- Hello :)
in this video we show you how we sound deadened and insulated our van. There are many different ways to insulate a van and a lot of people say Alubutyl is unnecessary if you use Armaflex... But we had such great results in our old van with this combination and that's why we go with this setup again 👌
Feel free to ask us any question in the comment section!!
Cheers

We used Armaflex XG in 19mm, 9mm and Armaflex tape:
- Sure you can find it on Amazon, but we found it way cheaper at our local dealer in Hamburg (TDH Dämmstoffhandel in Billstraße 226, 20539 Hamburg*) #supportlocal

It,s very nice ! Good jobs
Continue like this ! I want others videos 😍
Today finally is Armaflex day with my Sprinter, so had a little recap of your experiences and tips :)
Have fun!
Hi, thanks for the video! What did you do to cover all the sheet metal that's left seen after putting all the armaflex panels?
hi! you guys did a super job on your van! I've a question regarding Armaflex.. it's smelling with warm / hot temperature? I'm thinking to use armaflex ACE for my vwt4.. but i'm not sure about the chemical smell..
thanks!!
Sorry for the late response! We don't smell anything 😜
Hi guys, looks like a great job!
But I noticed that you do the floor insulation a bit different than what I've seen in similar 'floor-insulation-instruction' video's.
What I've seen a lot is that they glue a wooden frame to the metal bottom plate first and then but bands of armaflex in between the wood. When the floor goes on top of this frame, it does not compress armaflex and thus it keeps it full insulation value.
Now, to be honest, I want to insulate my van like you guys did, WITHOUT the wooden frame, but I am a bit worried that this might result in a bottom plate that slightly moves each time I put weight on it, since it might compres the armaflex each time and when I remove the pressure it probably bounces back up a bit (slightly).
Can you please let me know if this is the case?
Thanks! ;)
Hi Jürgen,
that is absolutely true, in the first place we also didn't build a wooden Fram but after we put the baseplate back in the van it felt super strange to walk on the floor. So we took out the plate again and built a wooden frame. You can find more information on our IG account!
Cheers andes
Definitely build frame. Insulation properties greatly suffer, if stepped on.
Hi guys 🙂,
where did you use the armaflex 9mm?
And why not 19mm everywhere? 🙂
Hi man, we used 19mm almost everywhere but in the back we used 9mm on some parts. Thus we have the maximum width of the van in the back as we sleep sideways. Check our bed build video maybe that helps to understand our decision 🤗🤙
How did you attach the beams to the metal?
Sikaflex 💪
hey how much armaflex did you have to buy to insulate the whole van?
Hey, around 36m2 👌
Hello how much meters of alubutyle did you use ?
Thanks
Hey 👋
Two full rolls if I remember it correctly. 👍
so now its been nearly a year since this video was it worth all that money on Armaflex?
Yes it was!
@@aboutandes thanks for replying. Have you been in hot climates like south of Spain?
@@TheHumanSoundSystem we have been to several places over 30°C as well as spots wit 0°C or lower and we really liked how the armaflex performed 🙂
Do not even attempt to film your van conversion project unless you a hot young couple!!!
