Creative Grandma... you are something else!!! You are always doing SO MUCH... for us!!! SO BUSY!!!! I sure hope you know how much I appreciate you!!!! You have helped me through some difficult times. My husband has been in the hospital 4 times in the past 6 weeks. He is in kidney failure, and has congestive heart failure. Whenever I have to sit in the waiting room.... especially during dialysis... I crochet... and I think of all the folks that have helped us during this time. ... and yes, YOU are on that list. I take some of your patterns with me (already in a bag with the pattern, hooks and scissors already in the bag. Just pick one up and I can go.) ... so with that said.... I say THANK YOU WITH ALL MY HEART for what you do for us.... for me!
I have never used 2 strans of yarn together like this... now, I think I want to make a rug! :)
Marge I have been where you are, I sat at the er for 8 hours just waiting for them to see my dad when he was in congestive heart failure, he has since passed, my mom has kidney diease and I too spend a lot of time at the hospital and always have a crochet project bag with me. It is a life saver to have something to work on when setting so long. My prayers go out to you. Hope your husband gets well soon. Love Creative Grandma
@@CreativeGrandma Bless you!!!!
I love this rug pattern. It brings back so many memories of my childhood as this stitch was one of the first decorative stitches I learned. Watching (and copying) my Mamma, I learned how to crochet , knit, needlepoint, latch hook, cook, bake, paint (Acrylics), and, draw,. I have also picked up other crafts over the years since being a child back in the 70's (born in 1968 LOL!). While not an expert at any of those crafts, I love to crochet / knit, and, cook / bake most of all.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm using bernat blanket. I have 3 balls of it. Been trying different stitches. I wanted to do a puff stitch type thing but was struggling with how with the huge yarn. Holding the bernat blanket with another strand of yarn. Either homespun or I also have baby velvet that gives it some shiny texture.
I just started this project in ‘ Bernat’ blanket yarn. It’s so beautiful. 🤩 This stitch is great. I’m learning so much. Thanks.
Hi did you finish your mat? was also thinking about using Bernat blanket, since it is a bigger yarn do you recommend using a P hook instead of an N? Thanks 😊
@@louellagallardo-mortensen8030 yes I finished it. I used a hook up a size recommendation by manufacturer, I'm a 'tight ' crocheter
Omg that's what I'm doing right now. Holding some velvet yarn or homespun together with it for a rug for my living room. I have several types of black yarns that will look pretty held together. I was going to do a bunch of different mixed media acrylic yarns but now not sure if it should be the same all over. Probably with this pattern. I was gonna do the loop stitch but that looks like a nightmare to clean.
This rug is beautiful purple and green are my favorite colors
The pattern works well too if you alternate bobbles instead of aligning them. That is not putting bobble exactly above each other.
Row 2 : SC . Puff stitch repeat
Row 3. SC
Row 4: SC X2 . Then puff stitch, SC repeat to end and 2 x SC
Row 5: SC
Repeat row 2 to row 5
This gives alternating puff/bobble
Really pretty
That's a good idea, and easy to do. I might try that with the next one.
Love the rug and appreciate that sometimes you said in this video Yarn over instead of Yarn over the Hook, constantly. Really , really appreciate when you say only: “ yarn over.” Thank you Glenda🌷
The bright colour one is lovely
I like this rug , the colors look like they belong together
Absolutely beautiful!I love the ice yarn.
I made this rug a couple of years ago (maybe right after you posted this pattern). My feet are currently on it :) I used a strand of variegated and a strand of solid color, and did the border in the solid. It still looks good. It goes flat a bit after a while (I am a loose crocheter, maybe should have used a smaller hook) but a trip through the washer and dryer and it puffs right back up. I'm really pleased with it.
These stitch is beautiful. I have some super thick yarn, this would make a beautiful rug. Thank so much for sharing your video with all of us. ❤
I love the soft pastel colors and the the bright yarn! The purpl and grey yarn, iys going to turn out amazing!
I never thought of a crocheted bath mat!!! So much prettier than my shower mat. Love this. I will be doing this for sure! Love the mat, but not in purple. I will probably do it in all white or a light blend of white/beige.
I've done the puff stitch in the treble crochet before and it really gobbles up the yarn. That's fine. You are the best!!!! Thanks so much. 💙💚💛💜💕
Looks so soft and warm, yet just right for bathroom
What a neat project
Love the rug and adore Ice Yarns! Great project Glenda, thanks for sharing!
That's so pretty it makes me want to change the colors in my bathroom to go with the rug!!
Really like this rugs, new project. Thank you Glenda.
This is perfect, I have been looking for a mat for my kitchen to stand on while I do my dishes. This is the best idea I have seen giving a little spongy feel when standing. Spring colours would be lots of fun too. Thank you for showing how to make. I have saved the video until I get the yarn.
Lots of pretty Stitch and I can't wait to do it I like the colors and the texture of it and I can make it any color I want to match the decor of the room thanks again for showing us this stitch.
Your explanations are great & the filming is wonderfully clear, making it easy to follow. Thank you 💕
I'm so in love😍😍😍 Thank you for such a great tutorial!! You explained it so perfectly. You are a great teacher!!❤
Love the rug and the colors
Honestly the yarn is so inexpensive that the shipping kind of evens out. If you order I believe 150$ it’s free and the yarn is beautiful. Nothing like this at Walmart I promise you that. I love Ice Yarns. Save up or get some other people to go in with you. That’s a good idea to ball the two yarns together. Love all your tutorials, Glenda! Thank you for all you do.
I can't wait till this is finished. I'm moving into a new apartment very soon, and this would look perfect for my bathroom.
Love the colors!
Thank you Creative Grandma! I’m always looking for something new to crochet. This seems fun and easy. I appreciate your time and easily understood instructions. 😁
Beautiful rug pattern thanks Glenda lots of love

Great project, Glenda!! That yarn is delicious!! Great idea for a rug with Magic Bulky! Big hugs!!😘😘
Oh how pretty is that. Perfect color and great idea. Thank you.....
Great tutorial love the colors and you make it seem so easy. However I will try it. Thank you Glenda.💜
Very beautiful Creative Grandma!
Can't wait to do this but will probably use cotton. Trying to move away from synthetic fibers. 👍💖
Beautiful!
Oh I love this rug. You make I look so easy. Thank you
Love the colours you picked, beautiful and so nice and fluffy. Too pretty💕
Very nice
That is a pretty bathroom rug.
It is beautiful
A lovely piece but I'm not sure I'd use acrylic for a bath mat. Though with the nonslip, it would be great next to a bed or even atop another carpet next to a bed.
Loved this rug mam its beautiful
I like that rug very cute
THANK YOU THANK YOU! !
I was just wondering how to make a bathmat and a bedside rug 😊I can't wait to get started 💓👏👍 your the BEST
You can increase the width by adding multiples of 2 and repeat the rows until you get to desired length
This is just awesome. Thanks for sharing
This is very creative, purple is one of my favorite colors!🤩
Wow beautiful rug. Ty for dollar tree tip, I've never seen those there will have to check. 👍
Great pattern! I did one using Lion Brand Woolease Thick & Quick in "storm front." I had several balls I'd got on sale. I did find the backing at the Dollar Tree in my area. I use it under my desk to keep my feet warm. I posted a picture to your Facebook Page.
Love this pattern, making it right now but using Bernat Maker Home Dec instead just thought for the bathroom you would want cotton for the water. It is also a 5 bulky and I also used 2 strands, turned out wonderful.
This is an awesome rug! Great color combos.
Thank you, very well explained.
That’s really cute! The colors are gorgeous!
The stitch choice Excellent! 💜💚
I love it. Thank you. 🐨🐨
Great pattern!! I love this idea
Thank you so much for the tutorial.. I love it.. This what am looking for.. So beautiful.. 👍👍
They look really nice
I like any yarn with the color green 😂
Yesss green is the best xD
I think cotton would probably absorb better but it would have to be a nice one to be as pretty as that one is. The colors were great together. Very good teacher!♥️💥🌈
Love this!!! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for this tutorial I made one and came out so nice for such easy pattern
Wow!! Lovely project, Glenda! I love the texture of the rug. I just added this to my future projects, my apartment is going to be filled with crocheted items from couch throw, mail organizer, kitchen dishcloths, potholders, toilet cover, and afghans for our bedrooms:)
I am going to have to take my time doing this one. Thank you for this pattern
Very pretty !!! Love it !!! ❤️❤️Thank you
I just finished mine last night, love it! Thanks for the video ❤️
Hello Glenda, this Rug is Gorgeous 😁 love the colour you used 💚💜💕😋 Erica x
Love this....Hope I can try this one soon....I have 3 WIPs 😀 TFS
I have started the rug and it's looking great.Your yarn is so beautiful but I need to use loads of leftover yarn and this will be a great project for that.
That rug mat looks pretty great work
Beautiful rug I would like to make one for my bathroom
Thanks so much! Love it!
I saw this tutorial and instantly wanted to make it! But I will be using non-ice yarn. I think it would be so fluffy if you were to use chenille yarn or mohair.
Love it I need to save money for this one next project
Just imagine how soft that is i will have to make one for my baby boy room..
I am that girl you guys put under in Alabama to see how your work was being put on TV before you introduced it had my hands digiattly monitored back in 1980,s to for crocheting
,love this I'm new to your you tube and just love it. You make it look so easy and you do a wonderful job teaching us thank you. Also loved going to ac Moore with you.
You are such a great instructor. I rate you up there with Very Pink who teaches knitting. I believe she is in Austin, Texas.
Hello. Did I just miss it not sure, the size of your hook? Thank you. Very beautiful!
Great pattern ! I was a little disappointed that you didn't show what method you used to add the backing on to it! You maybe should show for new and old crocheters what's the best way to add?
Can you do this with cotton yarn?
Cool I’d like to make one for the bathroom. Thank you
Beautiful ❤️
Dear glenda
I,m going to make this for my bathroom and my bathroom is purple and so are all 5he towels and everything else to
Hi Glenda, I love the rug and I would love to make a few around my house. The only question I have is. How did you do the non slip mat on? I have never done this before. Can you please let me know? Thank you so much ! And thank you so much for sharing this tutorial.❤️😊
I want to know that as well. You might be able to crochet it into the back of the rug/mat.
You can just lay it under the rug or sew it on the back of your rug on the wrong side
I love the color and rug, question is it ok to use Acrylic for the bathroom due to the wetness in the bathroom?
Love this..Am I missed Byrne hook size? Thank you.
Love this project. I have 2 questions: 1. How do you wash it? 2. How did you apply the backing? Did you sew it on or fuse it? I've never used rug backing before.
Trish you can just lay the backing under the rug and keep it seperate, or you can sew it on the backside of the rug, their are many different kinds of rug backing, you may prefer a different kind, they have a rubber backing that is nicer then the dollar tree backing I believe you can get it at Joanns fabrics.
This mat is very nice, thank you for the tip where to buy the rug backing.
I love this pattern. Is it ok to use 100% acrylic yarn or better to use 100% cotton yarn or a cotton blend?
I do not have ice yarn can I used another kind thinking of bernat baby blanket yarn since so soft or any acrylic yarn. Thank you for taking time out reading the comments
I ordered yarn to do this but not enough so have to order more.
I am manufacturer and exporter from India.
Gorgeous but how to inset the underlay
Do you have a similar matching pattern for pedestal mat? I would love to make a matching one. Thankyou for this lovely clear video.
Glenda, did you have to attach the underlay to your rug? If so what did you use. I really like this rug. Thank you for the tutorial.
How do you both ends of a ball without twisting yarn
Ok so how did you attach the rubber Mat underneath it?
