Ethan is 100% right about how weird it is that the husband is getting in on all the videos. It feels very possessive to me... it was self defense, even if gypsy might’ve done it w a murderous intent, her mom would abuse her, drug her, and manipulate gypsy until her unfortunate death. her mother didn’t care abt gypsys life, and it’s unfortunate that gypsy used this route to escape her abuse, but she did her time, and now she’s out. hopefully, she takes care of herself.

But she said she posted it so that they would find her body. Honestly she would have gotten away with it without those posts. She probably didn’t understand the IP adress was traceable but maybe she did. She never tried to lie once she told the truth to the police from the beginning. And it is understood that Dee Dee most likely killed her own mother. Murder is wrong in any case. But this case seems to be “eat or be eaten” if Dee Dee hadn’t died Gypsy would have. And Dee Dee 100% would have gotten away with it. Gypsy felt trapped because Dee Dee had everyone so fooled and she had full control over her adult daughter. She tried to run away at 19 and her mom dragged her back and told everyone she was a minor. The only thing she could have done was ran away FAR like to another state and changed her identity so her mom couldn’t find her. But that would be impossible to do in reality. I think it’s very sad and weird how people can’t seem to grasp just unfair the situation was. People tend to forget how easy it is to influence a child into believing something. That’s why they’re so easily taken advantage of and exploited. Why parents need to protect them from literally everything and anything. Children will believe anything their parents say because the parent to a child is their entire life. A mother could tell their child about Santa Claus and they will 100% believe it. A mother could tell their child that they are incapable of doing something because they are sick and they will believe it. The mother was already at an advantage with their community believing she was a good woman, nobody believed someone could lie about such a thing. Or even get away with it. Gypsy was already seen as mentally ill and incapable anyway, so even if she tried to get help anyone would immediately try and find her mother. Probably assuming she’s just delusional because of her “illnesses”. Same goes for police, nobody would believe her for a second. It’s so manipulative. And Gypsy knew her mother would get angry if she even tried to go against her and what she was manipulating Gypsy into believing. She couldn’t even be in a doctors office without her mother breathing over her shoulder, holding her hand with a tight grip. She was 100% trapped and manipulated to believe that she can’t be without her mother. She didn’t even know how old she was.. like how are people not able to empathize?

This really wasn't the best work for the powerpoint. There were so many important details that were left out that Lena was able to bring to the segment. There is a lack of effort here that Olivia tends to have with certain topics. Along with wanting to make Gypsy appear in a better light when it should be objective. The idolization that Olivia brought to the powerpoint is inappropriate considering that Gypsy was involved in the murder at the end of the day. Calling her a "queen" is no different than groupies idolizing serial killers, it's weird. I enjoy the powerpoints when there is a good effort in research and trying to state the facts. Lena did an amazing job with the Night Stalker ppt and I hope she is given more opportunities to present these types of topics. Sadly i think Olivia really wants to make the women be painted in a better light and her bias really brings these segments down.

Gypsy had a double life that she hid from her mom. When she "attempted" to run away, she conveniently left her phone behind, knowing DD would find it, hoping she would find it. She was codependent and thrived on the attention back then, just as she is now.
She 💯 had other ways out, she is just a sociopath and manipulated someone for over a year to kill her mom. Her communication with him is vile and shows how disturbed she is. She lied from the beginning and is still lying. HBO and lifetime documentaries dont match up, and if you pay attention to details, she changes the story.
Everyone around her is exploitative, along for the cash cow she is now. Her husband has creep factor. But, she is also manipulating even him. In the prison confessions, she says some crazy backhanded stuff to him to hurt him and to get her way.
She went through some horrific things, and I'm sympathetic. However, this media circus and influencer stuff is so sad. It is weird to see this phenomenon of a lying, deceitful person be so supported. She is just like her mom. She is doing exactly what her mom taught her.
She needs to remain in therapy. Eventually her social media status and supporters will fall back when her mask slips.

She made videos after thr murder joking about how her boyfriend was hungry after killing her mom, so he ate a snack cake and then she laughs and says

If he was a psychopath he wouldn’t have questioned it! Even after murdering DEEDEE he regretted & cried so much! It was Gypsy that said “dont cry John. It wasnt your fault. It’s mines! It was my idea to kill her!”

As an autistic adult, I can tell you for certain that many doctors unfortunately automatically assume that people who struggle with communication aren’t capable of making their own medical decisions or knowing what’s wrong with their own body despite the person being completely of sound mind. Even if Gypsy had gone to a doctor on her own and tried to explain, she didn’t know what medications she was on, she didn’t know what age she actually was, they would have probably seen she had actual medical issues (that were caused by the prolonged medical abuse but without context that wouldn’t be apparent), so this wouldn’t have been a healthy young woman walking into a hospital and asking for help. She herself was convinced for years that she functioned mentally at a younger age than she was, it would have been so difficult for her to get even begin to convince any doctor that she wasn’t ill and wasn’t loopy, purely due to the fact that there was actual (incorrect and in many cases faked) medical records on file by the time she was actually trying to escape, which included the claim that gypsy had brain damage from previous seizures and wasn’t of sound mind or capable of making her own decisions. Even if she had escaped and made it to a medical facility, they would have most likely gotten the cops involved bc they would consider her a vulnerable adult, the cops would likely contact the mom and have her brought home and deedee would have just covered it up as Gypsy having an episode, maybe adult protective services open a case and check in once or twice, but it’s known now that her mom would drug gypsy when CPS came to make her appear extremely disabled and it worked, so who’s to say they wouldn’t have fallen for it again. I honestly believe if deedee was still alive gypsy rose would be dead.

Her mother changed her birth certificate to make gypsy younger and her mother had gypsy's power of attorney so no matter what gypsy was in a hard position and when you are in an abusive relationship no matter what the relationship its hard to see a way out.

She had time to meet a man online and plan a murder, but she couldn't contact many people and say hey my moms abusing me? She could have him come to the house and murder her mother while her mother slept, but she couldn't just run with the guy? I don't think this murder was excusable and it definitely doesn't fall under self defense when the victim was asleep.
Also which grandpa abused her? DeeDees dad? So maybe that's why deedee was so fucked too?? People forget, she was severely mentally ill. If anyone's to blame, it's doctors for not looking into anything and not doing their jobs. The fact shes now famous and rich off murdering her mother is insanity. This world is fucked. Quit worshipping killers.

mad weird take and extremely fucked speculations to make about her husband. if y’all actually listened to her speak, gypsy herself said she wishes people would just let her live her life and that if she got married “too soon” then so be it. she had her ENTIRE LIFE controlled, and then y’all make judgments on her actions and disapprove of her relationship- just like her mom did. i see why people weren’t happy with this power point, it’s beyond botched

    • @sybill123ful

seeing stuff like this helps reaffirm the decision to stop watching this show. good riddance
also- speaking as someone with CPTSD no where near gypsys level, even i have gotten caught even deeper in toxic cycles because of third parties interjecting their opinion on my life; and feeling the need to prove to myself others don’t control me- because of having extremely controlling parents (again, not even close to gypsys mom). Just saying, making fun of and “offering’ unwarranted opinions on someone’s extreme traumas, typically will drive them further into the trauma and away from those that constantly have to say they care about her. Just food for thought t(ツ)_/¯

remember, you can’t profit off of your crimes while you’re in prison, which is why she waited to release this book and documentary and all this BS until she got out because now she can make money off of it if she really cared about sharing her story for prison reform purposes, she would’ve been doing that while she was in prison, but she couldn’t make money then. think with your brains guys. 🤦🏼‍♀️
