Seems someone was out if tune😂 Actually I had vocal chord polyps back then that continue to make me sound like a 3 pack a day smoker, but I’ve learned to pick my tunes that I can cover. I like how you dont get lost when you belt it out.
jim Fitzgerald Thank you very much Jim! I’m sorry you have had to deal with polyps! I had some nerve issues for 6 months after my thyroid surgery and that was horrible, I can’t imagine dealing with polyps for 55 years. It’s great that you are still able to sing!
Not sure. The next morning i could talk with no problem so I thought I was out of the woods, but then when I tried to sing, I couldn’t hit any note higher than my speaking tone, so I had to sing everything like a bad Johnny cash impersonator. I would just hit a certain note and not be able to get higher at all. Then one day 6 months later I could sing again. Very weird.
guitartil18 yep. You get residual swelling and scar tissue that is eventually reabsorbed by the body. Compressing that nerve can really cause a lot of damage, similar to a stroke. You dodged a bullet there my friend.

Fantastic arrangement! So tough to capture such a fantastic and dynamic song on one guitar without any loops or anything else. Basically, whenever I can, I try to find the bass note from the rhythm chord, and I try to play it “under” whatever lead part I’m playing. I just recorded Stairway to Heaven and tried to do the same under the solo (though I got lost and left out a whole phrase 😁). It’s on my channel from last week if you are interested! I’ve arranged a billion songs this way over the last few years, but if you like 90s grunge, hopefully you’ll like my arrangements of Big Empty and Interstate Love Song by STP. I recorded some Soundgarden too, but didn’t need to do much arranging because Chris Cornell was such an amazing rhythm player, and the leads were more “textural additions” than melodic.
