I own the same camera and it's good to hear that you like it over the FX6, which was the cinema camera I was considering after learning about the Sony cinema line with the FX3's release. The Viltrox E-mount adapter has some play with my Rokinon DSX lenses so I had to get a matte box to clamp the lens to rods so my focus motor can pull focus without any jitters in the image. The interchangeable lens mounts were the main reason I considered this camera and you said all this footage was H.265 and not even ProRes that's amazing. I've been shooting in LT to get 1H30mins on a 256GB card but I definitely will switch to HEVC when I need more runtime 👍
For sure in terms of image quality/money investment the Zcam is a better option. But fx3 is more convenient in terms of autofocus I think. So while for some commercial work I would prefer the Zcam, for youtube stuff though the Sony would be a better option if I need someone else to film me and the person doesnt know how to manually focus, you know what I mean
@@StevenDivish not gonna lie, autofocus was a big factor when I bought it. And its image quality is better than any of my previous cameras. But still, I felt the price was too high.
There’s just something about ZCam… I sold my S6 and then recently bought it back- internal pro res, 6K, and the image quality are huge, and hard to find in other pricier cameras Oh and awesome review! Greetings from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦

I usually colorgrade with their plugin, its great for a quick turnaround and delivering good image quality for big loads of projects in short period of time
Yeah I have been rocking Zcam since 2019, what a beast! Had to sell it because I wanted to pursue RUclips full time and wanted something with AF and portable, otherwise it's a keeper!

I actually like that screen. Once, while testing 5G networks with raspberry Pi, I was begging like a little girl for any size screen to plug in. Jokes aside, the Z-Cam considers using the phone app as a control surface for the camera. Next, autofocus: you get the DJI LiDAR autofocus system and bang! Better AF than Canon.

I love my z cam e2f6 but out of no where it stopped working, a fast led flashing happened and it doesn’t allow me to record, and the customer service is almost non existent I haven’t been able to get a hold of the company.

Good call on selling it. For half the price of this zcam F6 you can get Sigma fp with 12-bit raw + gamut of features. Or, you can get Lumix S5 Mk-II for $1K less than Zcam f6 and get an AF, great features and never look back. Zcam might be a good company, but they don't hold competitive advantage by keeping prices high. This is a crowded market.
The F6 is now 2,999 new and the F6 Pro is 3,999 and comes with Pro connections, V-mount, more custom buttons, a 5in monitor that controls the cam with no lag and you can use cfast2.0 cards or their new proprietary media that's very affordable and fast. For 4K and you'll have external RAW if you want it, I think that's a steal
Haven't gotten yet haha, planning to buy on in 2 weeks hopefully. I need something compact for traveling and lightweight too to have it on the go with me :)

Yeah Sony needs to do something about their camera app... The Zcam does have zraw, but I heard its just h265 and not true Raw, however I am not a pixel peeper so its not the reason Im not using it, For me workflow with zraw is just too complicated and not time efficient. And my clients were always happy with the result h265 gives, so all of the footage in this video is h265

I'm not a fan of 265 for mastering as if you shift from different programs (Avid/DR et. al.) and it saves each time then you end up with a lot of loss by the time the final is output. But I could see an initial ingestion then conversion to DNx working. I looked at the specs the other day and it looks like it only allows 12 bit on the hdmi output, is that correct?

I must say the Sony app drives me nuts. I’m having a problem where my iPhone says it’s connected. My FX 30 says it’s connected but in the app it can’t connect. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app and it still doesn’t work. The camera has the latest update, it’s just insane. To the point I have just given up on the app. 😒
really strange you compare this camera only with a sony.... so many better options in this price range.... panasonic s1h or even bs1h...blackmagic 6k pro....Sigma FP....canon c70 or r5c....and who knows how many more....really strange...i never think of sony when i see a box little camera like this (in most of them the app works really great mate)
Hey Mike, thanks for your comment! Well, first of all I am only comparing it with the cameras I used on my projects in real life. Second, you yourself comparing BM pocket to canon c70 or canon 5rc which are completely different price range. Plus some are fullframe, some super 35, some have great autofocus, some manual only... Third, s1H is a good camera and has a similar sensor to zcam f6, however I wouldnt compare a photo camera with a cinema one as they serve different purpose. So maybe in the future Ill get to try and compare those cameras for a youtube video, but until then I can only speak coming from my personal experience

Don't exclude the people (like myself) who already know what an e2 is, because the only reason I've clicked here was to share my opinion about your title, otherwise I'd just scroll thorough. My only goal is to help and I hope you'll see it at the end. So instead of saying "You Never Even Heard of" choose something that has a refashion with your own feelings about it, like "...I never thought I'll like this much" or "...I wasn't sure about and here's what I've learned." or something like that. Because your actual one is telling me that I can not be interested in your content, because it's not made for me, although it's not quite true. The camera is interesting, and I've learned about back when it was a concept prop on the first show it even popped on publicly. All I'm trying to say is to build valuable interest, try to think about your given values first. Telling about a camera for someone who never heard about it is less valuable then telling about your personal experience with a product that is interesting in any way besides the fact it'll still work for both parties. Aaaand I'm only telling based on your thumbnail and title, because yes, your thumbnail have spoiled the "secret" already just by recognising the Z-cam from the image, if you know what I mean.
