These reasons are too long a stretch. A simpler and better explanation is that a small number of troops had mounts for highly specific purposes (like crowd control in the cities and towns) and since the empire was making a large effort to find the droids they just called all available troops to help in the effort. Not convoluted, more believable. Anyways, great video. 😊
Okay, you're in a hurry to get the information, so you take the time to train Stormtroopers to ride dewbacks? How did you get the Dewbacks? Okay, maybe there are places to get trained dewbacks already, but it seems ridiculous. It seems easier to purchase or confiscate local speeders to accelerate the search or maybe in combination with Imperial vehicles. Remember this is sensitive information and losing equipment might be an afterthought to actually getting the information. The Empire is trying to keep a low-profile with a Star Destroyer in orbit and checkpoints littered throughout the spaceports?
