But being unable to answer a question articulately is NOT typical for a 5 year old. The kid is not only a complete space cadet, she has a parent who is raising her to be as much of a space cadet as possible.

I recall a child begging to quit the pageant shit and let her play baseball. The mother said something like, "You don't like baseball; you like being pretty! How can any mother deprive her daughter The other question she couldn't answer was about what makes her mother happy. She looked dumbfounded. I did dance competitions alot as a kid and i dont remember being this obsessed - yes every1 is dif but i stil think that to much of a good thing is a bad thing as far as attention overload. She's just a typical kid, completely distracted from adult conversation and having fun by herself while they talk. Asking a young kid such questions with structure, it's natural for someone so young to not have a structured answer. If she is being taught to see herself as someone older, it hasn't worked, and she is still acting her age. She's not psycho, she's cute, and acting the part.

booboo googoo Of course being taught narcissism isn't "normal!" YOU brought up narcissism, I just made a connection between this kid and my own little boy. Also, (and this may be totally unrelated,) my son was JUST diagnosed with ADHD. I noticed some of the same "quirkiness" (for lack of a better word,) in this little girl that my son also portrays. Although most little kids can barely sit still without squirming,. at dinner, my son can't sit still for more than a bite at a time. I mean, he takes a bite and takes off, literally running in circles or trying to climb on the table. He also would (and still does) develop short lived facial tics that would get consistent and then die down and disappear. So many other factors were (and still are) a part of my son that were worrisome, to say the least, and, thankfully, after the diagnosis from our pediatrician, we are able to have access to the state and town's offered services that I'm still learning about but will absolutely use. All I can feel is relief at this point. Now, I'm not saying that the little girl in this clip is ADHD at all, but I AM saying that you aren't her parent. You do not know anything about her and for you to call her "RUDE" is absolutely callous of you as well as judgemental, ignorant and insensitive. You don't know her, or her family or how she's being brought up behind closed doors. You're supposedly an adult, yet to make such a direct comment the way you did was just ignorant. It was also RUDE.
From a psychologist's point of view, it's actually so sad to see the reason she's behaving like that is that she's TERRIFIED of being on camera, and she doesn't really know what to do with her face. Also, she's completely disconnected from what's going on around her, so that probably means she DOESN'T LIKE what her mother makes her do. Most kids, when asked "what do you like?" will answer with something like "I like to play", "I like to be my sister", etc. They won't give you deep answers, but they won't say "I don't know". This kid doesn't truly know who she is, because her mother is obviously extremely dominant.

I was gonna come down here and comment and you literally said exactly what I saw. It's really sad to see this little girls childhood being robbed from her controlling and Dominate mother. She's got this little girl inside of her who has never been free nor does she even have a clue that this isn't how little girls live. I feel very sad for her. I could tell the mother was getting very irritated with her behavior and the man interviewing was concerned for her. It really blows my mind how oblivious people are to this sad truth. It's not just cute. It's not psychotic. The mom isn't sweet. The interviewer is rude. They weren't politely disagreeing (they're on TV). These mothers are stupid. I hate to see young children like this. I'm still young, but very mature, as you probably can tell. If I were to enter a pageant, which is something I have the option of doing, I would wear very appropriate attire and maybe a little lip gloss, that's it. A modest statement for someone who might be a little older than me. People can do whatever they want, even is it's excessive or inappropriate. I have watched toddlers and tiaras before and the reason why they try to put as much makeup as they can trying not to look like a clown is because most of the girls like to be in glamour pageants more than natural pageants and some of the judges go for the team ( mother or father and daughter) that goes all out on the makeup and the dresses and the talent shows for what u describe as "toddler sluts" that's considered "beautiful" for contestants and judges all though I do agree with u and I do wish my parents would have put me in pageants for u I would probably recommend natural pageants

I have the same problem, there's this kid at my school that has a mother that let's him, watch pewdiepie, cussing in the house (and he does it at school too.) He's also a very spoiled kid. Like he gets to one, gets a samsung galaxy, gets a giant TV, and plays on screens whenever he wants too. He gets all the new devices too, just like PS4, XBOX 1, and many more. He isn't so humble about it too. He brags all about it. Heck, this is why I know this stuff. Also he's very rough, like he punches me when he gets the chance, and laughs every time he says something, unless he's under depression of course. As you can tell by this he seems really annoying, and he is. I'd exchange any kid at your school if I had the chance. He calls every kid at my school fat too. And he's skinny, but he isn't fit. He doesn't eat a lot, but he's not very athletic. I bet any fat kid at my school could beat him in a race, well some. And I absolutely love the comment I'm replying too, I ask myself that everyday. "Why do these kids have such bad parent, or why are they even behaving like this?" And remember, I'm only in 5th grade, by this kid, you can already see where these school days are going to become.

So many years of her life gone, almost like a distant memory for her because they all went into her pageant career. Her happiness and willness to live fizzled out. To the people complaining, you must not have 5 year old sons or daughters, nieces or nephews, or cousins. This is standard at that age in the early morning after a sugar high during "adult" conversation. Kids try to keep themselves active to rid themselves of boredom. She's doing what any normal 5 year old girl would do who sees herself on a monitor and giving standard one to two word answers to a stranger she has no interest in placating. Will he give her a doll to play with later? No. Will her giver her juice later? No. So she tunes out. But she listens to her mom because that is the adult that holds the power in this situation so she looks in his direction and stops playing around when mom orders her to. I have nieces and nephew this age and they do not act this way. Kids know how to behave at 5yrs., They might do some funny stuff with their friends or at home (not when they're is company) they sure don't act this way in public... there are many kids who are her age or younger, who have been on tv and do not act this way.

She's just a typical kid, completely distracted from adult conversation and having fun by herself while they talk. Asking a young kid such questions with structure, it's natural for someone so young to not have a structured answer. If she is being taught to see herself as someone older, it hasn't worked, and she is still acting her age. She's not psycho, she's cute, and acting the part.

booboo googoo Of course being taught narcissism isn't "normal!" YOU brought up narcissism, I just made a connection between this kid and my own little boy. Also, (and this may be totally unrelated,) my son was JUST diagnosed with ADHD. I noticed some of the same "quirkiness" (for lack of a better word,) in this little girl that my son also portrays. Although most little kids can barely sit still without squirming,. at dinner, my son can't sit still for more than a bite at a time. I mean, he takes a bite and takes off, literally running in circles or trying to climb on the table. He also would (and still does) develop short lived facial tics that would get consistent and then die down and disappear. So many other factors were (and still are) a part of my son that were worrisome, to say the least, and, thankfully, after the diagnosis from our pediatrician, we are able to have access to the state and town's offered services that I'm still learning about but will absolutely use. All I can feel is relief at this point.
Now, I'm not saying that the little girl in this clip is ADHD at all, but I AM saying that you aren't her parent. You do not know anything about her and for you to call her "RUDE" is absolutely callous of you as well as judgemental, ignorant and insensitive. You don't know her, or her family or how she's being brought up behind closed doors. You're supposedly an adult, yet to make such a direct comment the way you did was just ignorant. It was also RUDE.

From a psychologist's point of view, it's actually so sad to see the reason she's behaving like that is that she's TERRIFIED of being on camera, and she doesn't really know what to do with her face. Also, she's completely disconnected from what's going on around her, so that probably means she DOESN'T LIKE what her mother makes her do. Most kids, when asked "what do you like?" will answer with something like "I like to play", "I like to be my sister", etc. They won't give you deep answers, but they won't say "I don't know". This kid doesn't truly know who she is, because her mother is obviously extremely dominant.
Or she's doing what every single one of us do in the mirror when we are alone because she probably can see herself on a screen and she's not really being included in the conversation so she's bored

She's got this little girl inside of her who has never been free nor does she even have a clue that this isn't how little girls live. I feel very sad for her. These mothers are stupid. I hate to see young children like this. I'm still young, but very mature, as you probably can tell. If I were to enter a pageant, which is something I have the option of doing, I would wear very appropriate attire and maybe a little lip gloss, that's it. I would indeed like to enter a pageant, and show the judges that beauty doesn't come from makeup and inappropriate clothing. I bet I'd win.

I have watched toddlers and tiaras before and the reason why they try to put as much makeup as they can trying not to look like a clown is because most of the girls like to be in glamour pageants more than natural pageants and some of the judges go for the team ( mother or father and daughter) that goes all out on the makeup and the dresses and the talent shows for what u describe as "toddler sluts" that's considered "beautiful" for contestants and judges all though I do agree with u and I do wish my parents would have put me in pageants for u I would probably recommend natural pageants

I think it comes from the persuasion of either society and parents that little girls who are barely capable of decision making. And nobody called them "Toddler sluts", I in fact blame everyone but those girls. They're told to be pretty and nothing else from such a young age, and it isn't healthy. As shown in the video here, that little girl's mind has been tweaked to be the vision of 'perfection'.
There are more reasons to ban child beauty pageants than there are to keep them. It influences people to be a lot less mature in the long run.

I have the same problem, there's this kid at my school that has a mother that let's him, watch pewdiepie, cussing in the house (and he does it at school too.) He's also a very spoiled kid. Like he gets to one, gets a samsung galaxy, gets a giant TV, and plays on screens whenever he wants too. He gets all the new devices too, just like PS4, XBOX 1, and many more. He isn't so humble about it too. He brags all about it. Heck, this is why I know this stuff. Also he's very rough, like he punches me when he gets the chance, and laughs every time he says something, unless he's under depression of course. As you can tell by this he seems really annoying, and he is. I'd exchange any kid at your school if I had the chance. He calls every kid at my school fat too. And he's skinny, but he isn't fit. He doesn't eat a lot, but he's not very athletic. I bet any fat kid at my school could beat him in a race, well some. And I absolutely love the comment I'm replying too, I ask myself that everyday. "Why do these kids have such bad parent, or why are they even behaving like this?" And remember, I'm only in 5th grade, by this kid, you can already see where these school days are going to become.

To the people complaining, you must not have 5 year old sons or daughters, nieces or nephews, or cousins. This is standard at that age in the early morning after a sugar high during "adult" conversation. Kids try to keep themselves active to rid themselves of boredom. She's doing what any normal 5 year old girl would do who sees herself on a monitor and giving standard one to two word answers to a stranger she has no interest in placating. Will he give her a doll to play with later? No. Will her giver her juice later? No. So she tunes out. But she listens to her mom because that is the adult that holds the power in this situation so she looks in his direction and stops playing around when mom orders her to. I have nieces and nephew this age and they do not act this way. Kids know how to behave at 5yrs., They might do some funny stuff with their friends or at home (not when they're is company) they sure don't act this way in public... there are many kids who are her age or younger, who have been on tv and do not act this way.
