I purchased one last week. I have the turbo and it's fun to drive. In sport mode you have no choice but to go fast so I leave it in eco mode when I'm not in a rush. There's a normal mode which I haven't tried yet. Interior is excellent and it looks amazing on the outside with the rims and moonroof. The only downfall is when you hit a bump at 55mph or up it feels like a log hit the bottom of your car. I'm thinking it's because the car is low to the ground. I traded in my 2013 honda accord exl for this car. I am impressed with the Optima, looks like a baby stinger.
One correction: 2.0T makes 245 HP, 2.4L 185 HP. 2.0T is down ~30 HP from last generation's Optima (made 274 HP from the same turbo engine). Nice review!
@mikeydlove I had a 2019 brand new Mazda 6 as well as my optima. Ended up selling it back to the dealership, it drives crappie with horrible gas mileage, but it's a good looking car but too much road noise at 80 mph but the Optima is probably not the sportiest but the ride is soo smooth and quiet lol and also personally I think the six trim is the most handsome in this segment especially exterior wise, but the Mazda 6 has the best interior in this segment! But like I said its been a great car, almost at 70k miles and still get compliments every day lol!
I have this car and I love it but the sound system is total garbage unfortunately. I'd like to get new speakers but im not sure if the amp is crap too.
It's 245hp and 260 lbs of tq, of course it's relatively fast (0 - 60 in 5.9 seconds). It's very comparable to the Audi A4 with the 2.0T, the BMW 330i with the 2.0T and the Mercedes C300 with the 2.0T.
Monsieur Africain 2.0T is pretty slow compare to audi, 0-60 is actual 7.5-8.0 in real life, not even come close to low 7s, front wheel drive, massive weight and slow automatic transmission... (( Forgot to mention a bad, bad PU "leather" seats that wears out at 15-20k miles easily ((
Monsieur Africain Thanks for that link, great review by the way, but he only saying numbers.., im talking about real, mesured acceleration. Try to search for it on youtube, there are number of those, measured by a racelogic particularly.
Ko6pa, 0 - 60 times differ from tester to tester and certain things can cause a much slower 0 - 60 time (higher elevation above sea level for instance).
Overall I do like the optima, but if you go over a small bump, than you know that you just drove over a small bump, and like most other mid size sedans, unless you put snow tires on it, than it is going to be horrendous in snow or ice covered roads
o3MTA3o I want to CD player because none of these techno-geeks give me a decent explanation as to how Spotify and Pandora can possibly be better than a CD player
I drove my coworkers 2011 optima and the seats were so hard. Sadly ill stick with my 99 acura 3.5rl. No need for a new car since this one rides better and it much more comfortable
crazy, check out canadian optima models. It's available in every trim except the very basic one that doesn't come with much of anything in Canada. At the bottom you can scroll down to the model comparison. www.kia.ca/optima?sourceid=new-nav

Unreliable wouldn’t trust Korean quality as far as Hyundai

Monsieur Africain And we are talking about 0-60 mph i suppose, not 0-60KMh ?

Just got one couple days ago and I love it. FAST sucks it’s 2018 and no auto start which sucks but it is what it is. But amazing car
Be careful of its reliability
@@issavibez394 what do you mean?
"Don't wanna get hit by a train!"
Looks one way.
Good overview but I need to take some Dramamine after watching it.

Does adaptive cruise control come standard on this trim
I would go looking for a tune to get this engine closer to 270 hp
future boy here..did it blow up yet?
Wow, Cville TN. Nice review
Sxl
Like the look inside and out but not having a CD player is a deal breaker
Lol. I don't think anyone's added those since 2012.
o3MTA3o I want to CD player because none of these techno-geeks give me a decent explanation as to how Spotify and Pandora can possibly be better than a CD player
My KIA sportage R 2l does 267hp

Nothing you said has to do with this video
Top Kia k5
Looks better then the k5
2018 and they still don’t have remote start just sad
It’s weird. A lot of Kias we have done do not have remote start. Apparently it is a $425 option on the Optima.
P&B Car Reviews I wish the place I bought it from told me that I would’ve totally paid for that could be very useful cuz this weather here
P&B Car Reviews good video tho keep it up

Trying to decide if i want this or the Honda Civic SI
You are a bit too rough with the car especially with the way you were opening the glove compartment.
