I don't know how many times I've seen this movie, but BingBong's 'death' always gets me

Very nice reaction, thank you. I’ve watched a bunch of reactions to Inside Out and you blew away everyone else for figuring out Joy’s toxic positivity. I’m very impressed.
I’m a 50 year old guy and the two points where I always bawl are when Bingbong sacrifices himself and when Reilly gets home after running away and her dad reassures her that they’re not angry and she exhales and leans into Mom’s shoulder.

I had to be my mom's emotional parent for most of my life - 11 to 31. I wasn't allowed to cry, I had to be strong for my mom and her tears. She struggled with depression (probably more likely undiagnosed bipolar and BPD, but ya know, boomers), so she was crying or reacting emotionally most of the time. I didn't even tell her when I experienced sexual trauma at 13 because I didn't want to upset her or the family. Even when I saw her a couple months before her death, she still shut me down when I started to cry. "We don't get to cry", she said.
I didn't even process how angry I was at her until after she died. And the first time I saw this movie was in an inpatient trauma program while she was dying.

@@lilyth682 That's an incredibly thoughtful comment, thank you. I'm doing what I can, though it's slow going. (Your English was perfect ❤️)

I cried so much when my dad was diagnosed. I only had four months. But I cry over everything in general, anyway. I can’t hold it back. The rest of my family is the opposite.
I have actually never seen even my MOM cry. It’s really hard when you have such different emotional reactions from your family.

Inside Out is tied with Wall E as my favorite Pixar movie.
