Show 2000 was always going to be at Rock City - as one of the largest independent venues left in the UK, it’s a place I’ve long considered home turf. No one much cared about show 1000 - apart from me! - but by time we got up to 2000, everyone was on board with the fact that I count my shows. I got a tattoo of “2000” immediately after the show. The support acts! The Tailors - one of my all-time favourite bands, a huge influence on me at the start of my solo career. I got them to reform for the show and actually played guitar in the band as well. And then it was always going to be Beans On Toast - Jay is another big part of why I started playing acoustic guitar, probably my longest-serving tour buddy, and a great friend. We got him to crowd surf during If Ever I Stray - one of the highlights of the show. I wrote “If Ever I Stray” in its entirety in about 20 minutes, during a soundcheck in Florida in 2010, when we were opening for Social Distortion.
Saw your friend The Wildhearts there for their 30th anniversary show a few weeks ago, just after we’d seen you in Manchester, followed that up with a Ryan Hamilton & the Harlequin Ghosts gig and then rounded it off with Tony Wright & Milly in York just before Christmas. A glorious trip around t’north of England for gigs. Loving the 2000 album, captured what your gigs are all about 😀🤘 PS took an FT virgin to your gig at M/c Opera House and he’s now right onboard with your stuff, he loved it! 😀
What great fun! Have seen you twice live now, first time at Looe Festival 7 years ago and 2 weeks ago at The Big Sheep 🐑 You are a top bloke and myself and my husband love your music and our 11 & 6 year old girls do too 🥰 Keep singing, keep writing Frank because you truly do have a gift.xxxx.💜🤘🏻🙌🏻🔥
I took my oldest daughter to your show at the Wilma in Missoula(Canadians in the front), I'm taking my youngest to Shamrock Rebellion... see you in Vegas. You totally rock.
Awesome moment from two great artists! Looked to be a blast! My wife and I caught two of your shows at The Blue Note in Columbia and twice in Chicago, and each time was so amazing! Love your stuff, and we wish you a safe and prosperous 2022! Cheers.
I was the lucky guy that got the whiskey at show 1996 rock city! 😍 Frank you are a legend..

Frank Turner was at that show and still have the poster on my wall framed, alongside Edinburgh, Cardiff and Manchester 🤘🏻🎼

Now is the best timeline. Forget the past, fuck the future, I'm glad to be here now.
Haven't heard this masterpiece in a while...
Still love it!
Haha, he made his nephews do this at his 1997th show in the LCR in UEA, Norwich.
I WAS THERE AND IT WAS BRILLIANT!! 🤘🏻
It isn't every band that could trust their fans to do this safely, you're all amazing!
That is the best thing I've seen on the internet in a long time.

Life affirming.
This is amazing! This is also the song that introduced me to frank turner about 7 years ago.
This is a man who truly loves performing
Gads I hope you release this show as a digital purchase sometime in the future - I don't even have a dvd player anymore! 😩
Love this song! Love this video - two of my faves in one brilliant video bringing me smiles after work on a Wednesday night! Nice one guys 😎🤘😍😁 xxx
It's good to hear this song again :)
Goddamn legendary and joyful moment
Awesome!
Amazing
Me and my buddy love this but what beans on toast was the sleeping souls low key playing before Jay's crowd surf?
Is there any way to watch the full dvd online? I'm from Argentina and also the dvd seems to be out of stock, so I don't have any way to get it :(
