- This program focuses on the skills and techniques needed for vaccine administration. It can be used for training and orientation, as well as a refresher for more experienced staff. Produced by the CA Department of Public Health Immunization Branch, 2010
I recently heard from my organizations safety coach about a pediatric nurse who didn't catch that the vial she drew the vaccine from was a "muliti dose," vial & she administered 5 ml of Polio vaccine! 1st of all you should NEVER come across the need for 5 ml of any vaccine dosage & when compared the multi dose vial was actually smaller than the single dose one so always check that label! The child recovered, but not before vomiting & having to be admitted for observation. No one's perfect & it was a teachable moment moving forward. Do not be fooled by the size of the vial... 0.5 ml & 5.0 ml are definitely NOT the same thing.
my question is that those vaccine have formaldehyde thank you
What about changing the needle after withdrawing the vaccine?
One-time use needles don't give you that option. The needle can't be removed from the syringe.
good review
Uhm excuse me... WHY ARENT THEY WEARING GLOVES
Gloves are not legally required. Only thing required is that the hands are washed before and after giving a vaccination
It is no longer required to use of gloves. It's considered a waste of resources and risk of coming into contact with blood is minimal.
You don't wear gloves when vaccinating.
no recap plez
Unfortunately, the nurse fingernail is unhygienic as infection will accumulate in the nails
No nurse should wear nail polish or daje nails this is dangerous to pt. And nurse. Bail polidmsh is toxic.

@@rbisme113 i know its been a year! of all the things you could have contributed you wasted a good moment on a crap comment..
Iam never see nasal medicine for vaccine
Since when was Miley Cyrus an MA??? 😂
Haha that needle recap is not best practice the way she demonstrated it. Good video though!
Needles are recapped because it's a safety device. So it won't puncture into anyone. Then, they go into a sharp container.
@@amybaron8285 yeah, but recapping in your hand is not the best practice. Sliding the needle partially into the cap sitting on a surface is safer. That’s what I meant.
@@VKA00376in all honesty, regardless of all guidelines, you will develop a method that works for you in the specific circumstance and you will eventually remember the specifics of other methods. It all takes time. Most if the time you will start with drs with tons of experience and can work with what you give them. Then, if they are a decent doc, they will commend what you did and let you know any specific needs for the future.
Where is her gloves
Listen to the seminar, gloves are NOT required in routine settings.
WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH WHERE ARE THE GLoves
Always wear gloves m, universal precautions, better safe than sorry. When did gloves become optionsl?
optional?
@@lotisnasayao2150 is this a proper English class or how to administer a vaccine class.
Why do you not worry about it if they spit almost all of it out?
Because oral vaccines for infants are specifically made to have enough of the vaccine in it to be considered a fully administered dosage, because they'll likely spit it out, or it will leak out. It's not considered an overdose or anything if they manage to drink and ingest the entire container, nor is it an under-dosage or missed administration if "too little" goes in, because there's not really a thing as too little in this case.
My baby 2 month 14 days B4 given him .opv,iPad,pdv, vaccine now one leg swelling,my baby crying for pain ,what can I do
Never vaccinate him again.
Give your baby pain medicine and take him to see a doctor and absolutely continue to get him vaccinated

Child abuse. Read the insert. Child's body, child's choice. Let them make an informed decision when they're adults.
I don't think vaccine dose boxes come with an insert stating "child abuse" lmao
Yeah, if they grow to adulthood if the diseases these vaccines are protecting them don’t fucking kill them, dumb bitch!
is it child abuse to make your kid go to school too?
😒😒😒
Focus on this, put a list of cacine ingredients for them to focus on.
Cacine is a city on the eastern coast of Africa. What in the world are you trying to say?

you should be extremely embarrassed by your low intelligence ❤️
Preventing potentially deadly diseases for not only the child but all the other people they will come into contact with is achieved through vaccination. I can't believe people do not understand this. Childhood death used to be far more commonplace before medical advancements.
