Excellent video Owen - I've talked to several dealers who all say don't buy the 11" X35 if you have an 'old' 11" black coil. What they didn't say was buy an elliptical coil - so that will possibly be my next purchase. Most helpful and much appreciated thank you.

Thank you for the video and information, just what I was looking for. I have the elliptical HF and the 11” black coil, and was wondering if it was worth buying the new x35, apparently not! Thanks again here from the island of Bornholm in the Baltic sea, Denmark
Close my eyes and it’s like listening to Jeremy Clarkson😂 Great vid though. I have been using the x35 since launch, very pleased with it, have both the other HF Coils, very much horses for courses..
I was thinking of buying the x35 coil but your honesty and demo made me think and I will just stick with my 9 inch HF coil on the Orx.. I've been fortunate to find a bronze age palstave style axe head 3200-3500 yrs old on new years eve 2019 and found my first hammered few weeks back an Edward l (long shanks) silver penny. Only been detecting just over a year so pleased with my machine as it is, I don't think I need anything bigger really. great video :)
Great video Owen and very informative, as you know I have 9" black coil 11" black and a white elliptical HF, I was going to buy the X35 I was told by a certain supplier that I do not need one as I have all the frequencies necessary, I hope this information is helpful.
stjopuszka thanks bud that’s down to the camera man he’s a bit of a legend his company is called cyclone blue limited check him out on insta stay safe buddy 😀
Thanks for this. When I purchased my Deus I got the HF elliptical coil, however a few months back I got the HF round and it's much better IMO. The target separation between the two is almost identical, but the round coil is much punchier, giving you slightly better depth and making those hard-to-hear targets louder in your ears. I never use the elliptical now, in fact I'm selling it and I have purchased the X35 11" featured here as my second coil. I have a permission next to a Roman road that's pasture so I want that extra depth to try and pull out those deep targets. On my trashy orchard sites, which have been ploughed a couple of times to put in fruit trees, the HF round will still be the winner I think because there is loads of crap lying around (foil wrappers, bits of old wire, iron) and the target separation of the HF is just brilliant. I know some Deus users end up getting all the coils - like you, I don't think it's worth the expense. Two of them will do - one HF, one X35 and you've got it covered. I do think if you tried the round HF, you'd probably end up swapping from your elliptical. The elliptical is amazing for searching out tiny gold nuggets in the Australian outback, but you'll find those tiny hammered and Roman coins with the HF round and it has clear advantages.
I’ve got the round too bud it’s good also I think if you have a 13 and a 9 your covered for most scenarios there great bits of kit just don’t need all five coils in with you in that
Brilliant video Owen - you're a natural at this celebrity lark :-) Just pull up your jeans next time - and while I could hear the pinpointer the detector was not coming through. But this is as good as the official Deus videos which come out!
Nice video , I think X35 is better for general searching in most off the scenarios. Yes it goes a little bit deeper as you said. Hf elliptical coil is really sensible , it’s possible that you will dig some target that the pinpointer does not get and is better for the target separation between iron. Personally I have both of this coils and I use the first time I go on a new site the 11” x35 , then if the site is good I pass again with Hf Eliptical. Hello from Italy , metal detecting in the uk is one of my dream.
Andrea De Benedictis thanks bud yes your rite if you have not already got a black of coil defo get the x35 anytime your over in the uk drop us a line come Join us 😀
I have had almost all coils. Was happy with my 11 inch old one, then got the HF round, didn't really like it, swapped it for the 11" x35.. didn't really do it for me either. Now I have the old 9" again and it's my favorite. Two days ago i went over 2 Roman fields with that elliptical one, but didn't find ANYTHING except small foil balls... on my straight line to the car, I dig up a crossbow Roman Brooch. It's only my 2nd brooch in 10 yrs. WHY ? lol.
Hi bud not sure we’re not you tubers we were just having a play to see if we could lots to learn on the filming front we had problems doing close ups because his 4K lense did not like close ups lol he needs another lense for that there quite expensive he’s saving lol
Yes, l’m just saying that that’s pretty mild compared to some of our contaminated villa sites. Are you using the full tones hot program? Easily the best program for bad sites, the positive signals just ping out through the noise.
Just found you as was looking up x35 coils, hope you don’t mind me say so but I though I was listening to Jeremy Clarkson lol, you sound so similar, thanks for info 😀
Jason Miller not bad like most deus coils they handle emi better than most makes if it does get a bit twitchy I just drop the Sensitivity a tad that normally settles it down

What about the 9"LF, I'd trade that for the 11" X35 and pair it with my 9" HF elliptical? Feel like the LF is a bit more stable in certain conditions than the HF, but otherwise it doesn't really do much the LF cannot do(besides the lower frequencies, but the X35 can do that too).
Matthäus Ranigler it’s the super high frequency in the hf elliptical I like super tiny targets sound lovely and clear

Since I have it I rarely even used the 9" LF, but I do notice the missing depth, which is the only thing that bothers me with the Deus a bit. I have a desertgold that goes deeper, but thats an entierly different machine, no VDI, single tone and heavy. Would the switch 9"LF 11"X35 be worth it?
Matthäus Ranigler if you want the extra depth I’d get the 13 inch lf there probably a bit cheaper now too don’t get me wrong x35 is good but not world changing

Yess it’s defo worth getting it if you don’t have a larger lf coil there brilliant but just not worth the investment if you have an old 13 Inch coil not much between them two but it will compliment your small hf very well good on pasture

Nice genuine video showing good and bad recoveries whilst digging live ,no noisy intros no tattoos no silly haircuts or piercings, call me old fashioned,!!! A good comparison ,ive gone through the the full monty of Deus coils bar one ,Deus standard old coils or non X35 have nothing to fear IMO and will still pick up airgun pellets 2.2 caps and small minims using the higher frequencies 12 or 17 kHz . What you have shown here is the really good target seperation of the small eliptical coil ,but you loose out on depth ,, yeh I can hear you say you've found bigger targets at greater depths which is as you would be, Ive had both HF coils they are as described by Garry Blackwell primarily for gold prospecting ,very high frequencies .with a couple of useable frequencies that could be used for general detecting the type we do here in the UK. So the only coil Ive not used ,and Ive got the 11inch x35 which works well for me ,is the 9inch x35 which will give you better seperation and lightness higher useable frequencies ,and it wouldn't surprise me if XP brought out a black eliptical 9x5 would be a winner ,wonderful machine the Deus ..........
Couple of tips, while filming put the Deus on the speaker so all of us can hear the signals, buy a decent full side spade which won't break your back, it will dig your targets much faster and easier, and lastly use the pinpointer function on control box to dig right 'on' the target the first time. For the rest I like the video and I like the bokeh of your lens/camera.
I don’t use pinpoint function bud no need to you wiggle your coil back when you lose the signal target is on the front of the coil every time😀 also I had a microphone taped to my neck you can clearly hear the tones nice and lovely you may need to check your speakers?
