    Sami Hamdi poses an excellent question for the Muslim Ummah to ponder on: where do I fit in?? EVERY Muslim must turn away from imitating past colonial masters, must resist adopting secular ideas, MUST follow the sunnah in every respect, not choosing and picking, but obeying wholly and unstintingly Allah swt and His prophet, peace be upon him, if Muslims want to ride this irresistible wave. We, each one of us, MUST turn back to the Way of Allah and the Quran.

      Please note that this will be a collective process, requiring collective and gradual - even evolutionary - process. A good example is Islamic banking in the West, which has mostly been met with defeat - i.e. scholars are now saying that the interest-based system in the West is halal, as there is no halal option. Instead of throwing in the towel, as they did, or wholesale starting a new system without planning, we must work together, and we must accept small efforts to change as well as large.

    Apprecaite that Sami Hamdi approaches the subject from a non-sectarian lens.
    A big reason why we have been so behind rest of the world is the fact that we have been so passionately divided in sects, ethnicities and nationalities.
    Love the fact that Israel has brought all the people together regardless of their sectarian background and their ethnic background.

    its about time for muslim to start developing(invest) futuristic modern communal nuclear family livelihood township@settlement/village at all over the world. Kibbutz are the backbone for israel and we have our "early madinah" to be our "model". We know our "value of money" becoming decreasing (if we think our retirement saving is enough to provide@ live happily 10-15 years from now on)..assalamualaiqum

    • @szahmad2416
      @szahmad2416 Год назад

      Agreed. The first thing we should stop doing is building so many huge mosques. For prayer space, that's ridiculously expensive and very inefficient. Building an extra floor with prayer and wudu space on top of multiple Muslim-owned restaurants, halal meat stores and clothing stores - even auto repair and general stores in the heart of the city - would be MUCH more cost-effective, and would serve the communities far more.

    What’s your take on Hamza Yousuf, the first minister of Scotland? Is that good for the Muslims in Britain too?

    • @szahmad2416
      @szahmad2416 Год назад

      I can't answer for him, but I would say yes, even if he's not a full-fledged practicing Muslim. Same as the London mayor Sadiq Khan. Again, this is an evolutionary process, so just the fact that enough regular Scottish/British people are willing to entrust leadership to a person with a Muslim-sounding name today means their children may be willing to accept much more tomorrow.
