I once saw an NRBQ/Los Lobos show at the Trocadero Club in Philadelphia in August in late 90s (I think, lol). Probably the most fun I've ever had a rock and roll concert. "The Troc" was a great old small theater on Arch Street in Philadelphia right next to Chinatown. It had beautiful classic private balconies on the side along with a balcony opposite the stage above the dance floor. That beautiful August Thursday night was the beginning of my vacation/birthday week that summer. The Troc night was full that night but not too full. So moving to and from the stage was never an issue and the vibe with the crowd was a 10/10. A perfect night.
I photographed the Blasters back in the late 80's. They were very kind and gracious; even though they must've been exhausted after they put on a kickass show!
Love both bands, but Los Lobos clearly borrowed that opening guitar intro for "Will the Wolf Survive" at 30:18 from Nick Lowe's song "Peace, Love and Understanding," later made famous by Elvis Costello.
40 years later and these musical national treasures are still kicking ass! Excellent show at the OC fair.
Love these guys and high energy
Rockabilly!

Outrageously tight and joyful.

Dos bandas de culto. Algo mas???
You could see Phil's facial contortions in the back row.
Классное рокабилли. Блестерз на разогреве у Лос Лобос были, получается? 🤔
He makes that weird face...😂
