Access to the Italian citizenship became more complicated when Salvini came to power with his new law. I agree with everything you said, it is sad but true 😥
Very insightful Hilda glad you shared this, I love to always take in the positives and work through the negatives. Sounds like you are doing perfectly fine!
The fact you don't get italian citizenship by having born in Italy iis not about racism, but because of the fact there's not a Ius Soli institution law. There are some issues with the Ius Soli, and it's still debated among the people and the politicians, because in Italy you can have the citizenship if one of your relatives have it, so imagine this scenario: A random woman from a random country is having a baby and comes to Italy for one day to have her baby here. Her baby get the citizenship and she can have it too, as well as all of her relatives. Since Italy is not the US, where the only illegal immigrants can arrive from the mexican border, having people who could get access to the citizenship so easily might be a problem. Anyway, actually everyone under 18 years old have the same privileges of any other italians, even strangers not born in Italy, because of the laws for the protection of minors. You get your free access to the public health care, public school, etc... and cannot vote, as well as an Italian minor. And when you are 18 you can choose if you want the citizenship or not. So basically you can perfectly live a normal life as an Italian if you have born in Italy from a foreign family,
Thanks for sharing your experiences Hilda. I have been "lucky" I believe when it comes to the work space and not felt excluded but I'll add that it is true that a person of colour kind of has to prove themselves more like to prove you're good enough and you know what you're doing while the Italians just sit back and relax.
I’m a black British woman who’s been to Italy 4 times from north to southern regions. Know the language for a long time. The racial profiling is real though as a tourist I have never experienced racism
Southern Italians are so friendly , I stay in the south. Everything you said about them not leaving is true and being a momma boys. An Italian told me he will choose his family over marrying a black girl.😂😂
@Callmehildaglosh no one wanted to sit with me but they preferred to stand . In the south the elderly ones are used to doing that. I didn't go to church for awhile. But later I go once in a while and online church from my country.
Hello, as mentioned in this video, they are not obvious to find but can be found in some shops especially in Milan Centrale. I mentioned my hairdresser’s name (business name) in the video. I hope that helps
Please it's very common are popular for the Italian men on dating sites. And again the people from the North are more friendly unlike people from the south. And that is my experience.
Of course black Italians can get the benefits... if they have the citizenship which they can acquire as soon as they turn 18. Up to then they get the benefits as minors. The only problem is when they want to go to a different country, since they have a different nationality and they have to check the rules which apply to their nationality.
As long Italians are free to go all over the world creating businesses, studying, marrying, so are other people that want to live in Italy and do whatever they want in Italy

1. Are your references for living in Milano?
2. Is there a Black community supporting each other in Italy?
1. My references are for living in Milano.
2. Not one but many that you can plug into

My father is from Italy. Italians want Italy for Italians , or people who have Italian decent.
As long Italians are free to go all over the world creating businesses, studying, marrying, so are other people that want to live in Italy and do whatever they want in Italy
@@CallmehildagloshNobody said you "can't" , but I have family there , and talked to many Italians , they don't want tons of foreigners
Thanks 🥰
Hi
You’re not a Black “girl”. You’re an adult woman.
