  • itsgardeningtime.com It's late Summer in the Mid-Atlantic area of the U.S.A., Zone 7A, and we are wondering why our Marigolds haven't bloomed yet! We have been growing Marigolds from seed for years, so we are perplexed. We have just 7 weeks left in the growing season before the first frost. We sure would like to see them bloom. We have been using natural fertilizers of coffee grounds and Super Juice that we learned about from Ms Linda ‪@TNOG511‬ which has worked with all of our other plants. Help! Any ideas or suggestions from fellow gardeners??? To learn more about our successful experience growing Marigolds from seed please visit itsgardeningtime.com/?p=5324

They take awhile to bloom so just be patient! It's worth the wait! Are they Ferry-Morse marigolds?

I planted the same brand seeds back in February in seed trays. They grew about 1-1/2 inches by May and I planted them all over around my house. They grew quite large, about 2-1/2 to 3 feet tall! It took some time before they bloomed. Like one at a time popping out. I’m going to say that was happening around July. Then all of a sudden I had a lot of beautiful blooms and they grew together like bushes. I fertilized with espoma plant tone when I planted them then sprinkled the plant tone around them like once a month. Maybe if you put some plant tone or flower tone by espoma around them it will help boost them faster. But be patient, mine looked like that for a long time. I’m sure you will have flowers before the season is over. They will be the perfect color for fall!

Thank you so much for your help! I have been trying to use natural fertilizers but I will try a little Espoma plant tone too. You've been very helpful!

Unfortunately it takes months from them to bloom. How long has it been? Is it still warm in your area, 70 degrees or higher?
