Just used this propane torch to remove hard lacquer from a large bronze coin/medallion. It worked great. Thanks.

Wish I had seen this, I would have tried the propane torch. I tried acetone, mineral spirits, to strip my new lacquered cabinet hinges, nothing. Then I used Aircraft brand paint remover at the recommendation of the cabinet company. The lacquer came off, but it completely gummed up the hinges and they were completely stuck. I did another long soak in lacquer thinner but that didn't help. Then soaked in Goo Gone, which got them moving again, but still really stiff. Sprayed with WD-40 to no avail. I might have just ruined almost $700 worth of brand new solid brass hinges....
