Absolutely heartwarming, I sleep better at night knowing you are looking after these precious animals at BOS. I am friends with the Vervet monkeys who visit me in South Africa, my home. The troop has been visiting since I moved here in 2003. 💟💝🥰
Orangutans never cease to amaze me. I sincerely hope for a cease in all the destructive activities being implemented in Indonesia that is pushing them out of their habitat and orphaning many in the process as I'm sure many people are aware of this, yet continue to take part in the process. There has to be another way to balance between the culprits and the victim to atleast reduce the harm and still allow farmers to harvest and sell their products. Who knows. We all seem to learn the hard way after the harm is irreparable.
This one made me sad as why has it been a LONG TIME since she has got to climb a tree for these ones who previously had been in Jungle school. That means they had them caged after that for a long time.
They have so many orangutans and only so many pre-release islands. It is also challenging finding them the space to release them into the wild. I don't think anyone wants to orangutans in cages so long after they graduate jungle school. I think it is an unfortunate reality with so many orangutans and the slow process to return them to the wild. :(
Animals, especially intelligent ones are instinctual - for them to forget to climb is for us to forget how to walk. Not sure what they were worried about
yeah but we had to be taught to walk, and the whole point of the jungle school thing is that they are all orphans and didnt have mothers to teach them how to climb, so they had to be taught by the humans working at the jungle school
@@doorknob3937 we didn’t really get taught to walk. We do it because we’re biologically and mentally bi-pedal and impressionable. As soon as they can, babies start attempting to crawl, climb with the end goal being to get up on two feet, they want to get up to look around, touch things because it’s logically how to get what they around to what they want. Same with orangutang and climbing..
There's no enough pre-release island for the graduates. Also, the wild release takes too slow because there's no more protected forest available, they had to buy a whole area of forest for these orangutans. If they don't do it, it will be taken by plantations. They know the problem; hence, they are reforesting now an area called Mawas to become another habitat.
I would be terrified to swim in that river! I will never swim in our American rivers and they are far less deadly! Just watch one episode of river monsters!
All who goes to school are orphaned orangutans. They lost their mothers and therefore they have nowhere to learn survival skills. Thus they go to school to learn skills from caregivers.
It is so strange how one group of apes takes care of these other apes. And that same group of apes also destroys the other ape's habitat. The hairless apes stumbled upon an evolutionary advantage that gave them the potential to eventually understand quantum mechanics. The hairy apes don't understand why the hairless ones cage them and give them delicious bananas. It is a strange world we live in.
Cynthia Baker I don’t think u two have watched the series. Watch it and you’ll realize. All of these animals were orphans who were taught different lessons on survival and then once passed would be allowed back in the wild
I was asking the same thing, but none of these comments answered it. I know that they're already graduated from jungle school, but what happened between 5 years since their graduation?? Why were they confined and not allowed to climb any trees? I thought after graduation, they are allowed to free roam along with the lower classmen in the jungle school (but without strict supervision from the babysitter) and back home to the cage in the evening. I hope someone from BOS can asnwer this.
@@lostinhorizon8341 these are speculations, but I think there are several reasons for that to happen 1. They need to make sure there's room for 2 more orangutans (they need to make sure the vegetation is able to provide them enough food and nests, bcs the teknisi only come once in a few days, also they need to make sure that all the orang utans they'll meet is healthy and so do not create a disaster) 2. They probably need some time for orangutan to be detached from their caregivers and other humans, so that they wouldn't be too friendly to humans later on 3. I think they don't spend all the 5 years in cage, but it might be true that in a week, they probably spend more time in cage than in the forest The prerelease island is not big sadly, I once heard in the news that they are overwhelmed by the amount of orangutans that came. It was more than the sanctuary could handle and yes it is unfortunate.
Orangutan warriors, you are really doing a commendable job.. God bless you. Love from India.
I love how the one opens her cage.

They've turned the comments off on their exploitative clickbait videos, but left the videos up. Lovely.

Why were they caged for 5 years after jungle school?
there's a full season video you need to watch for the answer, but you got to pay, consider it as charity because what you pay is go to the foundation
