank you!
Woah, that is a huge trip! I bet we'll have great videos to watch.
+GuilhermeMattos Not much bigger than the 2013 and 2015 trips, yes I hope to get some good videos from this.
Thanks for posting...Cobb County my neighborhood....I travel this route often.
You might enjoy this video too if you have not seen it, I-75 North through Cobb. ruclips.net/video/M1T6duaa_zk/видео.html

+Arizonan 2509 Thank you very much!
Thanks for the ride, Jim. Enjoy your trip!
+ca2fla Thank you
Your videos make me want to phone in sick and just hop in my car for a couple weeks.
+Chris Haycox LOL, thanks!
Great video. My colleague from Atlanta says that north perimeter is one of the most congested areas in the metro. Can't wait to go to Atlanta someday. I want to check out the Chik Fil A dwarf house locations.
+DJR5280 Thanks and It is, hope you get there.
We'll be about a month behind you on the Great NW trip this summer. Can't wait for your videos!!!
+SmokeyGoodness Thank you much, have a safe trip.
Great video as usual ! That's one hell of a road trip you got planned. Damn !
Thank you!

+Freewayjim your welcome and thank you!!!!!
+Freewayjim Thanks for the link too!!
Great vid and that's a big trip planned. Safe journey to you, sir!
Thank you, everything went just fine.
This video is fake, cars are actually moving. Cars don't move on Atlanta roads.
Lol! Well at least not during high traffic times anyway.
☣
Leo F it's not fake. It's real. Cars move. Not in traffic.

Always good to see Atlanta again. Probably too late now, but hope you'll do a video on Montana. Not a lot of highway videos about us out there.
Thanks, yes we got some footage in Montana.
This was a great video by the way. Though I am from the Southeast, I have been in Texas so long now, I have gotten used to seeing "stuff" along the freeways instead of miles of trees. :-)
+Harold81 Thank you!
Two days after you filmed this, I'd arrive in Atlanta on my tour of the south
Always cool to see your videos on Atlanta, even if our roads are less than perfect, to say the least. You plan on doing some new videos on the HOT lanes whenever those are complete in a year/year-and-a-half?

Glad to see you'll be doing another grand circuit--looking forward to it!
+kusuriurikun Thank you
WOW 16 MI in 17 Minutes! pretty fast for 285...I felt like is was driving as I have driven this piece of road thousands of times..Nice job!
+hhlomaxx Thank you!
Very excited for the next season. I hope you'll like I-17 in Arizona. That is a pretty drive.
+Caleb Harper Thanks, I have heard great things about I-17 so I'm looking forward to it.
Great video Jim! Congratulations!
+LOUIS ANTHONY GM Thank you!
Really enjoy your videos. At about 0:53 you display signage for I-85/I-285 top end perimeter interchange but the highway signs show you driving through I-75/ I-285 top end perimeter interchange.
Yeah, that was an error on my part, thanks.
The Atlanta roads are tough. I'm not sure if the beltways help or hinder.
roadtrip suggestion. Capture some footage when rolling through Las Cruces, NM on I-10 east. You'll have the desert peaks of the Organ Mountains on the horizon, very beautiful drive.
The northwest trip is gonna be insane can't wait!!!!
Glad to see you'll be coming here to Minnesota. 2 questions I have though:
1. Will you be going clockwise or counterclockwise
2. In Minnesota will you be checking out the Mall of America?
I went through from St. Paul and got what I could in the downtown Minneapolis area (traffic was an issue) and #2, no.
Also, it's amazing that you're going to Las Vegas and Dallas again after about 3 years.
I do what I can :)
You're heading to the Northwest? I can't wait until you show everyone the beauty and geographical diversity of I-90 in Montana/Idaho and Washington State. It's incredible! Thank you, I'm really looking forward to it, uncharted territory for me.
That trip looks like it'll be fascinating!
+MKT Transport Video Thanks, it should be.
glad to see you're going to be going through my area (madison,wi)
How long is your Great Northwest excursion going to take? Looks like a massive trip!
12-13 days most likely
That is just tres cool that you used Echo & the Bunnymen!
Thanks

Will you be filming this entire trip?!?! That would make for an awesome cross-country video. Also looks like you'll be passing through my city (St. Cloud, MN). Have fun!
+Josh.0 No, just selected segments I find interesting and some in big cities I have planned.
nice video, I'm looking forward to your new videos from your upcoming road trip.
+Trans Canada Phil Thank you
yes! He is back! good work
+William Lundqsist Thanks
I've been watching your videos for a while and love them. Since you are going to the great Pacific Northwest, you should check out Vancouver as well. FreewayBrent has this amazing video titled "BC 99 North, Sea-to-Sky Highway, North Vancouver To Squamish" that could use some updating in HD!

+Josh Frank I doubt I'll be shooting in Madison and I'll be staying on the Interstates out west.
L O V E D the soundtrack ! Nice job
+JMV FRVA Thanks, thought you might like that tune.
This is gonna be great road trip!
+Michael Patrusevich Thanks, I hope so.
Psyched for the Great Northwest trip. Something to look forward to.
+Edward Kollin Thank you
So FreewayJim is going to make his way up to the Northwest. This will be a fun adventure. Of course I'll tune in at same bat-time same bat-channel. Happy Trails!!
+BDavinci06 Thank you very much, I just hope (like with every trip) the weather and traffic cooperate :)
Nice job, Jim! We are going to hit all 48 states by this summer!!
+NW Indiana Elevators Thank you and yes we are!
All I have left is Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, South Carolina, Maryland, and Delaware!
The I-22/65 interchange in Birmingham should be completed by June you should check it out!
+Jonathan I plan to!
+Javier Solis Give or take, it all depends on lighting, weather, and traffic.
+Freewayjim Ok If you say .
+Javier Solis Well of course I want to film those things, just not making any guarantees.
+Freewayjim 13-08 Rocky Mountains #2: I-70 West Continued is blocked due to SME .
Just curious, do you use the Waze app? I'll bet you'd be a top score.
I use INRIX for traffic info.
+Freewayjim Oh wow. I didn't know that.
Please make some videos of Nashville on your trip next month, like a downtown street tour!
+AJTLfilms I won't have time to go off the interstate for a street tour but I'll try to shoot something on I-24 and I-65.
okay... how did it happen that first the sign said that you were approaching the 85 and the next sign says that you're approching the 75... sorry.. I just.. got confused sorry...
+Danny1022 Just an error on my part
+Freewayjim it's okay, kind of got confused but it's understandable.. it was kind of blurry the sign anyway so that may make sense..
Look forward to your Northwest trip.Don't forget the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, which will be right across Puget Sound from you.
+Asianorama Again Thaks, I probably won't have time for that.
Looking forward to it!
I'd wish travel around the US making videos like that :/ too bad I'm not there no more ):
Have you thought about driving through Mount Rainier Nat'l Park? I'd love to see a video of that.
+UnchainTheNight1 Not on this trip, not really a fan of those types of roads to begin with.
Haha yeah, that's cool. I'm trying to convince my folks to let me drive them up Mount Evans... I might finally get to go to CO this summer. Enjoy your trip.
+UnchainTheNight1 Thanks!
Those will be huge flyovers as part of the express lane project
Great song!
+epilleux Thanks
Nice video!
Are you planning to make a few vids in Louisville on your road trip?
+beepbeepme50 Thanks, probably one if traffic and weather cooperate.
Were you able to get a few videos in Louisville?
That will be the video for this coming Monday, I shot three clips and made them into one video (15-16 min long).
Awesome! Can't wait to see it.
In ham radio terms, the Top End of 285 is your dummy load.
I've seen other roadgeek videos of I-90 going through MT-ID-WA, so this means I am really looking forward to yours, to see what a real high quality professional quality video of that stretch is like.
+countenanceblog Thank you very much, hopefully the weather and lighting will cooperate.
Hopefully, it won't be raining when you're in Seattle! :P
Yeah, that could really screw things up.
im in marco island florida right now its awesome very trpoical
Awesome looking trip, should make for some great videos.
+R LaMastus Thank you!

I'm 18 Years Old And My Name Is Logan Hasenohrl.
I'm way older and I don't need to know your name, I'm not the right age group for your questions is all.
ok thanks.
+Freewayjim I seen you one day on Highway 78 Stone Mountain Hwy!!! In Snellville
Cool!
+Freewayjim yes!! I was saying wow that's Freewayjim. I use to watch your videos before I moved to Atlanta. I was acting a fool like your a celebrity but I didn't want to scare you lol!
