I remember when the min spec was once said to be a 1070 until they changed it to a 960, I wonder what both would be like performance wise on this game. 🤔
GTX 1060 is getting decent performance on 1080p medium, so 1070 would get significantly better. For 960, I haven't seen benchmarks but I guess the 2Gb version is struggling hard

I don't normally like blaming bad optimization if it is unclear as to why a game performs worse than expected or a bit more intensive than usual but the gpu usage was dropping regularly below 98% regardless of settings even if only by a few points and cpu usage was never very high, this is a clear indication of bad optimization.

G'day Kryzzp & Digimoon, Yeah I agree this game does look so much better than ForsBROKEN! While some of the Textures are a bit lacking the Shadows are Amazing, it will be interesting to see how Textures react with 12GB-16GB VRAM. Also when Harry is moving there is Fluidity rather than the Right foot down/Left foot down clunkiness of the Character in ForBROKEN! Ps it will be interesting to see how GPUs with 4GB-6GB VRAM like the RX570/580 & GTX1060 do in this one.
The ram usage seems to be rather erratic. Sometimes it’s using 10ish and other times it’s using more than 25gb. (In the same areas). I’m disappointed in the performance thus far. A lot of stuttering, extremely low dips in nearly single digit fps that require a restart to fix. Fps dips in the beginning of cutscenes with a lot of npc’s around. I’m confident patches will come out to resolve these eventually. But sadly it’s just another case of a poorly optimized pc title/port. Whether it’s a lack of testing or strict release date windows it still blows my mind studios release games in this kind of state. Though at the very least, it’s not as bad as some other titles we have seen in the past….

the issue is with people wanting games to use more of the cpu is it 1. the engine handles a lot of the multithreading but can be done by devs as well 2. the more threads you use for your game the more unstable it makes your operating system and also you have to handle locking the threads so windows doesn't take the thread the game uses vies versa because then it would cause the game to crash or different issues 3. you could run into an issue with diminishing returns because using multithreading each thread waits for another thread to finish as i have seen in a video on how it works compared to multiprocessing
I've been playing at 1440p dlss quality Ultra settings with a 3070 and 5600x and the stutter and random single digit frame rate when loading ateas or cutscenes with 2 crashes in 8 hours is annoying but it fixes itself quickly. Thinking about saving up for a 4070ti for vram and power as it's the cheapest upgrade and would perfectly make my experience for this game specifically nicer
@@davidjames3259 From what I've been told and from what I know, the 3070 beats the 6700xt in most games. There are some games that make it closer or make the 6700xt better. The 12gb of vram the 6700xt has makes it better off for games like Hogwarts Legacy where in Ultra settings the more vram is needed. In games like Forza Horizon 5 the 6700xt can beat the 3070 by a lot. When using RT the 3070 wipes the 6700xt though. The price difference is insane though. You can get a 6700xt for almost $200 cheaper than a 3070 rn. A 6800 xt which is closer to 3080 performance, for only $50 more than the cheapest 3070 when looking at PCPartPicker. A 3080 cost $300 more than that right now.

I have a completely different experience with the game. Running on a desktop with 3060 12 GB vram, an i5 10500 and 16GB memory I get 40-70 frames. on 1080p resolution always. And the weird part is that it doesn't matter what settings I choose. Whether it's ultra with rtx on or mid with RTX off and DLSS, still 40-70 fps. Even after restarting the game. I'm not sure what's going on but if you have any ideas feel free to share them with me. I'm on the newest nvidia drivers as well

its worth noting that this game doesn't care much about the GPU as it does the CPU. You need a hefty CPU for this game to run on high settings like that. I have the same GPU and my frames are halfed at the same settings.
hello, i love your videos and watch every one of them. i have a suggestion for you which i think would be great. what if you had 2 pcs, one with your 5800x3d and another with something like a 5600 and depending on the video card, you used the most fitting cpu. i know this is expensive and is probably not practical because the videos are to show the power of the gpu and it should not be limited at all by the cpu, but i really think a few people would appreciate it because for certain people, they will get a more accurate representation of their setup. keep making videos
The amount of GB's of video memory a card has is not an accurate measurement of how good a card will perform. A card with a larger memory bus can do more with 8GB's than a card with a smaller memory bus. So, just saying "You'll need more than 8gb's of video memory" is not really a sufficient claim. A 3070 with 8GBs does more with that 8GBs than a 3060 does with it's 12GB's. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
DO NOT TRUST THIS!!! I have 3060ti and i7 8700k and i can barely maintain 60 fps in this game with medium settings with DLSS. I do not know if its a problem on the game or epic games store or my pc or what not, but its totally unplayable for me.
that 58003d must be doing a lot of heavy lifting in Hogsmeade because I am running the same card paired with an i5-10400 and I get drops down to the 30s there though not frequently
I really don't know what to think about DLSS anymore. Lately it's starting to bother me a lot. It can enhance some details and degrade the rest and add ghosting.

@@zWORMzGaming what about 4070 ti?
men, you are the doppelganger of "toro tocho reviews". The spaniard tech reviewer.
Awesome video man, I'd love to see a video at some point where you show how to set up your On Screen Display. Like how to get the different colours for GPU, CPU and how to get the gaps between them and also the frametime graph, I really like the way it looks. Anyway, great video man, love the content!
I'm gonna do it at some point :)
@@zWORMzGaming Let's goooo, I'm hyped for that video!
Thanks this has definitely reassured me that it’s definitely my Ram at this point and not my VRAM and once the game’s optimized it’ll be even more enjoyable
No it won't optimize. This is Unreal engine. Ram is the only upgrades
can you do a 1440p video for the rtx 3060 ti in 2023?

You also have to remember than Drivers aren't all out and whatnot so the game isn't at full optimization atm for a lot of cards.
This video card is truly the best bang for buck out. Such a satisfying purchase.
This game looks great, I assume by the time full release comes out it would have a fullscreen mode. Seems a bit weird that its not there but it doesnt stop this game from looking stunning
@@cliffz9545 Sir did you.. did you watch the first 4 minutes of the video..
I don't normally like blaming bad optimization if it is unclear as to why a game performs worse than expected or a bit more intensive than usual but the gpu usage was dropping regularly below 98% regardless of settings even if only by a few points and cpu usage was never very high, this is a clear indication of bad optimization.
The Castle is very demanding. the game definitly needs a update
I am really interesting to see all your videos for this game and you recommended settings
I’m so glad this game isn’t broken/unoptimised as some may have been fearing, especially after the whole “Foresbroken” situation. Glad to hear no “Hogwarts LAGecy” from Kryzzps :)
It's pretty broken for me. I have 100fps with 55% GPU utilization in one scene, and 25fps with 100% utilization in another. Very strange performance.
This comment wont age well trust me....
Still 7gb vramusage on medium? It has already killed the rtx 3060 laptop lol

Hey Kryzzp! Could you test this game on the 4070ti? I've been looking at that gpu for some time now as an upgrade, literally just to play this game.
I will test the 4070ti yes :)
@@zWORMzGaming Thanks!
Was gonna buy this game but will wait for a few months or a year till I can upgrade my ram
I tried my 3070 today with the game with rtx on medium and everything high and experienced huge drops from 90 to 20 fps. I'm curious if you're going to have similar issues. I was on quality DLSS
I have 3060ti card & have the same issue with RT on... so i turn off RT
I got a 3060ti and installing the game as we speak ... but wanted to watch your vid first hehe. The 1030 vid was horrifying with those textures and Jack lol.
Can you try the game with an AMD GPU please ? Like 6600/XT/6700/XT/6800/XT or even 6900, I'm curious of how it runs on these gpus
I hate how fast GPUs can become obsolete. 3060 Ti isn't even 2 years old but will have trouble with AAA games already
of course it will, otherwise there would be no need to upgrade for people.
My brother just sold his less then one year old 3080 for 570€ and bought himself 4080 for 1100€
people are insane
I'm ok with my 3060ti strix and a770le for years to come. Not everyone needs to play the newest AAA titles at 4k. After all the game is the same shit anyway
Few years ago I used to use riva tuner to lock frametime, it worked better than fps cap built in games. Maybe it would fix the stuttering here?
Great video, hope you continue to test out this GPU!
Thanks for the awesome content 👏Do you have an RX 6700 XT, could you please test it as well?
Remember that the actual release date is on Feb 10th. Day 1 patch might fix so many issues.
G'day Kryzzp & Digimoon,
Yeah I agree this game does look so much better than ForsBROKEN!
Or some of the other titles we have seen in the present.
I think it also has issues on consoles so all around a bad port it seems.
@@speedforce8970 Honestly it seems okay to me, not many games run on 1050Ti or 960 these days.
I have almost everything same as your except RAM but I can't get the same FPS. But FPS always at 40-70 inside Hogwarts then in the open world around 60-70fps. My NVIDIA only utilise at 30% +- Any idea anyone can help me :') I have tried so many methods.
3060 ti and ryzen processor for me
the issue is with people wanting games to use more of the cpu is it
1. the engine handles a lot of the multithreading but can be done by devs as well
2. the more threads you use for your game the more unstable it makes your operating system and also you have to handle locking the threads so windows doesn't take the thread the game uses vies versa because then it would cause the game to crash or different issues
3. you could run into an issue with diminishing returns because using multithreading each thread waits for another thread to finish as i have seen in a video on how it works compared to multiprocessing
Can you do the rtx 3060 laptop next so I can see how my laptop will perform
Holy moly the RAM consumption
The game was built on unreal 4 so that may explain the stuttering.
its 4am in my country lol btw nice video as always
I've been playing at 1440p dlss quality Ultra settings with a 3070 and 5600x and the stutter and random single digit frame rate when loading ateas or cutscenes with 2 crashes in 8 hours is annoying but it fixes itself quickly. Thinking about saving up for a 4070ti for vram and power as it's the cheapest upgrade and would perfectly make my experience for this game specifically nicer
what do u think is better, 3070 or RX6700 XT ?
Our boy comes through again
many years ago a GTX460 was considered premium GPU for gaming and nowadays people worry about if a 60 series card can still run the game on high
not sure if i like what Nvidia has been doing
Thank you for your video! This helps a lot!
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching :)
Makes me love my Xbox series x even more now, performance is about on par with an rtx3060ti with this game. I have an rtx3060ti, but haven’t tried the game on that but now I know I don’t need to at all, and now I’ll just keep playing it on the Xbox
Love your uploads💯👌
Just bought the deluxe version. Got the same GPU but with 3900X. Going to play more at the weekend but going to have a quick go tonight :)
I'm on the newest nvidia drivers as well
same with me, its the cpu, I guess we need a 5800x3d =)
Probably CPU and RAM, this game seems to like a lot of RAM more than 16 GB at the very least and cache size on the CPU which 5800X3D has a ton of L3
@@ij6708 I see, thanks alot for the answers
This same happened with me in Spiderman
Is your RAM maxed out though?
The best gpu for price to performance accross ALL resolutions

OC cpu to 4.2MHz and GPU to 2050MHz and it plays on high like a dream. With 3060ti on 1440p
CPU at 4.2MHz will not even start computer.
26:07 that cape looked weird though.
🤣🤣🤣 I was already tired at the end of it, didn't even notice ahahah
its worth noting that this game doesn't care much about the GPU as it does the CPU. You need a hefty CPU for this game to run on high settings like that. I have the same GPU and my frames are halfed at the same settings.
The goat with a goated video
I thought this would be like forsbroken im surprised, great job bro.
hello, i love your videos and watch every one of them. i have a suggestion for you which i think would be great.
what if you had 2 pcs, one with your 5800x3d and another with something like a 5600 and depending on the video card, you used the most fitting cpu.
i know this is expensive and is probably not practical because the videos are to show the power of the gpu and it should not be limited at all by the cpu, but i really think a few people would appreciate it because for certain people, they will get a more accurate representation of their setup.
keep making videos
It's a CPU bottleneck
@@zWORMzGaming My CPU never goes over 65% usage. I have tested it with the same MSI program ur apperantly using as well.
This was a "magical" benchmarking experience with "krizzp" Frame rates.
that 58003d must be doing a lot of heavy lifting in Hogsmeade because I am running the same card paired with an i5-10400 and I get drops down to the 30s there though not frequently
i have a ASUS STRIX 3060ti OC edition and its a beast of a card, never gets hotter than 60 c thanks to its massive overengineered cooler.
Not sure its a VRAM issue. Since stutters like that have been reported on the console versions as well as higher end GPU's.
Damn... I'm about to test the 4080 now to confirm this.
@@zWORMzGaming looking at posts on reddit it seems all over the place. One guy even claimed to get 120fps locked on a 3080. Not sure i believe that.

Modern day gaming problems 🙃
GPUs are too expensive...
my refurbished 3060 ti for $429 cad seemed too good to be true. paid $100 more for my 1070 back in 2017 and it slaughters that card
Pretty solid port. The developers took more care with this PC version than most AAA ports it's incredible.
You're tripping balls, there's no way this dude is maintaining these percentages. My 3080 not one time has hit 99% in this game. Rdr2 has my GPU at 99
Nice Video, love the rtx 3060 Ti
Best bang per buck card. Good to see it plays 1440p DLS High easily for a modern AAA
With a 6750 xt on 1440 Ultra with FSR 2.0 enabled, I'm getting around 150 fps in the castle and 90-100 fps outside.
Kryzzp can you benchmark with AMD GPU as a comparison to the NVIDIA one? thank you
1440p medium settings with best AA and no DLSS averages in 80 fps? Pretty good. My good old rtx2080 can do this!
hello plsss reply
should I buy 3060ti 8gb or 3060 12gb
will there will be any difference having more vram on upcoming games in the future
4:19 I think its the Tesseract infinity cube thing from avengers endgame.
can you test the 1080 ti? would appreciate it!
Definitely :)
I am happy I went with 32GB of ram rather than 16GB. Games now are using more than 16GB, imagine in a few years it will be nearer to 32GB.
32 GB is nice but its definitely not needed for a long time. Shame people are getting fooled into thinking otherwise.
Doing an upgrade right now 😊 Going to go with a 4080 / i9-13900k / DDR5 6400mhz / and MOBO recommendations???
I really don't know what to think about DLSS anymore. Lately it's starting to bother me a lot. It can enhance some details and degrade the rest and add ghosting.
Nice test... It looks like the specs they released for 1440p 60fps on ultra on RTX 2080 Ti were soon on... Next time maybe show some more intense combat with effects like the one at the beginning in the vault, that'll test the usage just right :D
one of the most intensive spots in the game that i have experienced is within Hogwarts. theres a hallway with some windows and it absolutely tanks for some reason. I can play on ultra ray tracing on and be fine until i hit that specific hall for some reason. I have a 6700xt. that would be a good place to test honestly lol
I knw9 a worse location go to the top of the owl building outside of the school
