  • I spent one week travelling round Patagonia in both the Argentina and Chile side.
Flying into Buenos Aires, and then down to El Calafate, we drove across the border to Torres del Paine National Park.
We had 4 days in Torres del Paine, doing some sections of the W trek as well as a few other activites in the area including riding the catamaran on Lago Grey and going puma tracking.
Returning to El Calafate we then visited the spectacular Perito Moreno glacier.

Chilean Patagonia is greener and is not just Torres del Dolor, it has the Southern Highway area, several national parks, it has the oldest tree in the world, it has the Araucanía Pucon area, Conguillio and Nahuelbuta Park, etc. and the glacier largest in South America in the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park, the Pio of ovens and diego ramírez

You have a truly amazing talent of making random people like me feel like I’ve been on every trip with you. I started watching your videos around the time of the China, Tibet and Nepal Everest trip and I almost feel emotional seeing yourself and James on your way to Antarctica. It feels like the climax of a 10 year journey we’ve been on together. Kudos to you Karl, you’re a special film maker. Cheers 🍻

Brilliant episode, great way to spend my Saturday evening! My Patagonia trip still is in my top 3 trips, spend three weeks exploring Bariloche, El Calefate, El Chalten, Ushuia, Puerto Williams and Puerto Natales. Missed most of Torres del Paine due to floods. Spend 4 ways waiting for the park to reopen and managed to do only one day of hiking on my last day. The Torres part was still closed, but managed to see Los Cuernos, and had similar views you had from the campsite (which was amazing imo). Can’t wait for the Antartica episodes! ❤

Brilliant video Karl. it brought back great memories of traveling in Patagonia for me. I felt the same awe again as when i witnessed the mountains, glaciers and lakes in person . If you ever get the chance to go back to Patagoniai would recommend going to El Chalten, it's as stunning as Toress Del Paine. Argentina is such a great and varied country, i also loved Bariloche, and Mendoza. The food is amazing and the people are so friendly. Very jealous but it's making me want to go back so thanks!

Love the eye roll at the landing applause. One of the things that makes me cringe. I was on a KLM flight from Costa Rica 2 years ago that developed a serious problem and we had to make an emergency landing in Panama City (fire engines following down the runway and airport closed down) all very serious and dramatic. My biggest concern tho was there might be applause when landed, fortunately there wasnt!

Wish I would have known about the back before you left...
Had back issues my entire life
Lower back first aid from my chiropractor (osteopaths suck to be completely honest, saw 2, useless...1 chiropractor, and I barely even feel it now)
This isn't about actually stretching, it's about relaxing.
    Lie flat on your back
Bend 1 knee and move it as high as you can towards the shoulder on the same side (without stretching too much or hurting yourself)
Hold it for 5 seconds whilst relaxing muscles (I try to imagine relaxing enough so I could sink through the floor)
Do this 3 times....each time you will probably notice that your knee can comfortably go higher everytime
Then same knee, aim it at the opposite shoulder.....not the elbow, or neck.....the opposite shoulder
Same again...3 times, 5 seconds of trying to melt through the floor.. DO NOT STRETCH...it's not about stretching to release muscles... its about putting the body in places and relaxing which reminds your muscles where they want to be.
    Swap legs.
I can go from being so locked up that I can't do a sitting up like a normal person in minutes.
Store this for the next trip old man

WOW! I love to travel but I’m past the age to do all the hiking. Through your video I am able to see places I’ve thought of but never made it.
I see you’re moving to Winnipeg. We were there last November to start a fantastic trip up to Churchill to see polar bears. It was beyond my expectations.

    Saludos!!!

Once again Karl your editing and storylines are great, It is always a pleasure to watch groups bond together and enjoy the tasks and events of a trip, Combined with good photography and the presence of at least one old friend in James, I look forward to the next episode.
PS I asked the wife if I could go if you do another trip like this but I am not sure how I would manage her in a wheelchair and her being almost blind,, On second thought can you arrange for guide dogs?
Thank you for your diligence and effort,.
