We just bought ours today and put it together pretty quick. We have 6 acres, but manage about 1.5 -2 in garden beds, around outbuildings, and tree circles along our boundary lines. Our grass grows the minute we turn our backs, so this tool will get a workout. It’s a bit heavy, but I’ll credit that as exercise 😂. Thanks for your review - we had a Worx trimmer and loved it for 4 years before it just won’t start up now. We hope this will be a successful upgrade.
Took over an hour to do the handle before I thought “let me look on RUclips” and here you go saving my life😂 why this took me 3 hours idk I’m just a girl💀💀
I struggled with the handle too. After reading some of the comments I don’t feel like a complete moron. 😂 I’m still trying to tighten the handle so it doesn’t slip. Thanks a million for the tutorial! It helped me immensely as I am new to weed trimming.
You hit all the notes on this weed eater. Your yard is very long and requires a lot of edging, and this tool may do the job if you keep up with cutting down weekly, as you said.
I did my acre yard & I really like it a lot. How easily you can turn it off & on. I just used the low speed & it did great. Note: assembling the handle was a tough one for me. Thanks for this video. 👍
Thanks for the video. Can you tell us how long the line lasts and how often you have to tap it? How hard to you have to tap? Seems like a bit of a design flaw to have to tap a plastic head constantly. Is there a way to pull the string out and "re-feed it" if I mess up like you did and didn't get each side the same length before hitting the button? Finally, I read a review on Lowe's website that the orange line cord kept breaking and the guy recommended using the black and green line because it's much tougher to break. Any issues with the orange line breaking on you?
Thanks buddy. Just bought one and didn’t feel like trying to sort through the manual to figure out how to set it up so I set mine up by following your instructions as you set yours up in the video. 👍
Thank you so much for this video. I couldn’t make heads or tails on the handle for one thing and it was very hard to unscrew the screw, thanks to you I was able to assemble it. Haven’t used it yet, but my battery came fully charged. 😉
Thanks (also, cool first name) for making this video. much easier to understand all the settings seeing it like this in the video. luckily, i have a much smaller yard so i'm excited to try this out. thanks again.
Taking mine back to Lowe’s… after charging the battery all night this thing won’t spin😂. Thanks for sharing. I did everything that you did and read the manual
Thanks for the great assembly and use demo! I'm still pondering whether I'll actually purchase this particular model, but now seeing your demo, I'm leaning more towards getting this one.
Thank you! 🙏 I was looking to put the Handle on and was confused even with the instructions. I was like, no way is this snapping on there and ol’ and behold, your video showed me it could. Saved me some time and frustration lol
Very annoyed at Kobalt. I bought the 80 Volt trimmer and have had it about 4 years. The bump head needs replaced, and they no longer make them. The Universal ones don’t work either. First time purchasing EGO. I love the auto feed technology. That is a game changer!
I used this trimmer for the first time today. I found that the trigger is set too far back, so that I'm reaching behind me to hold the trigger. This caused quite a bit of shoulder pain. I like the trigger to be about at my hip, not behind me. I used a shoulder strap but when the trimmer felt balanced front and rear, that's what caused the trigger to shift too far back. I believe I got the right adjustment for the shaft length. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Don't understand why it has a knuckle in the middle of the shaft and it gets locked in place with a capscrew with Loctite on it. Would have thought they would supply a knob like they do on the handle so you could undo it easily and fold the shaft in half for storage. Good overview of the unit as I am in the market to move to a battery trimmer at the moment.
Thank You......We are thinking about getting one......Our Yard is about your size.... (2 Lots) ...We have the EGO Blower & the Self-Propelled Mower...If you ever decide to get the Lawn Tractor, please do a Demo on it.... We think want that Mower....We are replacing all our Earthwise Yard Tools!
Just tried a new Ego 15" ST1511T. A new, fully charged 2.5 battery lasted about 10 minutes in high setting doing light duty work. Also the Ego .095 string seemed far less durable than the .080 string I was using previously. After a bump it would go to 15" and almost immediately drop to 2-3" on each side. Is Ego string known to be pretty poor?
Any update on this product? After using it more, does it still work good? We have issues with every string Trimmer, the bumbing part not working anymore. At the $220 price point want to make sure that isn't a issue. Thank you
I ended up returning it. The battery wouldn't charge and it was showing as over heating. I think it's solid for a yard that isn't too huge and doesn't require a ton of weed eating.
Thanks for the assembly demo I was stuck on the handle too
Thank you!! The instructions were not clear that you had to use force to install the handle. I appreciate the video!

Same here. couldn't push the thing on so came to youtube, and wa-la snapped right on - thank you @stephenfixesthings
Me too took me an extra few minutes to figure it out. Love the trimmer and it's performance
There are several comments about installing the handle so you're not alone. I think everyone just let it dangle loosely until watching this video
Bro, seriously lmao😅
I can’t even unscrew the parts from the handle they are so tight!!

Just purchased this trimmer and thr 715cfm blower and I'm very impressed with both pieces of equipment. Just gave my old gas trimmer to my neighbor
Thanks so much for this video! I came specifically for the handle assembly and I was not disappointed
Same! Glad it worked for you too

Thank you for making this. All the older videos have the older model handle. 👍
great demonstration! how short will it go? when you slid the handle down ?

I think a solution like that would have very negative effects on vibration. You need a very secure lock to reduce that possibility
Great video! Thanks!

Can ego's 5mah battery be used in place of the 2.5mah battery?
Yes but it won't improve the performance at all
Stuck with handle.. Thanks for the explanation. It was wonderful. Ego needs to do a better job with handle.
thank you your video is very easy to follow..

Thank you, I bought this yesterday at Lowe's and the handle had me stumped 😅
Good honest review.
What’s the difference between this one and the ego ph1400?
The PH is a multitool and accepts different heads like trimming, edging, hedge trimmer, etc.
@user-gt7xz8lh4d why
That handle is not popping on. Im pretty good at follow directions and not giving up. I just gave up
Excellent review! New sub here!
Why are there 3 houses on this property?
Could you please tell me what the amp hour rating to the weedeater battery is?
2.5 ah
@@paklaselt2198 I use 4 amp hour batteries in my Ego werdeater.

Every lithium rechargable battery will do that if it's dead and hot from use. Letting it cool off a few minutes cure that issue .
@StephenFixesThings
How long does a full battery last?
30 minutes or so. Maybe a little more if you run it on the slow speed.
can you use a thicker string than 095
I’m not sure off hand, but I know they recommend 095 so there’s probably a chance you run into some issues using a thicker size.
Thank you.
Thanks man
I found this ego weed wacker from Mega Market Direct for $87 battery and charger, how can this be everywhere else it’s like $300
Its not
It's probably hot.
Jus bought one
Is this bump and run?
06:01 thank you so much for that. I couldn't understand even after reading the manual on how to use that during assembly.
Great video! Thanks!
