This is because in Dead and Buried, it’s implied Tails kills Starved, and this song adds onto the fact it’s a bittersweet victory.

Well, this Cover is connected to a different Cover Ghost already made called "Solo Survivor", which is Monochrome but Tails, Furnace, and Starved sing it, a cover in which Tails does actually come out on top in the end. Deceased Hero was supposed to take place before the events of that Cover, however, it taking place after Solo Survivor isn't a bad idea either tbh.
